- We picked up our Landy with our new Alu-Cab Icarus roof conversion!!
Guys we are over the moon with the work we have had completed on our Landy, it has been a game changer for us. After picking up our Defender 110 camper we headed to the Tankwa National Park with some of our good friends.
The Tankwa is a breathtakingly beautiful place with vast, dry landscapes, incredible gravel tracks and wildlife. What a place to off-road with our overlanding pals!
We visited the Bike X Cape camp, the Tankwa Tented camp and Die Mond campsite.

Excellent video. Great to see you guys are enjoying those boerewors rolls. Luckily boerewors is easily obtainable in Australia so we get to have it often. Have you tried skilpaadjies? It is sheep liver wrapped in caul fat. Really good. I really love the Karoo landscapes. The Australian outback reminds me so much of it. Safe travels.

Not sure if you guys are following international news but there is fighting in Sudan not sure if that is on your route out but it probably is, stay safe and make plan B in case, keep the videos coming very jealous of your expedition.

We have been eating inside most nights because the sun goes down at about 6:30pm as it’s Winter here and the temperate has been dropping considerably at night therefore if we don’t have a fire going we choose to sit inside the car on our sofa and watch a movie whilst we eat our dinner ☺️
I guess it’s just our preference 🤷🏼♀️ some days we’ll light a big fire and spend the evening outside.

Best scene for me was about 10:50 the flying sandbag doing the massive steak the tightrope walker and the chilling vibes. Turbo smashing it.

Nice Landies, Nekkies a star, and the Tankwa magical. Sad you didn't return over Katbakkies pass, through the Cederberg, camped at Cederberg Oasis, back via Clanwilliam to Cape Town. But save it for the next trip... Nice video, especially the drone Landy convoy. Hope you are at the Landy day today at Klapmuts....

Hi Tom! The old roof is at Alucab in Capetown. And it’s waaaay cheaper in S.A.!!!! Way cheaper.

We sold our Tuff Trek tent. We actually shipped our Landy to South Africa with our a tent and just slept in the back of the car before getting our Alu-Cab roof conversion.☺️
Thanks for the vid. How much reserve fuel do you keep on the Landy when you go overlanding? Do some campsites have some fuel for you to fill up?
Hi sorry for the late reply, we have an extra 45 ltrs on board we installed a long range fuel tank. Campsites don’t tend to have fuel no. You have to plan fuelling in some remote areas

Sorry Tristan, you may have caught me in one of the only times I haven’t been wearing my seatbelt. Possibly had just got out of the car. We do take safety very seriously. Asides from that did you enjoy the rest of the video?

I’ve seen other owners carry a special pole to push up the roof camper. 👍🏻🙏🦘
One we get it past the pivot point it opens by itself nicely. It’s just the initial lift that takes so effort 😂
