Matt I would have done an agitation - non agitation split passenger / driver side instead of front back since front wheels as you know gather more brake dust build-up. left right split would have shown how much difference agitation makes to the whole process. One more thing i noticed Matt, I use Maguires, it says use on DRY wheels, you rinsed the wheels first meaning that Maguires didnt get to work on the grime directly but floated on the water already on the wheels also it prevented the cleaner being absorbed by the grime as it was already saturated by water.
How would you recommend cleaning painted rims with Meguires? Just spray while dry then agitate with brush or microfiber mitt? I'm worried it'll just scratch the black paint up with all the gunk it's breaking down.
I wish we had the Autoglym cleaner in the Spray Can, I'm curious about that...(Canada only has a few Products)...hope we get their Ceramic stuff soon too...
Tells this ive been buying the maguires wheel cleaner for ages as i know its good but its just so expensive and considering the turtle wax redline due to being able to buy it in 5liter drums would you recommend the swap 25quid for 5 liters redline vs maguries ultimate £20 a bottle usually normally lasts one wash tbh you reckon the turtle wax redline is safe enough to use ? thoughts swap or stay with maguires ?
Yes, it should be fine..... Also you wouldn't use every wash anyway. If I'm doubt, apply it, and spray a little shampoo or #snowfoam over the top before agitating
Hi Mat, great review on these wheel cleaning products,Ive only used one and that's Wonder Wheels,I didn't do the job for me.never tried the rest but I do like the Meguiars one.also Magma is another to look at as it can do the body work.
hi i dropped my grit guard accidentley on the ground would you suggest to change it? also do you think its best to have two microfiber wash mitts one for the top and another for the bottom ?
Useful video Matt , I've got some Turtlewax redline to try which I got for £6:99 from Eurocarparts. I've also tried the Sonax reactive one which is great .
Great video Matt, I've recently bought the Turtlewax Redline after using Wonder wheels for the last few years. Yet to use it but do you know if I can use the turtlewax as a fallout remover on the paintwork?
So Thoughts before watching the vid - AG Magma is not a specific wheel cleaner. Wonder wheels is acid based, unless they changed the formula. not something I personally want on my alloys on a regular basis. TW redline is good but trigger sprayer is not great, but great on price. Meguiars is too pricey for me, for what they do. BH autowheels is my main wheel cleaner, but Simoniz ultra care alloy cleaner is pretty good as well for the price.
Hi just seen your video doing quick-release fittings on kranzle on hose an gun think u. Use pta tape it was white tape. u have the 2160 model where did u get yours . Would you say its worth getting one You put l link or Amazon for the part male and female for quick release did u have 2 of each? So quick release for hose to machine an quick release for the gun what u did was good idea 👍 would do the same could u help with the part in a link Or the Amazon link on the video is all u need an would I need 2 of each cheers was a good video
@@TheDetailingSpace OK cheers in that video link for anarzon it's shows one Of each. Quick release would i need two of each. can u remember where u got your kranzle from an is the kranzle better then kartcher. the thanks again 👍
I actually prefer redline. Ive not had much fun with the meguiars. Ive not used magma yet though ill give it a go. I used another brand from Halfords it turned green, couldnt be buying that again. Im a bluenose 😂😂
With reactive wheel cleaners, surely you are better to apply to a dry wheel??? I think Meguiar's recommends that - did you read any instructions? The jet washing technique was poor, missed a lot by just spraying downwards,. Covering brake discs with TGA is really a bad idea, it damages them and makes stopping the car a nightmare until it has cleaned off. Needs care on application and why the broad-spread spray heads are a pain. The cost per litre is vital, but so is the quantity required - you covered that pretty well.
Hi , very nice work..i found a lot of useful infos looking here and also to the forum . Hi Matt, I contacted the administrator trough forum and nothing happened. Still same problem : registration disable and user name, mail and password are not valid anymore for activation. 😓
Great video Mat. I've got the megs you used here at the moment. Question is, should I use the megs on the alloys and APC on the tyres? Does APC remove tyre dressing? Thanks in advance. Ashley
Nice video as always 👍 I think most of the cleaners are not peoples first choice these days, as there are better products out there but handy to know if you happen to run out of your usual preferred brand.
I know what you're saying. But for those just starting to take care of their motors, they will no doubt start by looking in the supermarkets and the high street first. Plus, these are brands most people will have heard of.
The best fallout remover from Halfords is Auto finesse iron out. As soon as it comes in it's gone lol. Much more powerful than these. Lights up red quick 👍🏼.
@@AntEloftheHouseofEl oh I have don’t worry about that, Bilt is seriously strong stuff for sure but stinks so bad and was just saying out of these 4 meguiars would be my choice. I’m currently using either GT wheel shampoo or YUM wheels and both are great too
Great video however, I think you have got the price wrong on the Turtle Wax Redline Wheel cleaner. £10 is for a 750ml bottle meaning a better price per litre me thinks.
As others have said, Bilt Hamber is the best overall wheel cleaner I've used but great to see another comparison of high street products Mat. Tend to lose touch with what's available in Halfords etc. I remember buying the old Wonder Wheels where you had to tip into a plastic cap and use the brush supplied which would fall apart after a few uses lol! Nasty, acrid smelling stuff! 😷😄
Wonder wheels is rubbish stained my alloys had to use wash and wax to get it off and plenty of water got some g101 going wash my wheels in that shoud be ok

