I think peridot may be my favorite of the green gemstones, which is great for me since they're significantly cheaper to source than many of the other options.
@@Topaz_Estrella Peridot comes in a variety of greens from dark, almost forest green to a pale yellow-green. So there's probably something out there for you. But don't feel compelled to wear it just because it is the stone arbitrarily assigned to your birth month. If you don't like the appearance of peridot, then just wear what you like. For example: my birth stone is Alexandrite and, while I do think it is a pretty stone, it isn't my favorite. So I won't go out of my way to find arbitrary reasons like birth stone to wear a gemstone. Instead, I'll just wear what I like. Another interesting green gemstone, if you're okay with treated stones, is green topaz. It's made in a similar method to most London blue topaz and has been irradiated to add or intensify the color. I think it is quite lovely.
@@Topaz_Estrella You can always pick onyx as your birthstone if you don't like peridot, or, alternatively, disregard the whole notion of birthstones as it's obviously nonsense and just pick any stone you like.
Thank you for these videos. I work at a jewelry store with a huge workshop. My boss gives me envelopes of stones from our collection to practice IDing, to supplement my GIA courses. It's super fun to do, and these videos and your website provide great background information. I always enjoy watching!
I had a peridot birthstone ring in my youth. My hand was struck by a baseball and the stone cracked. I lost track of the ring when I left home 53 years ago. Didn't realize one of my favorite snorkeling beaches on Guam had olivine sand.
Tourmaline is indeed incredibly amazing. I love the longer facets that preserve more of the crystal! Currently my favorite i own is a gorgeous deep green.
The reflection light, element with colour and natural lighting, ✨️ colour scents structure, and transmitted things like inclusions and colour Beautiful peridot
I love peridot! Such a fresh shade of green 💚. Also I'd like to mention I prefer this lady over the previous 'gemologist'. The previous girl seemed a bit immature. Thx for a great vid! 👍
All of those green gemstones are so very pretty.😯😀 It's very fascinating on how they're get their green color and to know where to find them too. It's amazing to see so any green gems.🤔💚💎 Good video and thanks for sharing.🙂👍
Green is a beautiful color and I didn't know Peridot was pronounced like that! Its my birthstone and favorite Steven Universe character! Love this video!!
No way can I pick one of those green gemstones as my favourite. I did like the Peridot though as it’s my birthstone. My Peridot has two Lilly pad inclusions. Great production, thank you.
This is speaking to my geek heart!! I feel like I'm listening to a warm and beautiful Sheldon Cooper, in fact, the team that puts together this channel's information packed videos could have been technical writers for The Big Bang Theory, LOL!
That idocrase was shockingly vivid very highlighter yellow. But there were plenty of beautiful greens a perfect display of the range of greens gems can be.
Can’t believe you didn’t cover Hiddenite / green Afghan Kunzite. Ugh. It’s seriously so so sooooo pretty. Talk about a cheap alternative to an expensive emerald. They are absolutely beautiful and one of my favorites stones to have cut. Gotta cover Kunzite and its variety of colors. 💎
Green is easily my second-favourite colour (closely following purple, which you've already covered, thank you!), so I love looking at these stones. It's hard to pick a favourite among them. But I did have a thought while I watched this video. Since my eyes are green, I've been trying to determine which of these gemstones most closely resembles that colour. (Just in case I ever want a gemstone that matches my eyes, for some reason.) Now, it turns out that humans only ever appear to have blue or green eyes because of a light-scattering effect that takes place inside your eye. Thus, different lighting conditions can change your irises' appearance drastically, making it harder to determine what shade your eye colour truly is. Fortunately for me, I have a lamp that gives off bright, cool white light, which I think is the same kind of light used to clearly show off a gemstone's true colour. So, using that for comparison... I think the matching stone I'd want is peridot or idocrase, depending on the exact specimen. I guess it's nice to keep that in the back of my mind now. Thank you for showing all of these today.
I noticed something as I watch something about gemstones: stones with names starts with "chryso-" is always green or has green color to it like chrysoberyl, chrysolite, chrysoprase, and chrysocolla.
Peridot 💃no 1 Love the shades of tourmaline..especially how close to.perfect they come in their natural form ..and the dual colour ones ..so i love watermelon tourmaline green red combo Amazing how for true lovers of gemstones ..Emerald is not the most popular green stone
Emerald sets the standard for the most desirable color I think, most of the other stones are most valuable the closer they are to the top emerald color. Tsavorite for example actually have more pure green color, but the most valuable color has a bluish green hue to mimic emeralds.
I have a picture of the Emerald that was mined in Hiddenite, NC. The largest ever from USA. I wish I could post it here. Go look it up, totally amazing!
Green is one of my 3 favorite colors.. orange & purple are my other 2. I was born in May, so emerald is my birthstone. [Sidenote: favorite absence of light = black; favorite metal = copper.. just sayin'.]
I have also a Peridot crystal with needles. I've read they only come from the Nanga Parbat region in Pakistan. I wonder what the needles consist of though.
I just love this chanel, I will love to learn about teal and aquamarine natural stones, I have a few and is hard to know, and also I would love to know about blue stones like angelite, blue lace agate and other stones in that color category, Thank you so much
Beautiful tsavorites. You are correct that they're the best though :) My wedding ring is tsavorite. What's the green gem in the ring you're wearing? It looks like a tsavorite, but really hard to tell with the distance.
How can I get in touch with you and show you some stons I've found. I'm really not very well ducted on them and I think you could probably help identify and possibly sell some of them
I think peridot may be my favorite of the green gemstones, which is great for me since they're significantly cheaper to source than many of the other options.
I've always struggled with being an August baby. The peridot I've seen is always my least favorite shade of green ☹️
