The laptop industry has almost stopped making configurable/upgradable laptops. Now a days its all 13/14 inchers with a 1 or 2 ports and soldered on RAM and no number pad. Gaming laptops are better speced, but they make them so ugly, as if they are required to be ugly by law. And they still lack number pad most of the times. Where are the laptops for developers/creators who need beefy machine. Having 2 DIMM slots was a norm till a few years back till Apple set the horrible trend of soldered on RAM. P17 is a great laptop, but quite pricey. I would not even be considering spending this much if laptops today still had 2 DIMM slots as a standard feature. But that's not the case, so I am here going through P17 reviews.

Ordered this beast today. Can't wait to get it. Looking forward to not having to hide in my office to code...Xeon processor with ECC RAM in a portable setup is a legit big data coding rig. Cheers!

Hi, just curious. Which one has better performance the ThinkPad P17 (Xeon/64GB Ram/RTX A5000) or the new MacBook Pro (M1Max/10-core CPU, 32-core GPU/64GB unified memory)?

@@nischalshrestha2611 p17 might be your best bet because of Lenox support and reliability. It's not as powerful as the speccd out legion 7 gpu, but if you're not doing gaming, gpu processing you won't notice. In fact the p17 comes with gen 4 ssd. So read and write speeds would be better. Last year legion 7 had major build issues. U won't have that problem with the p17 at least not for the next 10 years or so.

You must like yourself a lot to spend you time in front of the camera talking and not showing the computer itself.