Thank you so much for the videos I just started subscribe and loved!!! It’s VERY HELPFUL you put the link where to buy👍🏼
I was looking at 3 of these exact products! Good to see a video on them
Good comparison video. I prefer Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel. By far the best wheel cleaner I've used.
Never tried that myself
@@TheDetailingSpace Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
I'll get around to it one day 😂
Incredible stuff
Thanks 👍
What happens if the product goes on the brake disc?
It turns purple... But then you'd rinse it off anyway 😉👍
Awesome test. Need more of these!
Thank you. We have more planned

The Turtle Wax RedLine wheel cleaner in Halfords is £10 for a 750ml bottle. The £6 you see one amazon is for 500ml bottle.
Nice 👍
Thank you for another informative analytical video.
No problem 👍
Wonder if he knows he can turn the nozzle to have it spray instead of stream
I'm sure he does and just had a brain fart kind of a day
I bought a bottle of Wonder Wheels alloy cleaner today for £5 at Wilko, does a good job.
£9 in Hartford
Thanks Matt. Good video as per usual.
Thanks 👍
What kind of wheel brush is that?

Swap, even if it's just due to the cost saving!
you reckon its safe enough? as i know its not as sudsy as the maguiers ultimate @@TheDetailingSpace
Yes, it should be fine..... Also you wouldn't use every wash anyway. If I'm doubt, apply it, and spray a little shampoo or #snowfoam over the top before agitating
i use the maguires on every wash can i not use that stuff every wash the redline wheel cleaner?
The real question is do you really need to? IMO there's no need to use fallout removers every single time.... I just use them a 2 or 3 times a year.
Excellent video. Could you say if any of these would be safe to use on diamond cut alloy, thanks.
Meguiars says to be used on a dry wheel. Thats how i use it. Get it for £6.50 in halfords with trade card. Good value imo.
👍
Great video, just wondered what should I use and do if the wheels haven't been properly cleaned for a few years 🤔
Burn them...
Nah, wheel cleaner, then no doubt will need a tar remover followed by iron remover and then a clay bar.
Autoglym green... as always brilliant video 👍
Thank you 👍

hi i dropped my grit guard accidentley on the ground would you suggest to change it? also do you think its best to have two microfiber wash mitts one for the top and another for the bottom ?
No need to change the grit guard. They're solid plastic and just rinse clean.
Yes, 2 mitts are better than 1

Great video Matt, I've recently bought the Turtlewax Redline after using Wonder wheels for the last few years. Yet to use it but do you know if I can use the turtlewax as a fallout remover on the paintwork?
I don’t see why not, dilute it for sure. I used to use diluted BH auto wheel aswell
What are all the types of wheel protections? Like are there wheel waxes, sealants, etc?
Wheel waxes, sealants, ceramic coatings
I used B&H wax on my wheels and it works great, effortless cleaning afterwards!
Good revue thanks.
Usually smart wheels but ran out in the job so got some of the mg all wheels and was really surprised
