Oh kayla. your video made me cry because i felt the exact same way as you. I had a good few emotional days but you are spot on!staying positive is the best thing you can do. They are exactly what i wore after surgery and im still wearing. Absolutely love your pretty new items. They look so comfy! Love love love the matching idea. Thats how i am too. Stay strong 💪
Having a reputable, experienced surgeon truly makes a huge difference in faster recovery with minimal to no complications. Wishing you the best of luck and a speedy recovery.
The only person I had to help me was my partner...the more people you have around you during this time, the better!
Kayla, I was in your position 6 months ago now. I had a rollercoaster of emotions, and absolutely no family or friends supporting me. To anyone having this surgery, having a support system is a blessing and will help you get through this. I was scared and happy at the same time. What got me through this time is always thinking forward. You will feel soo much better kayla. My rectal stump made me suffer so much so I understand exactly how you feel. I will be here all the way through your journey kayla. Thank you so much for having the courage to share your journey to health and healing with us! It is truly invaluable to many! 🎉❤😊
You'll be okay.
It's the right decision you will be fine you will recover fast. The pain is minimal don't worry . God is gonna get you through.
Honestly, Kayla, I had a complete proctocolectomy on a Friday and came home Tuesday. Obviously, pain was managed in the hospital, and I came home using only Tylenol and Advil. I was terrified to get the Barbie butt stitches removed because of everything I'd heard, and it ended up being completely painless. I'd say the BB part of my surgery was more annoying (not being able to sit) than painful.
@@michellem8284 thank you so much for sharing your experience!! That actually makes me feel so relieved!! I hope you continue to heal well and you are able to get back to normal in no time 🙏🏼
I am very happy to hear others have healed well from this surgery.
It's brilliant. It's been probably 20 years since mine was done, I'm losing count. It's uncomfortable of course but hang in there because down the track you have your life back to enjoy with your little cutie and other loved ones. Be patient, nurture yourself and cry when you need but follow up with a smile. You too will come out the other side way better off. Love and healing light coming your way. Bron from Sydney ❤
@@bronwynread-andia3555 this gives me so much hope!! Thank you!! 😊
God speed recovery prayers for you ! Baby will be okay, you are an awesome Mom!
@@lisah.1448 thank you! I appreciate your prayers! ❤️
Completion Proctectomy in January for me. I am so invested in your recovery as I am in information gathering mode too right now.
@@CarolineLewton yay! We are so close! Keep me updated with when you get a date scheduled!
@@OstomyLifeUnfiltered I will do! All the best to you for your surgery xx
Best of luck yo you both. 6 months out here. I had open abdominal surgery again for my completion. I am doing well. At times you may feel overwhelmed but just know that it will so be worth it once you are healed! You will be a whole new person! Much healthier and happier!
@ Thank you!!! I very much hope so! How long before you could go up and down stairs again? My surgery will be open too.
Your very welcome! At the 2 month mark. I had my entire rectum removed howevhadthey preserved my anus due to no disease activity (uc) and due to the fact im currently on fertility path. I was jumping in and out of my 4wd after 2 months. Start building up strength by walking slowly more and more each day as long as the pain is controlled. You will build strength much better that way by starting as soon as possible after surgery. You will get there in the end.
I'm getting my ileostomy on 12/19 😬
It will go great!! Any concerns or questions you can always ask me or message me on instagram ❤️
You will finally be able to live the life you wanted. Go team ileo's!
It is the right decision, it will be painful, but be patient. Don’t over do it durning your recovery, that was my issue. Hang in there.😉
@@denselman I should put a note by my bed that reminds me to not overdo it because I am the same way! But I know it’s important to be patient and heal!
All the best to you x
I just drank it down as quick as I could. It was absolutely the worst crap I have ever had to do before a procedure. It was just a full day of discomfort and all that. I could not sleep. I worked 6 pm to 6 am the day before my prep and that was a mistake. I was awake for two full days.
Good Luck with your coming up barbie butt surgery. You will be good. I have one and have had no problems. You'll be in my prayers . Ostomate buddy from Ohio.
I’m so happy to hear that!! Thank youn
Bless your heart. So educational.
Wishing you the best of luck for your surgery and recovery period. The day will come before you know it! I felt scared and excited at the same time just like you kayla, but once i woke from my surgery, i already felt healthier somehow? Like something unhealthy left my body ❤
That makes me feel so good to hear!! I felt the same way after my ileostomy surgery 4 years ago and was hoping for the same result!
God bless you always ❤
Much luck and prayers. You got this!
You've got this kayla! ❤
That's fantastic news kayla! I know exactly how you feel kayla! Just had mine done 5 months ago. My surgery is a little different to yours, they kept my anal canal and anus and just removed my entire rectal stump. My anus wasnt affected by the uc so they were happy to leave it. Also, im in my late 30s and am currently on my Fertility journey. I was advised that removing them would be a longer recovery which wasnt an option unfortunately! I definitely feel soo much healthier overall though. Sending prayers all positive energy and hugs to you all the way from Australia! I'm soo happy to hear you finally have a date! Look after yourself a little extra, indulge and relax until then. Take care, Angie xo
Oh that is so interesting, but makes total sense! I’m sending you baby dust and good luck to get pregnant 🙌🏼 thank you so much! I am excited to be on the other side of surgery!!
Yes i am not your typical case. I guess it depends on each individual and situation. Like yourself, I've suffered from chronic pan uc since very young! We have suffered for far too long kayla! Thank you soo much 💓. Your daughter is a sweet little angel! I'm soo happy watching your videos! Women with uc are real warriors!
Thank you! If you can do it then I can ❤
Good luck with butt surgery 🙏🏻🙏🏻 all will go well xx❤😊
Thank you!!! 😊
All the best! Yay to being fully healthy!❤❤❤
I just finished 3/4 of my Prep right now. Chased it with a bit of ginger ale. Took 2.15hrs
Sending you positive energy and hugs from down under. Look forward to seeing more videos.

Praying that they offer you a surgery date real soon kayla!

Can your baby get Crohn’s disease?
@@christinadejuliis5465 I can’t say 100% that she will never develop it, because there are a couple other women in my family who have a form of ulcerative colitis, but I sure hope she never gets it. -> Last time I talked to my doctor, he said that studies have not proven it to be genetic
That’s what they used on a catheter for urine. But through the stoma.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us kayla! It is truly invaluable ❤
I'm excited for you to get some relief. Only those of us who have lived with colitis or crohns can understand how miserable it can be. I completely understand why you didn't have your rectum removed initially. I elected to have everything removed all at once, and am so glad that I did. Best of luck to you!
Now I wish they would have taken it all right away for me! I’m happy that you are glad with that decision 🙌🏼 Until I get a surgery date, I feel like I’m just in this “waiting” period where it feels so far away. But it will come!
Hello you mentioned that they are going to sew your anus shut. Are they going to remove your anal canal and anus or just going to sew these up from the inside or outside? I just had my proctectomy surgery done 6 months ago...best wishes on your journey. May you finally find peace in your life from uc!
Good question!! They are going to remove the whole anal canal as well! I hope your recovery is going well after your surgery ❤️
👍. Thank you so very much! It's been a tough recovery but 100% worth it for me! My rectal stump was making me feel very sick! Sending you lots of positive energy and love. I know how you feel right now, waiting for the surgery date and wanting it to be all over! Hang in there 🙏
Thank you so much for sharing this! You inspire and reassure me. Greatly appreciate it.

Brilliant Happy video and with that great little laugh.
I'm so scared because I've heard that it burns like hell :(
