- Randy gets called in to help a friend and finds himself faced with a dream scene that is just too good not to share. An incredible 1959 Porsche hidden in a Southern California garage emerges into the daylight after 38 years of hibernation.
Note: The car is available for sale! Bring your wide wallet, this one is not for the bargain hunter! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
If that doesn’t turn your crank, then check your pulse. Quote of the century Randy 😂
Randy your are a Goodman about taking care of the gentlemen. Hate those who prey on people that do not know what they have… thanks for helping him, he appears he needs it and could use the money. Great job Randy.
There's nothing like a pure survivor in mostly original condition! Awesome find, Randy! Thanks for taking us along.
Good for you, Randy! Like your Box, the person that’s willing to spend the most is the person that wants it the most, and that is the best person to make a new home for this dusty little treasure. Very, very cool!
Absolutely stunning find. They’re still out there 😳😍🤙👍
Like vintage American guitars, there just aren't that many classic cars that haven't ended up in some well-to-do hoarder's collection. Always a thrill to see one out in the wild. Thanks for taking us along, Randy. Expect you're on your way up to Monterey for Car Week. Have a blast and shoot some vids for us when you can. All the best from Santa Cruz.
That's great glad u helping with honesty integrity! Keep up the good work😊
What an adventure, and its being handled so well. Good luck finding the next caretaker and bringing us along on the ride.
You're a good man Randy! Really enjoyed the video. Whatever hes asking its worth all of it.
That really was a blast! Thanks for taking us along Randy and kudos for your high level of character.
Very Cool! That old man is a cork too. lol
He was awesome! Absolute jokester and such great energy.
The best 356A. It has had a good life already but interesting to se what it fetches. I bought my first 356A in the UK in 1961 for £115.
Holy shit is correct! Wow this was great to almost be there with you man!
How sweet is that ! Thanks for sharing Doing the right thing Randy !! Glad youre involved to see it into the right hands👍
Incredible find. I have a friend with a ‘59 356c. From time to time someone comes along and offers him an insulting amount for the car. Looking forward to see a follow up video.
Seriously cool find , nothing like an unrestored, original , dusty , garaged for decades classic car.
Good for you in helping the gentleman find a new home for the Porsche. Maybe do an update with the new owner?
You are a G I A N T asset to the automotive community and to the Earth in general. 🙏
Ahh bullshit… I’m just a dude that likes to wrench on dusty old crap. Ain’t nothing HUGE about that 😂😂. Thanks for the support though, very nice of you🙏
Never got into those cars that much myself, so I guess I better check my pulse... LOL
Splendid video, Randy! She's a beaut! All the very best finding the very best home for her! All the very best to you equally!
Many thanks!
Well here ya go again showing us a little piece of automotive history . I'm sure you know the VW under the skin as it were with a beautiful body . But can't wait to see what you do with the Honda civic . Now that is areal piece of car history being a 1 of 1 ... Keep up the good work and really appreciate you as a really honest person ...
Very beautiful car ❤️💐
Talk about “ Diggin em up !”
One of the most beautiful automotive designs ever in my opinion. It’s missing some hood trim and the Porsche badge and it has some round badge either wrong year or aftermarket. Sweet car.
I believe the idea of not cleaning it is a little far fetched. I’d service the car, fix all that is broken, get it cleaned and detailed and drive as is.
The hood emblem is from a hubcap...odd, but it is what it is. Definitely needs a detail and mechanical revival...but that will be up to the new owner!
You're a good man Randy.
Hey Randy, this is completely off topic but I just saw you on an old episode of the TV show "Picked Off" where teams of pickers compete against each other for a $10,000 prize. I was rooting for you! You didn't tell us you were a TV personality.
Picked Off was a blast! Check out Sticker Shock on Motortrend to see more “me” on TV.
Very cool car. I would love to see the decades of grime come off this car. I bet it would clean up nice.
1600S was 75 hp the S90 was introduced with the 356B. 59 saw the coupe, convertible D, and cabriolet. The Speedster was discontinued in 58. Some early convertible D’s were badged Speedster, then convertible D. I had a 59 1600S coupe back in the early seventies. Carbs are Zenith 32 NDIX. The air cleaners were like this on my car. My guess is it’s an original engine. The rust worm had me sell it. Otherwise great memories.A buddy of mine bought a California 356SC when they were still affordable and it was amazingly lacking in rust.
The vent windows either make this a rare car or later doors or window mechanism was added. According to what I have read, 356A’s did not have vent windows until they became an option in 1958. Later model doors will fit an “A”.
Did Cht, or did you tell Charlie? I think he made a $80k offer.
A couple things, this car has windowing’s, A cars didn’t have those (except for Carreras) and it has earlier seats (‘57 seats?)
Cool car, whoever ends up with it.
Make sure and save that barn dust!
Very valuable! 😂
Wash it!
I’m so jealous.
kudos
75 is where I would start the bidding.
We have had offers at $80k so far!
@@Carchaeology Outstanding!
It's been two weeks, I'm guessing this is already sold.
Yes, sold.
Randy have you found a buyer? I wanted this model to keep for my life time and pass it on to my children, wondering price range?
WOW

Just a word of caution. If you come across another Porsche or any other type of air cooled flat four, DO NOT jack the car up by using the engine as the means. Very poor practice.
I was at the back of the engine case at the mating point to the trans...with wood on top of the jack. Ive been working with air cooled cars since the 80's...never had an issue with that technique.
I have a service manual issued by Volkswagen of America. for Super Beetle, Beetle and Karmann Ghia. I have a 1970 Ghia. On the last page is this caution: "Never raise a VW by placing a jack under the engine or transmission. Doing so may ruin or seriously damage the light alloy castings from which these compounds are made."
You may have bee doing this for years, but according to VW, you are doing it wrong.

They were ugly and underpowered in the mid 70s when this guy bought it and now all this fan love garbage these days..good luck not for me
