**Please read before commenting** When it comes to ports on VitaDB Downloader like GTA San Andreas and others, there are additional set up items you need to download to get them working, and I unfortunately can not show you/teach you how to do this, because it falls under the piracy side of things legally because you I would be showing you in a video how to download a games core files and source code, which is very illegal and will get my channel shut down. I also can not show you how to get Roms for the emulators for the very same reason, One other thing that I will mention however is, when it comes to running ported games like this, it requires you to over-clock your ps vita/ps tv, which your device can not handle doing for long periods of time, and usually results in your ps vita having a GPU crash. I will never teach you how to do something that can for sure mess up your device. That's the last thing I want to happen. Although playing GTA San Andreas on the PS Vita is a fun concept, I don't really recommend it. There are several other ROMs, Homebrew and other games to enjoy in its place that won't slowly deteriorate the lifespan of your PS Vita like GTA San Andreas would. @@pankozafanvirus100 Well there are methods/tutorials out there, there must be or there wouldn't be ports of those games on the archive, I guess we just need to go digging, cause I've downloaded several things that say "you need XYZ whatever to run this do you still want to?" so I pick yes, But now I'm not sure where to go from here. if anyone can drop a link it would be grande! also, it's not piracy, it's preservation, no one will ever be able to convince me otherwise.

I had actually done this a few times now, but I FINALLY got it jailbroken Thanks to your Videos and you were the only person to show how to use The PS Vita once I had finally gotten it! For the retroarch video, that's already in the works. As far as the videos on how the emulators work, I can definitely do that as well! Most of the emulators have the same functions as far as save states and load states go though. Once I teach you the basics of one emulator, a lot of them will have the same functions.

From what I've done in the past, you had to drop a file in the retroarch folder in your vitashell to change the interface, but I'll be dropping a video on it this weekend. It'll be a much faster installation than the vitadb one.
@@technic1109 can you make a video of you uninstalling retroarch? Is it as easy as just deleting the app or do I have to find system files elsewhere, if so where are those file I need to delete. I’ve heard that there is a Crazy Mac 20 gig download that has retroarch with a bunch of games, that’s what I’m interested in doing.

If the app is working fine, no need to delete. If problems do occur later on however, deleting the app and a quick reinstall will fix it. Hope this helps!
Another thing I wanted to ask is that I downloaded vitaDB and it downloaded sharkfood but then sharkfood kicks me out and just stops. It doesn’t continue after that. If I click the vitaDB bubble it just downloads sharkfood, opens sharkfood but then I get kicked out and it does nothing else.
I would try to uninstall both sharkfood and VitaDB and download vitaDB again from vitadeploy. If that doesn't work, give me some time to try to find the Sharkfood and VitaDB inside vitashell, because those source files may need to be deleted as well.

But I also had an issue prior to sharkfood where the psm stuff installed fine but the PS3 style package installer did not finish so I closed it and it just jumped right to sharkfood this is where the same thing happened to me as the OP. I uninstalled both vitaDB and sharkfood and when I reinstall vitaDB it will just instantly try to download/install sharkfood and once complete it opens briefly and just closes with an error in the top left that I can't read in time. The reason it didn't go initially I think is I didn't have PKGj installed, but even with it installed now I can't get the PS3 style package installer back to get that installed.

No worries! Not all of the games on Vitadb, some of the game ports require additional setup, and yup, you can get the emulators but the roms you would have to get yourself, and I can not teach how to do either of those unfortunately because it would show me pirating in a video.
Ok so I did it all, and it was all working perfectly, then I turned on my vita, it said it was updating or something, then I go into it and all the stuff was gone, the henkaku was still in the settings but everything else was gone, so I tried to redownload vitadeploy and it wouldn’t, so I factory resent my ps vita hopping somehow this would fix all my problems and I could just reinstall everything back after, but when I went to go download vitadiploy again it showed the same error, please help my I don’t know what to do.
I am very sorry, because you did a factory data reset, you must do a fresh install of everything now. You must update your system and downgrade/install custom firmware again. If you have an SD2Vita, I highly recommend making a backup of all of your files that were on there, and then format the micro SD Card to do a fresh install as well. I'm very sorry that this has happened to you, but in the future, please do not immediately go the route of doing a factory data reset, sometimes doing another reboot will usually fix the issue. From the original issue, It sounded like the SD2Vita was maybe removed at some point? Is that correct?
And then also I don’t mind going through the set up process again, I just the other day set my vita up the the hack, but it’s resetting the system that I don’t know how to do

