Scottish Borders | Messing about on the..River Tweed!

  • Just a little fun on the beautiful River Tweed. We put in at Peebles and made our way past Innerleithen and Walkerburn and pulled ourselves out at Ashiestiel Bridge nr Caddonfoot, approximately 22km. We had planned to do a hammock camp at Yair Hill Forrest, but this adventure was cut short following a last-minute request to get to the airport!! Work gets in the way of the important stuff at times!
This one’s not going to get the adrenaline pumping, it’s just a chilled meander taking in the lowland countryside of the Scottish Borders.

Spent many happy childhood holidays in the Borders at Selkirk & got to know Melrose, Galashiels. Hawick, Moffat & Peebles. Lovely video & always like how the countryside looks so different when viewed from a river.

Michael Atkinson it’s a lovely area of Scotland. Couldn’t agree more.. view from the river is so different and gives that feeling of being more remote than it actually is. Thank you for watching. 😊🙏

I know nothing about pack rafting but they look very buoyant compared to a kayak or canoe.

P B66 Hey, That’s partly why we bought them, very very stable and great for those that aren’t really looking to hit the frothy white stuff.. although it looks like they perform well in the ruff stuff too. 😊

Always loved the idea of pack rafting but put off because can’t swim, but these seem stable enough to give it a try

Andrew Govan very stable but things can still go wrong. Probably a good idea to go out with someone that’s got experience and on flat water. Definitely worth giving it a go though. They are good fun. Thanks for watching! 😀🙏

@@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389 thank YOU for the video. Its not the Museo Family though. At least not the one I have (100-1000). The K's foot there is nearly sans serif. (sorry for nerding). Anyway thanks.
