    In 3 years I've only gotten frog to handstand, and some progressions but I do feel the years of work have gotten me close to the front lever(I can do pulls and advanced tuck) and planche(feet are getting light and the lean very deep). 2023 I may be able to planche, so about 4 years.. I'll be 41 years old.

    Injury prevention is definitely not talked about enough. Everyone gets right into the exercises even for beginners, and recommend progressions. But I feel like the average person picks up a lot of injuries without proper joint preparation. Certainly learned the lesson the hard way myself, setting me back years.

    The resting days are a very powerful tool. For a while I kept doing pull ups every other day, thinking a day was enough recovering. But I barely improved my numbers.
    Then I went for a trip for just 5 days, and when I came back, boom, I could do significantly more, and it felt much more easy. My body just needed that idle time to process the gainz 😂

    • @leevickers5747
      @leevickers5747 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      been doing pull ups every other day some days I like to do 10 sets of 10. Started doing weighted pull ups with 2.5kg. Did 15 pull ups neutral grip that was a PR. Did 15 in the past but not full range been doing pull ups on thicker bars so when you use a normal bar feels easy. Need to get better at L sit pull ups though.

    I think the most common mistake i see in workouts is rushing up to the next progression and not getting the forms right or not getting strong enough to master the skill and then get on the next one ect... For me isometrics are very helpful and also slow negative reps help me understand the movements and be aware of an exercise form.

If you can find a gym that has a sauna and to make sure always to do some kind of very safe warm up exercise that will help you so much in your fitness journey.

    I have a question. Can I superset 2 mechanically demanding tasks ( weighted pullups and dragon flags ) ?
    Because I want to get more work done in rest period I mean when I rest for 4-5 mins after every set I feel like I need to do something else like leg adductor compressions for L-sit or something like that

    • @SirWetBiscuit
      @SirWetBiscuit 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I personally wouldn't do FL and dragon flag as a superset / cluster set just because dragon flags exhaust my lats too. Some of my best progress came from doing compression or mobility drills between sets though. You definitely don't have to sit around, just try to pair things that won't tax the main movement too much

    • @sugoikage4240
      @sugoikage4240 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The best bet is to superset something with less taxing movements and in the same time, make sure they're not using the same muscles as the previous one. So for an example, if you want to superset your weighted pull ups with something, you might want to superset them with perhaps a handstand hold/attempt. Supersetting dragon flags with any pulling movement is not really a good idea since they also use your lats quite heavily. Supersetting weighted pull ups with any l sit work is also still quite a good idea.

    Video: Let's talk about calisthenics
    Guest: I got into cali because I don't like weight training
    Video: Shows several minutes of the guest doing weight training
    Guest later in the video: I've been mixing cali and weight training from the start
    Edit: I don't care that he mixes the two. It bothers me that he was portrayed as a guy who is strictly calisthenics

    I got to 100kg back squat mid covid then they wanted masks at the gum. F that. Then lost the strength. Have a squat rack now and did 5 sets 20 reps and I can't sit 2 days later quads agony. Dropping bum to floor does that stretch ligaments too much if not enough strength? Should I get back to 100kg then do the ass to the ground with shins on the ground?

    I need to learn how to take a rest day on the muscle up, my problem is that every time I see pull up bar at my gym I get too excited and starting to do muscle up and I'm afraid that I can't be available to do it anymore if I don't keep doing it every single day....but it's time to take rest days!

    Good morning since over here in the Mexican side it is dawn time, I am 54 years old and unfortunately I am over weighted around 330 lbs. and my height is 6 feet and I would really want to be like you are sir "FitnessFAQs" I was born with my left hand handicapped and it is really difficult for me to pushups. I also have bad circulation in both legs, I am taking a pill every 24 hours for that cause of my legs that is varicose veins. Can you please help me out, I don't care if it takes more than 1 year to have the body that you have sir. Hope to hear from you soon thank you and continue having a wonderful weekend. I am willing to do exercises every single day sir.

    I have a question I want do calisthenics but I’m a skinny fat guy. I look skinny but lots of fat just around my belly. I doing basic movements and training three days and resting in between. I watch what I eat and occasionally do intermittent fasting. I have been consistent for only two months but I don’t see any change in my belly fat. I’m about 26 percent body fat. Any recommendations.

    • @squirreltakular9049
      @squirreltakular9049 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm skinny fat, all of it in the love handles. Nothing gets rid of it except long distance runs and sprints. Do intense runs on your "off" days and lighter runs at the end of your calisthenics workouts. Sub out running for swimming or biking if your knees suck, but imho sprints are non-negotiable. Keep at it! ❤️
