    Have it and love it. Use it now for long runs and the it's effortless, to be honest. Without trying I can run 30-45 seconds faster per mile. Would really like to see the full Lightstrike pro in the next version of the Boston. That would be a world beater, IMHO.

    • @EDDBUD
      @EDDBUD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have to agree. The efficient nature of the cushion here does help out especially with my recent injury and loss of strength.

    • @daveaskew2105

      The Boston is an awful shoe - normal lightstrike is crap and the plate directly under the inner sole makes the ride very hard and dead....I think the Takumi Sen 8 will be the next great shoe ......

      @@daveaskew2105 I have the Boston 10 and for me, it's an excellent shoe, especially if you have a mid to fore foot strike. And very durable. Like everything else in life, it's good for some and not for others.

    You know you are a shoe addict when you watch reviews of shoes you have no interest in buying. Haha! Nevertheless, I am developing the opinion that racing shoes and what works for each person is a complex affair that includes their individual biomechanics, skill level, and running/racing goals. My T-Shirt says it all, "In my mind I am a Kenyan, in my legs I am a chubby white guy." People have commented how I am not chubby at all to which I say just compare me to a Kenyan, you get the picture. ;-)

    Love my Prime X ❤️
    ..and it's undernourished little brother the AAAPro2 ☺️
    It's become my go-to shoe to bounce my 55 year old legs down the road
    I use it for easy, long and intervals.
    A true super shoe! 👍❤️👊

    I completely love these shoes, ignoring the trend of knocking these shoes, for me they are super fun and super comfortable to run especially coming back from 5 weeks out, I just enjoy running in these from tempo to steady run and I agree edd they don’t feel dangerous when running at all 😃

    I had no idea it had that outsole - it feels like that got lost in all the initial shouting of "Clown shoes! Clown shoes!" when they were released. I can totally see the Adios Pro 3 having that outsole for sure, and I love it.
    And as someone who thought that Spirit World Field Guide was one of the best releases of 2020, great to see the props for Garbology Edd! Haven't got my copy yet but been listening to the full thing online over the last week and very much enjoying it. Great call!

    I definitely don't *need* these shoes but I definitely *WANT*! I'm no racer but I do run around 80 miles per week (around 60% on the road and the rest on trails) and I like to rotate and "taste" different flavors of great running shoes. The sheer craziness of the Prime X makes me want it, if only for a 10-mile run every other week.
    Not sure where this would fit in amongst the three general road-running categories I have: all-out speed, daily training, and recovery/easy. It seems the Prime X has about 33% of each! Fascinating!

    • @EDDBUD

      @@EDDBUD Hi Ed! That's my real name as well! :) Seems you need to give the new Prime X Strung a run and a review. The new upper seems to take the ride, comfort, and overall experience to a higher level.

    Really happy to see that someone love this shoe as much as i do ! I’m always looking forward running with these more than the next %2, the metaspeed sky or any other pair i own, it is heavier but you don’t feel the weight, it’s versatile, effortless, forgiving for the tired legs, dynamic,.... everything you’ll ask from a running shoe ! Definitely not for recovery runs but perfect for steady / long / tempo workouts, the grip is fantastic in wet conditions.... i’m even thinking about buying a second pair !

    Have to second some of the comments about Adidas getting the Boston to mimic this (at the legal stack height).
    I've seen it in person and it's daunting consider how much height one gains with it on. 😅

    When I tried the shoe on, the tongue didn't actually cover all the distance between the lace holes on each side along the whole thing. There would always be a spot where the laces were more or less laying directly on my sock. I sent it back because that seemed too weird given what the shoe cost.

  • @Prinniev
    @Prinniev 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Purchased mine for half the price during the flash sale, still expensive though. I'm having problems with the tongue due to the stitching on the sides, it folds and bunches when I lock them laces. Still, the fit and stability is perfect for me. 😊

    I actually found these to work well enough for me even though i over pronate. the midsole is biased to roll laterally like the adios pro 2 in the forefoot so it kind of works against my pronation making my stride pretty neutral. Still a pretty unstable shoe though, wouldn't want to race in them.

    I feel like the Adios Pro 2 is almost too high of a stack. I feel wobbly when I run in them at lower speeds (at higher speeds they really come into their own) which is why I cannot wait for the takumi 8. It’s like the racing flat version of the Adios Pro 2 and the Pro X. Not sure why I’d ever use the Pro X for. Recovery days maybe? Just seems too tall and I worry I’ll roll my ankle in them.

    Out of all my super shoes, the adizero adios pro are my least favorite ride. I'm leaning toward my endorphin pro or alphafly as my favorite running shoes at the moment.

    • @jp05598
      @jp05598 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can’t wait to try my alphafly. I had to go half size down, I’m a 9 in almost every shoe but I had a lot of extra room in these. 8.5s should be here tmrw. Endorphin pro doesn’t do it for me, I honestly like the speeds more than the pro

    Disappointed you didn't go more in depth to compare it to the Adidas Adizero adios pro 2. I was hoping you would be more definitive. You did seem to insinuate that you found it to be an easier ride than the pro 2. But then you said you didn't consider it to be a race shoe like the pro 2. Do you think you will do similar times in both shoes?

      I talked about how I won’t be racing in it and how I was enjoying it for the running economy. But I won’t race in it. Too much stack compared to the Adios pro 2. That’s still the better shoe to me.
