This production is part pre-produced, and part-live. It switches over to live right before Glennis Grace sings; you can notice the transition if you pay careful attention. The Netherlands are a talent powerhouse when it comes to diskjockeys, which is why that is a distinct flavor in the presentations this year. Rotterdam is very multicultural, which is a part of the 'openup' theme and shows in this video. The orchestra accompaniment in the tram is a nod to the Eurovision of old; for the longest part of its existence every song was played by a live orchestra!

I also saw her performance 2 days earlier at the Grand jury final, and that was even better, that was pure perfection also in the beginning were she started very low.

The song Glennis sung is Titanium by Sia. I'm glad you liked it though. Glennis Grace actually performed on Americas Got Talent (she's Dutch too). She's known for sounding like Whitney Houston a lot. Some say her voice comes the closest to how Whitney used to sound. She has some beautiful songs to listen to. She's a power house. I can see how you got caught up in the moment. It took me in as well. Been in worse places. Quite an exciting song, with multiple build ups to the big beat. Video recorded outside is every teenagers story, fall in love, her dad tries to stop it, kids escape and continue being in love.. (We didn't have music behind us, just her very angry dad. wielding a hefty cane...).
I thought the whole thing was great, especially in the eager atmosphere it covered us in.

Afrojack is one of the biggest DJ's in the world, Wulf is a popular singer in the Netherlands and Glennis Grace is the Dutch Whitney Houston.
Glennis was, indeed, on AGT after a Whitney Houston cover went viral, and... she got screwed over and given some bs sob story that every Dutch person knew was made up by AGT. (sorry, but that whole AGT is fake, anything with Simon Cowell is fake)
The scenes outside were pre recorded, but the singing was all live, the final part was live on stage and also live singing, at Eurovision, playback is forbidden.. even for interval acts.
Glennis is a powerhouse singer and if she has you feel curious if she is that good as she seemed to be, check out "The ladies of Soul" and her performance(s) on there, specifically "Run to you" is highly recommended, you'll see (and hear) why she is called the Dutch Whitney.
The production is off the charts... ridiculously good (but hey, thats what us Dutchies do hehehe ;) )

If you wander if this is live or not, you should check out Madonna's interval act at ESC 2019 Israel. You know it is live, because there is no way you can sing this false doing it lypsynced. ESC is the olympics of singing, it has 200 million views, so it is very prestious to its artists and organisation. No one would even dare not to take this serious, even not the biggest musicstars, its way to big for that. Madonna felt of her throne by doing such a bad act. It is really a deal breaker where the best of the best meets, especially with the interval acts.

But unfortunately she probably would only find nowadays the remastered version where Madonnas very bad singing is almost fixed with Autotune (still kinda bad but a huge progress to how she have „sung“ in the original live version)
I think the only possibly to watch the original real disaster performance without any Autotune fix, is to find in the 3 hour live stream video of the entry final show 2019 (to find on the official ESC-YTchanel, but its geolocked for everyone country outside the competition and so americans doesn’t being able find it or watch it without an VPN wich generates a new IPN for your Computer wich looks tricks YT to think you are actually being in Europe instead of america and the Geolock disappear)

The voice of Glennis Grace is live and her voice. However, she can sing the high notes better than the lower ones. At the beginning she was also very nervous. That could be the difference you hear.

Excuse me please! Why on agt does glennis sound like whitney and now suddenly like lady gaga??? This lady sings for 24 years now and adapts her voice to the song. Give her other songs and she could sound like dolly parton/cher/stevie nicks/ann wilson/celine(etc). But still be her own. Why do you always have to compare???

It's a shame that the reactions of the proffesionals on this, don't recognise one of the most world famous DJ'S like Afrojack, that's the whole point of this half video/half live performance! The story is that music binds us.. the white girl in love with a black boy, her father being over protected bc he is bringing the girl up on his own (see her bracelet with mum on it) they hop on a journey where everyone meets to join the music is filmed on the Erasmus bridge in Rotterdam, the driver of the tram is Afrojack, then Wulf comes along, also a great famous performer, then the whole bridge transferred to the music hall into a live performance with Afrojack and Glennis Grace singing live Titanium, a world hit by David Guetta and Sia also written and produced by Afrojack and Guetta! The same with the interval act of Davina Michelle with Sweet water, she wrote that especially for act, again half video/half live performance where the woman in the water is an actress Thekla Reuten, then Davina becomes one with the water and sings better then the contesters in this Eurovision contest! Maybe for all the people who give reactions to songs and acts, first get some background info to begin with.
I totally agree on this. When you don't do any research before doing a reaction video, you spend more time wondering who this is, wondering what is going on, wondering if it's live, wondering if it's her song etc etc, instead of actually listening and reacting a bit more professionally.

Honestly, Americans are so clueless when it comes to foreign artists... How can you not know who sang this song or recognize Afrojack? The Netherlands have some very talented DJs and Afrojack is only one of them. Besides that, the Dutch are flown into the biggest countries and to the biggest festivals to do the lights/music. Part of this performance is pre-produced and part is live. I honestly don't think Glennis Grace lipsynced as the first part with the low tones was trash (same level as the average Eurovision contestant). After that, she blew everyone away.
That's why I started the channel - to explore music outside of what I typically listen to. These reactions, for example, have introduced me to ESC. I can't speak for others in the U.S., but before starting this channel I just listened to CDs (so no radio influence) and I don't pay attention to what's popular online. In other words, I have stayed in a music bubble, so to speak, before starting the channel. Others in the U.S. may be more aware of ESC than I was. 🤷♀️

Watch Davina Michelle at ESC even better than this! Vocally Davina was way better than glennis, and 100% live. The first part of glennis was live and not good the rest was playback.
