I feel the pain of lost camera files, I filmed the rebuilding of my 5.3 for my YJ and was going to start posting videos on YT, turns out my brand new Gopro mostly just spits out corrupted files that even gopro couldn't help with. On the down cylinder try wet testing it and if it comes up a little bit try dumping about a quarter of a can of sea foam in the cylinder and letting it sit over night then spin the engine a few times and test again. The badlands are some nice trails, I used to go there as a kid as I am from the north west Indiana area.
@@FlawedOffroad mine airs up my tires faster than any of the other compressors in my group. Half of the other guys are looking to buy one of those right now. I also have my mounted under the hood, but not near the engine. I have it bolted where the old air inlet box went.
@@demmarcsxr we’re talking about the same crappy little red one? It takes 10 minutes per tire on mine to go from like 5 to 25. I have a dual compressor that isn’t mounted in the jeep that I used to air up most of the time(similar to maxi trac) that one is crazy fast like a minute per tire
2 minutes in and I am interested to watch the rest. Mine does this but it has done it through 2 engines, even after cleaning the “new” engine up a little and brand new head gasket. That was like 50k miles ago lol so let’s see what you come up with
I will also say my engine runs great. Coolant disappears somewhere but it has tons of spunk. It’s on tons and 40s and I wheel it often. Did like 30k road moles since June of last year. She runs great just spews oil when I’m at like 25-3k
yeah mine does most of its puking at higher rpm, its either blowby, a bad compression ring(not oil ring), or could be the head gasket between compression and oil passage. Either way its annoying but not bad enough yet for me to do any major repairs at this time. Ive been collecting stroker parts..@@andycocchia4202
I'm interested in that brake booster setup you have. One of my plans for my rig are Superduty axles. Did you do a video on that setup you got? If not, could you do a quick video on it? Would like to know what I'm going to be up against when i do the swap. It sounds to me like the rings on #5 might be going bad. It could possibly be the head gasket giving you a sign that its wanting to go out. Either way, unfortunately, the only way to know for sure is by pulling the head. I would say a valve stem seal, but your plug would be covered in oil if that were the case. That's the thing about the 4.0L. I'll run great even if it has issues, then just start running like crap.
I didn’t do a video about the brake booster per se but I did talk about it when I got it. I was rushing to get the jeep ready for smorr so didn’t video much. I believe its RT Offroad 31010 th-cam.com/video/8BCucWq_W5c/w-d-xo.html

Awesome man. Finally got my yj on my 78 ford dana 44 and disc brake 14 bolt. Just need brake lines and shocks before getting it new drivelines. What master are you using? Since I was dual disc I Settle on the 78 ford marquee with the 1 1/8 bore.
It was like $300 when I got it, as a last resort cause I couldnt get anything else to work for a damn. the yj double booster from a 95 that everyone raves about has a shorter rod to the pedal so you lose pedal throw. I tried 2 different boosters and 3 or 4 masters and an adjustable prop valve and no combination of them worked for crap.
I plan to add more stuff. I guess I skipped the hat because I have a fat head and normal hats dont fit me so I cant even wear one unless I custom order it haha

My 2.5 had the same problem. But I just put a new 2.5 in and decided to be done with it.

its actually my nice camera that does it when the battery dies... instead of just shutting off I lose the whole file
@@FlawedOffroadyeah that happens because the file needs the end command or the file gets corrupted.
Ah, a man of culture. Fantastic compressor. Love mine.
It’s not the best for airing up tires but it runs my locker which is all I ask of it. It overheats on about the third tire

A catch can fixed the oily filter on my XJ. I also use a weed eater gas filter to meter the air into the crankcae
i bought a catch can, thought about putting it on the ccv side cause that sends oil into the intake too. never did anything with it though
