Very good interview Matt again. Sir Ben was very forthright and honest and modest - as with Terry Hutchinson these men are real role models - how you would like to see people of importance behave, not the bratty behaviour which was not uncommon in this high stakes game. This is going to an epic couple of months - thanks for your coverage and analysis. Cheers
that comment in passing about how they did a test boat(LEQ) with Mercedes instead of a two boat program with AC40s … will be interesting to see how much the F1 collaborations will help the Brit’s and the Italians
As a Brit, I wish that Ben was sounding a bit more upbeat. But the analysts on the ground are saying that the boat is looking competitive, so hopefully this is just typical English reserve. Let's hope that this time we're at least in the mix, after the travails in Auckland. We'll know soon enough now - can't wait for the racing to start"
Nobody's beating the Kiwis....best in the world. Aussies when they're there.....just as good. There's a reason why half the skipper's come from these two countries. Brittania doesn't rule the waves anymore.... it's their Antipodean offspring. 👍
Mr Kool! He's not showing his cards. I think Ineos will do very well. The private vid from an apartment with Ben and ETNZ showed that speed wont be a problem. Love the way these boats round the mark and just accelerate away, Ineos especially.
I always thought about time traveling with a F1 car back in time... But travel back to the first Americas cup with one of these things.. They are basically space ships on water...
Either Ben is keeping something up his sleeve or he is giving us a pretty clear indication that Ineos has not done enough, up till now, and other teams,, he doesn’t say, but we all know the Kiwis and Luna Rossa are some way ahead .. As an Ineos supporter I am left somewhat flat by this interview and feel we will be having an early bath, as Bill McClaren used to say. !
I enjoyed the interview,. 👍👍👍 May I ask a couple of questions? What has happened to the hydrogen powered chase boats? Is Skorpios (black and yellow) still moored across from the American Magic base?
Electronics take over from our senses. Can these boats be sailed without electronics? It does not seem like yacht racing anymore. Fast?..Yes. However, I say, go back to the original challenge from England "Bring your fastest boat and we will race around the Isle of Wight" And name the date of the race months in advance. Race whatever the weather.
Based on what evidence? A lot of the analysts on the ground are predicting that Britannia will be competitive, and they did well in the practice rating. Ben is being downbeat here, but everyone's sandbagging so we're not going to really know till they race in earnest.
@@RT-np5ws yep, he didn’t look, or sound very confident to me. Funny that he knew very well the exact date when the first crew will be knocked out. I’ll bet the Americans and the Italians have no idea when the first boat will go home.
Excellent interview, -honest, guarded, informed as well as informing, and cordial.
Thanks Ben, great interview Matt!

Exactly my thoughts such a gentleman but also not robot-answers! I feel incredibly lucky to have this quality coverage for the series!
Great interview Matt
I’m looking forward to the competition, and have total confidence in Ben and the team 💨⛵️🌊 go Ben go 👏👏👍
Awesome! Thank you Matt!! Can’t wait!!
Thanks, great interview, really enjoyed it.
I hope the coverage includes a "graphic" of the wind direction. I can't tell if these "things" are sailing up wind or down!
The speed will tell you
Wonderful interview!
Great interview, thank you.

@@tullochgorum6323 they’re saying all the boats look competitive!!! There’s no dogs in this fleet. Even the French will be fast.
To me as a non-Brit, Ben just sounds like the ultimate Brit. Mostly understating things, being fairly confident yet somewhat self deprecating.

good lad Ben
Love the paint job on the INEOS hull.

everytime I see classic AC footage it looks like they aren’t even moving compared to the foiling boats we have now
Awesome insight thank you very much
Has anyone told Ainsley it's not a demolition derby this time either?
Godspeed..
Nice "boat" in the background.

This one will come down to the Captains. Don't think any one boat is significantly faster.
Will we see the 40's race?
Women's and Youth Americas' Cup, yes. Sep 17 - Oct 13.
sounded like he knows he's not gonna win
Common mate give em a chance. It's going to be cool to watch no matter what.
@@ohakuneyachtclub8753 that was definitely my feeling too
Ben's face when 'top speed' is dismissed as relevant. That's worth the effort.
To me Ben seemed to be really nervous and on edge.
I enjoyed the interview,. 👍👍👍 May I ask a couple of questions?
What has happened to the hydrogen powered chase boats?
Is Skorpios (black and yellow) still moored across from the American Magic base?
Its only my perception or I don't see Ben very happy. I dont see him enthusiastic enough.
Agree .. he knows Ineos is not competitive enough as the races will show

American motorbike movie 2024
Anybody out there who truly thinks Ineos won’t be the first team to pack up and go home?? If not first, then IMO definitely second after Alinghi.
Talking rubbish. He could hardly hold in how happy he was with the performance of his boat in the practice racing. Absolutely smoked everyone upwind.

@@matthart5215 he really didn’t look very happy, or confident to my eye.
@@CG-99 The Brits are just reserved and not big headed or up their own arses like the Kiwis or Italians that's all.
@@CG-99 you don’t understand the British way. If he was American he would have been shouting about it.

Sponsorship from UKs food banks no doubt? 😮😮😮😮
Bad body language from Ben
First Going Home team? Yes the Arogant Ainslie's servile team..
A load of nothing
Sir Ben should be fined for speaking bad words at the nz commentators
