I can verify that grandchildren find special joy in wrapping creations containing our love & comfort around them. My grandsons are 16 & 20, and they STILL wrap themselves in things I've made for them every single day!! They have things saved for their own children, which I've made.
I'm currently crocheting an entire collection of amigurumi for their (as yet unborn) children. I want my greatgrands to know how much their granny loves them - even before their births!!
Thank you for the simple thoughts, Elise. Many blessings to you and yours!

God has blessed me with 15 beautiful grandchildren and I have crocheted all of them a blanket and knitted sweaters I too learned from my grandma Mary

You are one blessed lady!!!!! 15 grandchildren! Wow!!! That is so wonderful that you've been able to pass down your love of crochet from your own grandmother, just precious!! 💗💗💗

I'll have to find that book. I have an afghan that my maternal grandmother made, probably in the 60s or 70s. She passed before I was 10, but I have many good memories of her. My paternal grandmother taught me to crochet, so that was something they both did. I love knowing I come from a couple of crocheting women..they would LOVE all the yarn varieties today.

That is wonderful. It really is amazing to think about those women in our families who crocheted before us. Thanks for sharing! 🌻

So special. Your dialog and camera action are perfect. I too love vintage. From oil cloth abd cotton fabrics, to kitchen utensil, blankets and shawls. The list goes on. Thank you so much

Im in tears. I am the gal who’s best friend happened to b her grandfather. My first tattoo was an anchor & the word pawpaw❤️. I’ve painted & been a photographer since childhood but now, I’m 43, & I decided to start knitting & crocheting because of the amount of time I’m now forced to spend inside from an illness. I’m definitely going to pick this book up & hopefully I’ll be able to recreate some of these things for my future grandchildren.

What a wonderful video! The crochet trimmed pillowcases brought back memories of the ones my Grandmother made years before I was born. They now belong to me and I treasure them. I also have a beautiful granny square blanket that she made. I love to crochet and wish that I would have met her to learn from her and share projects that we made.
Don't forget to sew labels on your completed projects with your name and the year so that those who have the good fortune to receive them will know who handmade them with love. My Husband and I don't have children unfortunately ... but I figured this is legacy to the next generations ... keeping people warm and comfy - one crochet project at a time. Take care and thanks again for the good memories.

Thank you so very much for the kind comments! Your grandmothers sounds like she was a wonderful lady. And what a fantastic idea to add a label! I have never thought to do that before. 😊

This book is a treasure--both of her books actually! I have them and pour over them at least once a month. And I don't think I could use those dishcloths either! You did a beautiful job on those pillowcases. Just lovely! And I agree with the older times too-yes they did have rough times but there are things to romanticize about it as well. Slow living, spending time with people and relationships and making things like food or crafts. I'm glad to see a groundswell of appreciation for crochet and crafting in general, but especially yarn and needlecrafts. What a sweet video. Now I need to make something from that gorgeous book! **I can see the amazing progression of your videos over a few years. You are doing so great!

Love your thoughts and beautiful vintage objects. I enjoy vintage objects and try to rescue some of my family objects. My Grandmother's Singer pedal sewing machine, a mahagony small table, chair. I used to crotchet and double knit. My joints hurt so much I had to stop. I am looking forward to a head cap for Stephanie. I know I will have to rest some, but I am going to do my best. I would not use those kitchen towells either. Too sentimental. Keep up the good work Elise. 🤩🙏🏾🦋

Thank you so much, Elia. Your grandmother's sewing machine must be such a treasured object that brings back wonderful memories. I hope that you will be able to make your cap for your daughter, but take those breaks! I can't use the towels!! Lol!! But they look pretty!! 😘😘😘
