    That's a beast... It's more than what you need for sound mixing.... It's much more for engineering design.... It's a mobile workstation...

      from my experience on laptops always go overkill with the CPU (H type) because first it ages second is when it has to push you'll get fan/coil noise and you can get problems, not the case when you go overkill CPU stays at 30% max, no possible problem, slower aging, less bugs less problems, completely silent laptop.

    I'm glad you got a Lenovo ThinkPad, I've also bought a ThinkPad T15g which is similar to P15, like P17 but with a 15 inch screen. These machines can be upgraded to up to 128 GB of RAM and have up to two SSD for storage, they are beast and fast. Too much power and they can be upgraded. I love ThinkPad, it is a great investment. Really good video, enjoy your new P17!

      Great computer! I have more than enough RAM for the things I am doing. I wanted to treat myself and have super speed lol. Wow that's good to know! That's a crazy amount of power, and I respect that they let you upgrade it at such a high level! They are definitely one of the best ones I found!
      Thanks I sure will! You enjoy yours too! XD

    SWEETIE PLEASE DON'T DROP IT! IT'S VERY BIG AND VERY POWERFUL!

  • @MuzeInspiration

    What about performance? Do you mix music easily with it without getting drop outs and lagging?

    • @MirandaMulkey
      @MirandaMulkey  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It works excellent for mixing music! It's a huge step up from my old computer that I used to have to freeze the tracks so they wouldn't lag, and now I don't have to!
      The only downfall is that it does get loud at times because of the fans when it overheats, but a cooling pad helps that problem a lot. Thankfully the fans don't go off when I record. I think that's the only thing I dislike about it, but it is a very powerful laptop.
      Hope this helps!

    Hi Miranda, can you tell me your thoughts on using the P17 for music production as I am thinking of buying one. Thanks.

    • @MirandaMulkey
      @MirandaMulkey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey! I am really happy with my P17 because it is super fast and a huge upgrade from what I originally had!
      There's only a couple cons.
      1. It does get very loud sometimes if the system is working hard or if you are searching the web. Somehow it always magically stops at the moments I have been recording lol. When I got a cooling pad it did seem to help the loudness issue to where it wouldn't do it as often, because it wouldn't overheat.
      2. The screen is more wide being 17 inches which was good because I wanted to see a bigger screen when working on long projects, but it will be heavier than some laptops, and more bulky. For me it is fine because my instruments are in different rooms, so it was important to have a laptop for me. In the future this may change, if I ever decide to get a huge music room with all my instruments in one place! I might get a desktop, but for now my space is limited so I am very happy with what I've got.
      It all depends on your personal preferences, and your musical identity as far what you use it for most and if you are taking the laptop on the road with you more or just your personal studio. It is a very powerful machine, and really I have no other complaints! I love all of its features, and it's the highest quality I have ever had! It's one of the best laptops out there!
      I hope this helps, and you get the best computer for your wildest studio dreams! XD

    I bought the smaller P15 version of this, but i didn't see it irl yet because in Germany all stores are closed due to corona. So i really hope i don't regret ordering without touching/seeing it irl first :/

      Oh man! I am sorry to hear that! It has been a tough year for sure!
      When I touch this laptop I can tell that it's durable and made with quality. Even some of the keys on the other laptops were more plastic like. These are so smooth and feel thicker if that makes sense. I bet you will love it!
      I wish you luck on your new laptop! XD

    • @MirandaMulkey
      @MirandaMulkey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's still doing really well! I am happy with it! The only thing it is loud at times, but my cooling pad helped that. It is heavier for carrying around but I mostly keep it on my desk! It's super fast though! Really a high quality laptop. XD

    Great choice on this Lenovo P17! 👌 nice unboxing vid thanks for sharing, keep us updated on how this is working for you on your work flow 😀 👍 The Dell XPS 17 is a good computer but for your needs this is more appropriate. If you didn't do music production XPS would be good.

    Miranda thank you for the post. I have a nice PC but most of my work comes from just using a standard Blue Yeti mic and a C922 camera. I'm looking to get a new camera soon though. Hoping to do some higher quality art, etc.

      @MirandaMulkey  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Donnie, of course! :D I have heard good things about Blue Yeti mics! A new camera will be exciting! XD
      I find when I just enjoy creating my art, it always improves over time! When you are loving what you do time flies, and things drastically get better even if we don't realize it little by little.

    Thanks for sharing video! I am also thinking for buying this laptop for software development, I like the specs. Tell me please how it is working under high load when you working in your program or converting video. What do you think about fan noise? Is it very loud? How is it working when you just browsing the web: quiet or loud? What are the exact specs of this machine or link to it? Is it trottling under loading cpu 100%? And I would very appreciate if you could help me run test open source project on Android Studio to see how fast it will compile app comparing to my work desktop pc(you can share video on your channel if you want) ? I can help you with installing all of that it will take max 1 hour. Thanks.

    For storage you can upgrade upto 10tb which is overkill for most of professional.

I also baught myself a refurbished samsung galaxy tab a8, 32 gb 8.0 inch screen, also stuck a 128gb micro sd card into it, put an aumor case with screen protector on it. also plan to buy myself a slc enterprise industrial sata server ssd.

      I agree I wanted to invest in something really nice that I can keep a very long time.
      I wanted a smooth and fast computer with no problems, so overkill is what I went with.
      It is nice to treat yourself too!
      I believe it because I had my old laptop for about 7 years. So no telling how long this one will last!
