I didn’t listen to their song for 1-2 years. I run into tear also. Nowadays still hard to go over some songs that lyrics are so touching. It was like feeling the pain that he had been through.

I agrees with yall on this. Lost got me hurt to remember him being gone but Fighting Myself made me remember how much he gave us power and feels like he's alive again. Perfect duo of these to release so we might all be able to move on. I love it. Good job guys 💯
Hope Chester knows that many people miss him so much. I agree! I remember, how I jumped and screamed in their concert in Bangkok. They went to Thailand 3 times. The first one ticket sold out so fast. The 2nd and 3rd time, I managed to get the ticket.
The Meteora 20th anniversary album is amazing, listening to them live, the demos they made etc. So great. Mike and Chester can not be touched, those two together is memorizing. You should check out Mikes Post Traumatic Album, he wrote it after Chester passing away, great album imo.
There is a story that Mike tells people that record producers come up to chester and tell him to leave everyone behind cause he is the voice and the face and everyone else will just drag him down. He told the producers that if they wanted him, they had to take everyone else cause he wasnt anything without everyone else
SO supposedly, they didn't release "Lost" because it was too similar in cadence and sound to Numb, which is the song they really wanted to highlight. Both that and this song are fucking GEMS
They were right, it is really similar to numb in the best way possible. It wouldn't have hit as hard back then, but released today it hits so hard with the feelings.

Dude! Linkin Park's song always HIT me HARD every single time, I stopped listening to them back in 2016, I had a cousin who loved Linkin Park we even went to see them together in 2011. His fave song was One Step Closer, he was like a second father to me in a way, and we connected so much through our love of music. Then on 1-2-16 he was killed when an 8ft by 8ft concrete wall fell on top of him, (he was a concrete cutter), I miss him every single day. I can't listen to Linkin Park anymore without bawling my eyes out, especially One Step Closer I can't get through that song without crying. This was no different even though this was an old song from them it hurts too much to listen to, I was able to get through the song but not without crying.
I think Mike said that they didn't even know Chester had done the vocals for this song, I think they either found it barely in these years or another time after the album
Literally no band in the world sounds like linkin park, the epitimy of unique. The two male overlapping harmonies are so rare after the 80s, let alone in a rock type backdrop. And nobody in the world has chesters, not only voice, but the passion fueling that voice that makes it so fucking powerful. One of a kind.
I love their experimental tracks. This track has both Mike and Chester harmonizing with each other which I love while Lost has more of Chester's vocals which are incredible. I can't decide what song I like more.
The lyrics and the sound and style of LINKIN PARK got our attention for the heaviness and the anger, and especially in our young years we felt like we were not alone, and it's only more amplified as an adult when you dive further into the lyrics and understand what they were saying you understood it before but you have a greater understanding now and it hits so so much harder looking back in life it makes you feel like you were never alone, even though you felt alone I'm almost 30 and they were about my age when they wrote this so many things makes sense about this album and their music at this point in their lives
One of the main reasons I like LP is because I think their music is that their songs all sound so different, especially compared to other bands /musicians. They changed their instruments, style and sound more rhan any other band that I know of. If there is a good band that switches it up more than LP did I would like to check them out.

this song honestly hit me harder than Lost due to Mike’s lyrics in this song. I think Lost hit me hard because of what i was going through at the time and hearing Chester’s voice again is what made me actually breakdown and cry.
Kyle and Eric...thank you so much for reintroducing my childhood band to me again. Especially this song, when I heard it for the first time I cried for a good 5 minutes, he was my idol, this band was the one I used to listen to with my mom and little brother. Such a beautiful and nostalgic feeling hearing them again.

Personally feel like this has a lot of Faint-ish vibes, just more slowed down and not as hard of breakdown. Still both a great song and rection regardless. I’m a year late, but here is your answer. Lost was finished all the way back in 2002 when they made the rest of Meteora. The other “lost demos” (Fighting Myself, More the Victim, etc) were worked on at the same time, but were never finished. Mike went back and did the final mixes in 2023 for the box set. But yeah, Lost is the exception. Lost was fully formed 20 years ago.
Honestly these songs could not come at a better time. Hearing Chester's voice again has been better therapy than actual therapy lately 😅🤘
