Thank you for watching Betty! I would say - it's genetics :) and working out regularly! I also try to watch my diet. What's crazy is... I've actually gained about 20 lbs since pre-surgery, but I definitely needed to - I was way too thin and sickly back then!

Thank you for these videos! I am 2 weeks out till my colostomy surgery. How often do you have to let gas out of the bag?

Good luck with the surgery! I am 15 years and not looking back! To your question, for me, it if food dependent place a odor eliminator in the bag and it wont be uncomfortable to "vent " the bag. Roughly twice a day for me.

Thank you for watching!! Good luck with your surgery! Going along with myhockeyplayers, I find that certain foods make me more gassy than others = broccoli, carbonated drinks, etc! But I don't empty just gas out very often during the day because it more often happens at night for me - I've released the gas to avoid getting out of bed, but now I just get up and empty the bag entirely once a night!

Awe I’m sorry to hear that!! I think time has helped me the most - I still get insecure or have bad days where it leaks or my skin is so irritated that it hurts but overall, I focus on the good. I hope you can find help!

I have a colostomy and I have a question about the spinach. I made sure I cooked my spinach and it came out exactly like I chewed it up and it was a little bitty pieces when I chewed it and it came out looking the exact same as when I ate it.

I found the same thing happens to me with spinach and a lot of vegetables! corn especially - that always comes out the way it went in 😂 but even diced tomatoes!
