    I must admit, I knew lots of different colour correction techniques, especially for skin tones, but Yours seems to be so intuitive, yet effective, that I already gave it a shot editing headshot today, at it works !

    Some of your techniques were new ideas for me. You also get brownie points for being the only person I've seen/known to be able to get decent selections from select and mask. :)

    • @MrSalamifreak
      @MrSalamifreak 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Select and mask is dogshit if we're being honest. But there is a trick: Make a quick selection, then go to select->select and mask while holding the shift key on your keyboad. This brings back the old refine edge. Unfortunately there seems to be no direct keyboard shortcut for this

    Hi
    I don't know how many beginners you have among your "students", but I'm one of those, and I'm not speaking fluently English. That means for me:
    - videos are most of the time useless because I have to watch them something like 50,100x to understand all the details, especially when the specialist speaks 10x too fast for me
    - I love Photoshop, sincerely, but I'm very, very, very far as fluent as you are with all the shortcuts, which means that I'm loosing the majority of them
    Anyway, I am very happy to learn new technics, to increase my knowledge of this fantastic tool, and I would like to thank you to take the time for all this 😊

    Very good tutorial Kelvin. I like your teaching style, and I appreciate having the image to work on and follow along with what you are sharing. I also appreciate the workflow you employ. A lot of people can do Photoshop work, but not everyone can teach, you definitely can. Keep up the good work.

    *_Question_*: Does anyone else think that photos/edits are way too bright and saturated nowadays, tending towards the unnatural?

    • @petergoes6185
      @petergoes6185 7 ปีที่แล้ว +50

      depends on the forum... social media like insta, etc... seems to be pushing hyper-exaggerated tones and dramatic/ unrealistic edits. But that's certainly no standard for fine art or true artistic photography

    • @huyked
      @huyked 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Thanks for the input, Peter. I realized later on that I'm asking this question on a video where people are looking to make their photos pop. :D lol. Then again, I also came to look at this video, and my tendency is more toward realism. I do love the look of quite a few images that are saturated past the point of realism, but I guess I'm okay with making the image aesthetically pleasing even if it doesn't reflect reality. Maybe I have been influenced a little by what is popular now. :)

    • @Zaffobaffo
      @Zaffobaffo 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      In this tutorial Imho he popped too much color from that girl.. Even in realistic art photo when lighting is not optimal and if you don't have 5k$ equipment, the colors seems even duller than they are in reality, so you need a bit of tweaking.

    • @huyked
      @huyked 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      With $5K equipment, sometimes you can set Flat profiles. That's a nightmare for me. Lol. Too many options! ;P A Macbeth chart or grey card helps in this situation. And, yeah, it's all subjective anyhow. But I agree it's over-popped for my taste. I think when I get home, I'll fade a 50/50 mix of this and the original to see if I like that version better. :)

    • @TheXentius
      @TheXentius 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Maybe you are right.But at the end,I am sure he gave an idea what you can do,so you can decrease the opacity.It is matter of taste.