Okay, I downloaded the emulator, linked my Vita up to the PC, downloaded the ROMs to it, but I can't find them anywhere. I'm having this issue with mGBA and Daedalusx64. Please help. I'm getting really frustrated.
I can not teach you how to do this in a video unfortunately because it falls into the piracy side of things, but I will tell you that your answer is actually a Google search away 😅
If this happens, please verify that you have enough storage, the internal 1gb storage of a ps vita 2000 isn't enough, or try to restart your ps vita and try again. If sharkfood wasn't installed and vitadb downloader still works, then proceed to use vitadb as normal.
If you are still able to use the Vitadb as normal, then it was just more of a glitch. If not, check to see if you have the latest version of vitadeploy installed. I've seen someone else in the comment section with a similar problem.
Absolutely! I think a re-upload may be in order, but then again, vitashell itself needs its own explanation as well, so I'll make a vitashell deep dive video!
I explained it in one of my videos. I'm using a ps tv combined with an HDMI splitter to get rid of the HDCP, a capture card and 2 hdmi cables. It's an absolute nightmare of a set up that I don't recommend anyone do because all of these parts combined are way too expensive, but it provides the best results for capturing the ps vita's screen and audio. However, a similar result can be achieved on the ps vita by enabling a plugin, but you won't be able to record the audio. A better version of this is something called a Vita Dock, but this is something you have to build yourself with a raspberry pi.

Remove the vitadb downloader app and the sharkfood app. Turn off your device completely and turn it back on, download the app again and try again. Let me know if that works for you. If not, ill need a bit more information about your device. Hope this helps!

I know you said you can’t make a video on Ports because of legal reasons, but can you tell me where I can go to find the information? You said that most of them require a set up to run it and I have no idea where to look for that info.
It's kind of a double edge sword. You're basically looking up illegal content, and most of that stuff requires you to overclock your ps vita, which will result in your ps vita having multiple gpu crashes, which can very quickly shorten the life of your ps vita. I don't want to teach anyone about it because the end result will be your ps vita getting damaged, and I'm not going to teach anyone anything that has to do with that if that is the end result. I apologize, but I hope you understand.

At 1:28 you go to "vitadb downloader" which is situated below vita shell on your device. On mine though it's "vita homebrew browser" instead? What should I do?? Thanks
You may have an older version of Vitadeploy installed. Delete your current vitadeploy app, go to the internet browser on your ps vita and go to the following website: jailbreak.psp2.dev Then after it goes into the bootstrap menu, click on the "Install VitaDeploy" option. You can then exit the bootstrap menu and you will then be able to follow the guide. Hope this helps!

@@ramsteele904 Look no further than my channel if you wanted to get into modding! There are full start to finish tutorials to get the full experience out of a PS Vita on custom firmware. As for your question, it's more of a preference thing. Technically, when it comes to downloading those types of items, this is under the assumption that you own the physical item as well, but that being said, the website that hosts the items are who "they" usually go after, not the people doing the downloading. It is a bigger issue to distribute rather than to partake in the distribution. It's more preference of whether you want to use a vpn or not. Hope all this helps!
Thank you for the awesome tutorials on this! I do have one issue though and that's with VitaDB Downloader. It goes through and installs PSM runtimes ok but at sharkfood one of two things happen, either it will freeze on downloading sharkfood and stay at 0% or show downloading sharkfood 0% then extracting sharkfood 0% then installing 0% but then exits out of the application. It did not install sharkfood at all. I went through the comments and saw someone else had a similar issue and I followed your tutorials. I check there is only one tai folder in the correct place, I have a 256GB SD and formatted like you showed. Any ideas on how to fix this? Can I manually install sharkfood? Looking forward to your next videos!
No worries, and sorry for the late reply. When this happens, it could be one of 2 things: 1. The wifi temporarily had an error an the instilation failed. 2. The app glitched on the install, and it was actually installed correctly but didn't show it happen. If you can download things from vitadb and they work, than the installation worked. If it still doesn't work, than a full reinstall is necessary for vitadb/sharkfood Hope this helps!

It is absolutely safe to link your PSN with a PS Vita on custom firmware, and it is near impossible for your account to be banned. I say near impossible because there are actually 2 guaranteed ways for your account to be banned: 1. Using VitaCheat online 2. Hacking in Trophies to your PSN It basically boils down to you trying to hack/cheat anything online will 100% get you banned. That's you trying to hack an online server, which from a cybersecurity student standpoint is a really bad idea considering there's no way to hide yourself as your doing this. I am not talking about playing a downloaded Item from PKGJ or any ROM, I'm talking about if you are using a cheat that gives you unlimited health in an online game or trying to hack in trophy completions on a game.

@@LilWheez No worries, always happy to help! Both will theoretically work as storage devices, but only one can be used as the main storage device "ux0" if that makes sense. You always want the storage device with the largest storage amount as the ux0.
@@technic1109 had to reformat my memory card then reinstall everything and after had to manually install PSM files one by one before reloading vitaDB and then sharkfood! Worked! Try that. But now I have another issues updated flycast to the newer version but my games show greyed out and no longer showing as a core in retro arch

If this happens, please verify that you have enough storage, the internal 1gb storage of a ps vita 2000 isn't enough, or try to restart your ps vita and try again. If sharkfood wasn't installed and vitadb downloader still works, then proceed to use vitadb as normal.

I would try installing retroarch for them, unless you're saying that retroarch isn't working for snes.

If you are still able to use the Vitadb as normal, then it was just more of a glitch. If not, check to see if you have the latest version of vitadeploy installed.

