In this video, I'll be teaching you how to put custom firmware on your PS Vita/PS TV in quite possibly the easiest way I've ever seen, and it can all be done on the device itself! No computer needed, and no special firmware required!

My god man... You are the bees knees! THANK YOU! after 10 years of my launch 3g Vita having a broken screen, your easy to follow guides have inspired me to finally fix it and mod it. There are many other tutorials out there but you sir, are the only one iv seen to break it down simply and also go above and beyond on how to use the sd2vita, use the applications, and install everything. So finally, I can enjoy my $400 handheld again.

I didn’t want to go through all the computer to vita setting up again so I never fixed it. Kick ass info. Debating on doing this to my 2000 model tonight. Curious as to how much free space needed to install all these mods. I know I can just download games I own again, but I have a 64gig card damn near full, and an empty 8gig. Looking into the adapter now. Awesome vids 👍

Only problems I ran into was I did it with my 64gb memory card chock full off apps so I had the max 100 bubbles that the vita can display at once.
This prevented the Vita deploy app bubble and the Vitashell ITS installer bubbles as well so if anyone is in my position wipe 5 or so bubbles so they can generate when rebooting since alot of the times these processes rebuild your database and all your bubbles will be randomly sorted which sucks balls upon reloading.
To anyone getting the 0x80010005 error message when copying over the files which I was getting.
Use the FULL install of YAMT instead of the LITE version and make sure to keep the screen on.
Yep! That means no idling to dim screen or even screen off. It has to stay on which I managed to do by holding my vita with my thumb on the screen at all times so it senses touch whilst watching a movie and YT since copying over 64gb takes over 5 hours.

My vita is revived!! Well i messing with my vita clicking this and that and walla vita updated accidentally updated my vita to 3.74 and i dont have a pc. All the guide i looked up need pc. So thank you sir!!

Yup i not touching my vita until then haha. I'm having trouble on the sd2vita keep rewatching your video, maybe i missed something or done something wrong. Most likely on my part. Just a question can i still play my cartridge even if i stall the sd2vita?

I have PS Plus games spread across multiple memory cards and wondering if I would be able to use those post jailbreak.

No, that should be enough to put it on custom firmware, but I definitely recommend getting an SD2Vita soon!

1 - I have couple of storage ps vita cards can I replace them without effecting anything?
2- can I still use the multiplayers option with this update and use the ps store?
No worries!
Regular ps vita memory cards are tied to their respective system and will auto format if it's placed in a new ps vita. Sd2vita shoulde NEVER be removed from the system after its set up.
As long as you spoof your firmware to the latest firmware in the Henkaku settings, you will be able to use your ps vita online as normal.

Just purchased a vita for the first time (1000 series) with an 8gb Sony memory card. Is it advisable to not jailbreak using this card and go the sd2vita route? With a 1000 series if you swap out the memory card do you lose your jailbreak? Sorry if these are noob questions just trying to understand the optimal path.

I'm on the same permanent 3.60 firmware then you with your other psvita for years.
Is there any advantage in the new 3.65 CFW and VitaDeploy?
Honestly, if you are on 3.60 enso permanent custom firmware (one of my ps vita are as well, then you can already do a lot of everything. The real benefit to the new 3.65 enso is that it's easy to set up, including setting up the vita homebrew browser, PKGJ, the SD2VITA and Adrenaline. However, I would 100% not touch anything and keep it on 3.60 if you have an sd2vita set up already. Its kind of an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" situation lol.

Quick question - if I sign into the psn on a fresh device before hacking, and play any items obtained via pkgj, will any trophies earned synch with the psn correctly, or are those incompatible with running cfw?

Hey, love the video - but what may be a dumb question. I have a 1000 which I just purchased and love it. If I mod it to play emulators, specifically some older PSP games, can I continue to play original Vita carts? I've read different things online, so want to be sure if it's worth it.
I have a couple PSPs, so I'm not sure if I want to lose the ability to play regular games if I happen to pick one up.

