As an ex Sparky i was impressed that you cleaned off the flux after you soldered. Not many people realise that the very reason for flux is to remove surface oxide - and to do this the flux is generally corrosive. We had a specific batch of boards at work about twenty years ago that started failing in the field that was traced to the company that made them forgetting to neutralise the flux acids. Like a timebomb the flux acid was getting under all those lovely surface mount components! Balancing out the capacities of the cells was was properly luxurious - I bet they don't do that at the original factory. I reckon you're the sort of fussy bloke that weighs con rods and pistons as well - hold on are you that AC?...

Hehehehe thanks for the comments David, and yes we all got taught the right way many years ago and it’s shame this does not seem to have been passed down to the next generation!!

You're good man! Just got into this recently from auto and computer work, loving rebuilding packs! Matco screwing customers in Canada right now and I love fighting it and e-waste.
I love how heat conscious you are, there are some guys doing this om TH-cam making an absolute mess and soldering the shit out of every battery end 😂
People online talk of packs boards losing "memory" after having the batteries removed but I have yet to see it, my assumption currently is they had bad boards to begin with. I am looking into a way to test my boards before investing batteries, as I do with macs before installing components.
Have you experienced any batteries that won't engage after removal? I always discharge my batts to 2.9 and let rest for an hour before installing, haven't had balance issues yet

Any issues I have had I simply change the board once I know the cells are good.

Does it charge normally on a Milwaukee charger?