What exactly do you use to record your Vita screen?
I explained it in one of my videos. I'm using a ps tv combined with an HDMI splitter to get rid of the HDCP, a capture card and 2 hdmi cables. It's an absolute nightmare of a set up that I don't recommend anyone do because all of these parts combined are way too expensive, but it provides the best results for capturing the ps vita's screen and audio. However, a similar result can be achieved on the ps vita by enabling a plugin, but you won't be able to record the audio. A better version of this is something called a Vita Dock, but this is something you have to build yourself with a raspberry pi.

I tryed downloading the db downloader and I don’t know if I’m doing it wrong but it would load fine on till the sharkfood app,and when it try’s to install it never does.can anyone help me out with this issue I know it takes a while but I would wait and nothing happens.I’ve waited over 15 minutes and nothing so please if anyone knows how to fix it this issue I will really appreciate it.thanks
Remove the vitadb downloader app and the sharkfood app. Turn off your device completely and turn it back on, download the app again and try again.

Thank you for replying to me.I did exactly what you said and still it does that,I even went as far as deleting everything and factory reset my vita.I own a psp vita 1000.went through the whole process again,redownload everything app as well as jailbreaking the vita but everytime I open the do vita download app it would go through the first two phases but when it try’s to download the shark food app it freezes.any help would be appreciated once again thank you for your help

I know you said you can’t make a video on Ports because of legal reasons, but can you tell me where I can go to find the information? You said that most of them require a set up to run it and I have no idea where to look for that info.
It's kind of a double edge sword. You're basically looking up illegal content, and most of that stuff requires you to overclock your ps vita, which will result in your ps vita having multiple gpu crashes, which can very quickly shorten the life of your ps vita. I don't want to teach anyone about it because the end result will be your ps vita getting damaged, and I'm not going to teach anyone anything that has to do with that if that is the end result. I apologize, but I hope you understand.

Good afternoon! As long as you're spoofing to the latest firmware, It's actually near impossible to get your account banned. I say near impossible because there are actually 2 guaranteed ways to get your account banned:
1. Hacking in trophies
2. Using Vitacheat online

At 1:28 you go to "vitadb downloader" which is situated below vita shell on your device. On mine though it's "vita homebrew browser" instead? What should I do?? Thanks
You may have an older version of Vitadeploy installed. Delete your current vitadeploy app, go to the internet browser on your ps vita and go to the following website:
jailbreak.psp2.dev
Then after it goes into the bootstrap menu, click on the "Install VitaDeploy" option. You can then exit the bootstrap menu and you will then be able to follow the guide.

As for your question, it's more of a preference thing. Technically, when it comes to downloading those types of items, this is under the assumption that you own the physical item as well, but that being said, the website that hosts the items are who "they" usually go after, not the people doing the downloading. It is a bigger issue to distribute rather than to partake in the distribution. It's more preference of whether you want to use a vpn or not.

Thank you for the awesome tutorials on this! I do have one issue though and that's with VitaDB Downloader. It goes through and installs PSM runtimes ok but at sharkfood one of two things happen, either it will freeze on downloading sharkfood and stay at 0% or show downloading sharkfood 0% then extracting sharkfood 0% then installing 0% but then exits out of the application.
It did not install sharkfood at all. I went through the comments and saw someone else had a similar issue and I followed your tutorials. I check there is only one tai folder in the correct place, I have a 256GB SD and formatted like you showed. Any ideas on how to fix this? Can I manually install sharkfood?

No worries, and sorry for the late reply. When this happens, it could be one of 2 things:
1. The wifi temporarily had an error an the instilation failed.
2. The app glitched on the install, and it was actually installed correctly but didn't show it happen.
If you can download things from vitadb and they work, than the installation worked.
If it still doesn't work, than a full reinstall is necessary for vitadb/sharkfood

Yup! Make a folder in the ux0 and add roms to that, and then scan that directory in retroarch or any emulator that you are using.

It is absolutely safe to link your PSN with a PS Vita on custom firmware, and it is near impossible for your account to be banned. I say near impossible because there are actually 2 guaranteed ways for your account to be banned:
1. Using VitaCheat online
2. Hacking in Trophies to your PSN
It basically boils down to you trying to hack/cheat anything online will 100% get you banned. That's you trying to hack an online server, which from a cybersecurity student standpoint is a really bad idea considering there's no way to hide yourself as your doing this.
I am not talking about playing a downloaded Item from PKGJ or any ROM, I'm talking about if you are using a cheat that gives you unlimited health in an online game or trying to hack in trophy completions on a game.

@@LilWheez No worries, always happy to help! Both will theoretically work as storage devices, but only one can be used as the main storage device "ux0" if that makes sense. You always want the storage device with the largest storage amount as the ux0.

When installing sharkfood, the ps Vita reboots and I have to redownload everything otherwise I get an error when opening apps

No, Roms are not in the folder. You have to find your own roms unfortunately. It would be illegal for me to provide them.

Sometimes Vitadb itself has issues on their end. It's not working for me as well. Give it some time.
@@technic1109 had to reformat my memory card then reinstall everything and after had to manually install PSM files one by one before reloading vitaDB and then sharkfood! Worked! Try that. But now I have another issues updated flycast to the newer version but my games show greyed out and no longer showing as a core in retro arch
