  • Lessons from my first craft fair! This experience taught me so much about selling and setting up the display for my small business. So I talk about what I'd do differently for the next market so you can be better prepared than I was. Shop & support women makers → bit.ly/HandmadeYarn
Here are my top 10 craft fair tips for beginners:

I love your design aesthetic with all the soft natural colours! Where did you get that lovely wooden display sign? It looks great. Good market stall tips too. One quick way of creating a low cost branded sign is printing off your logotype and putting it in a nice A6/A5 frame that matches your brand.

I'm so nervous because I signed up for a market before having an online shop. I have most of the setup like a tent but haven't done a mockup yet. It's half secondhand clothes and goods and half my art. Wish me luck! It's July 28th. 🍓

When it comes to Venmo, make sure if you are using it for a business that you have a business account you're using. If you use your personal account you are violating your terms of service with Venmo.

TFS. We did markets for years but haven't in the last few. Been thinking about getting back in to it.

Thank you!! I signed up for my first market and I’m so nervous! How much inventory did you have/sell?? I have less than a month to prepare and not a lot of inventory. I’m crocheting my fingers off until then to add more, but just curious! Also, what sold the best for you?

How much product is enough and when is the best time to start making. I always told I should have a shop. I literally only make one or two things of each item.

So I think having a variety is probably better strategy than making dozens of the same design. It’s hard to know what will be a best seller without having a good sized offering. I just started so i’m far from an expert but I think having 1-2 of each item is a good place to start!

I also have a QR code to my linktree, I’ve found people scan the QR code rather than taking a business card now. I have it standing up next to my business card 😊