Having a 1000 come's with it's own challenges. I'm speaking from experience because that's my main ps vita. To put it on custom firmware, you do need an official sony memory card, and the size of that will depend on how many games you can have on it. game carts are a plus, but if you plan on installing an sd2vita for more storage, those game carts are basically useless to you unless you plan on dumping the game carts and putting them on the sd2vita afterwards, which is also a plus. I have a 200gb micro sd card inside of my 1000's sd2vita, and that's plenty of room for everything i needed, and that card specifically is around $20. I would go that route, and all the videos on my channel will teach you how to do that aside from dumping games from a cartridge, that video still needs to be made lol.

Do you use Autoplugin 2 at all? I have the double tap issue with Adrenaline and I was told Autoplugin 2 has a fix but I'm not seeing any newer videos about it. Didn't know if you recommend it or if you have a better solution?

@jonathandavis3308 I explained it a lot better in my Vitashell video. The purpose of a Tai folder is to house all plugins and the custom firmware itself, and having conflicting Tai folders will result in you ps vita either not working right or crashing.

Aftrer installing henkaku, it just shuts off and no khenkaku setings sgow up. vita deploy does show up though

While doing the jailbreak (Because am going to connect it while modding) downloading games and DLC's from PKGJ, installing custome themes, using Adrenaline and playing android ports like GTA San Andreas ? Can you show how to get a Vita theme the custom theme once hacked doesn't work anymore they shut it down. Do you know another way to get a ps Vita. If you do can you make a video on it
Thats been something I've been researching in my spare time. The database for custom things got deleted and they don't want to fix it (which is understandable), but I'm working on reaching out to that team personally to see if I can try to help. As of right now though, no updates.
after a few days my vita deletes henkaku and i can't play games i installed with PKGJ. i now installed enso 3.65 cause i have 3.65 fw. i installed with help from your older video where you installed with pc and a filezilla client. i hope everything is actually permanent now. i did all the steps shown in this video. any other things to make sure everything stays like this forever?
So seeing as I have no hacking experience what does this do for the Vita? Does that mean you're able to download games for free?
i lost where i was a few times, and had to do the Vitadeply step like 3 times, because i did the "replace near" but it didnt download properly/replace properly? but when i hit normal download, nothing appeared, but i have a memory card...i think i know what i gotta do, just hope i dont have to do this EVERY TIME because i have a memory card and ive been following every step to a T >.>
Edit: i figured it out, must've not clicked what i had to originally, but im back on track and i got to completion, huge help and a LOT simplier then when i did this to my new 2ds XL

Absolutely! I've linked the vpk in the description of my Adrenaline/pkgj video, or just simply search up "Vitadeploy releases github" on Google, and you should be able to find it pretty easily!

Flash update should only be done while powered from the mains.

You absolutely can yes. Please watch this video and then go to the video on my channel that teaches you how to install PKGJ and Adrenaline. As long as you follow all the steps in this video and the other video I recommended, you will not loose any of your data and you will be able to get Tokyo Xanadu

My psvita already runs henkaku on 3.74 I have pkg and can play any vita game, but I forgot to install vita deploy, can I go through this process again and download just vita deploy?

So after everything and pkgj and adrenaline I downloaded 2 games went to open one of the games and now my screen froze and I tried to restart it and now it’s just showing a losing symbol and flashing a green light. What can I do to fix this ?
Hold the power button until it fully shuts off and turn it on again. It sounds like the PS Vita was just left in standby mode for a long time.

i think my vita is fucked, it stays on the henlo screen after i download it and is stuck on "exiting in 3" it gives solutions if it’s stuck on the screen but when i try those henkaku doesn’t show up in my settings

I was able to install Henkaku, Vita deploy isn’t working. Error C1-2741-4. Can’t reinstall. Memory card works fine.
Worked for me installing the 3.65 CFW but VitaDeploy, Vitashell and iTLS installer disappear off the Vita for some strange reason. I'm using a 2000 PS Vita btw.

You can download games yes, but only the ones that are on the PS Vita and the emulators for it, as well as the homebrew games. GTA 5 and other games like that can only be played through remote play.
