It's nice to know I could find a video on this unit I had mines since 1982. I now have 5 whies and 3 Garretts (2) DFX (3) beach hunter ID (4) V3i (5) MX Sport (6) AT Max (7) GTI 2500 and finally (8) Ace Apex. I am saddened by white's disappearance from the market so it is a welcome factor to see videos on any one of these units it is quite a morale booster for me and I learn from each video more each time. Well a warm and magical handshake from the tropical island of Puerto Rico blessings from Ralph "Lord Damian" the lizard Prince.
The flat T shaped item that tapers on the end looks like the flat pins used to connect steel and wood concrete forms together. Some had a hole in the center for a little steel toggle that kept the pin from dropping out ! Sure looks like one Fun Video !
The button on the end of the handle is for pinpointing. I still have my 6000/D. Same set up. Ground balancing takes a little practice. I've found more with my 6000/D than with all my other detectors. But, that was back in the 80's.
Cool video. I also have a 5000 series 2 in like new condition. It is heavier than newer machines , but IL take an analog over digital any day. These older machines take a bit more practice to get used to , but can definitely still find good treasure. Main thing is to learn ur machine , regardless of the type. My cuz has a prism 5 , and that series 2 whips his a lot of times. Keep on huntin brother , u will do good. Oh , nice truck to. GL HH.
Thanks a lot! Yeah, it's a pretty sweet machine and there's just something about older technology! As a musician/audiophile I'll take analog over digital any day and I bet I'll feel the same way about my metal detectors once I learn this machine!
Super deal on that for twenty bucks, I have one also 5000D series 2 it's a lot of fun to have used but I just boxed it up because of one of the battery connectors ends detaching and staying with the battery pack, fixable no problem but using other machines now, it will go pretty deep and make your wrist very strong eventually, ton of fun to use for sure.
I was definitely finding larger objects pretty deep but I think I still have a learning curve to get over when it comes to manual ground balance and discrimination settings if I wan to find those older coins!
@@earthunearthed With headphones listen for the smallest little signal, those are the deep ones, I was using that machine + a couple other models from that era, in fact, I should be getting another one in the mail 6000 Di pro series 3 sears model with ship just over a hundred cool machines for sure

I kinda dig the older stuff too but should i just save my money and get a newer garrett? Thoughts anyone? Thanks! Beep beep!

Hey mate are you there? I can't work out where to attach the battery pack positive and negative ends.
@@timcarr4155 they only can connect one way, they are six volt type hook up, two lines each hooks up to battery
