About This Video: Point & Shoot Cameras are usually not too hard to fix. That being said there are several problems that I might be able to figure out how to fix. I took a chance and bought Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ80 from a ebay seller to see if I could fix it and make a good 4K camera for my family.

Thank you so much! Your video is a marvel of economy- it contains so much information in very little video time. I became addicted to the TH-cam frame forward and backward keys! ("." and ",")
This appears to be the solution for the "focus error" problem commonly encountered with Lumix zoom cameras after a few years' use. In our case it was certainly not dropping or abuse. Clearly the problem originates from dirt (or possibly fragments of nylon) getting stuck between the nylon nut and its drive screw in the focus assembly.
Our camera (Lumix ZS60) just stopped working suddenly, displayed "focus error" when turned on and became wonky about retracting the zoom lens- every time you turned it on, the lens would go in and out, and then stay out when you turned it off. Not being experienced with this kind of repair, it took me about 4 hours.
For assistance using this video, here are a few notes for "gotchas" I encountered during the repair:
    1) to get the screw with the white nylon nut out of the cavity it's in, great care is required due to the shortness of the ribbon cable attaching the motor/screw/nut assembly to the lens body. The ribbon appears to be soldered to the lens body (?) and pulling too hard seems likely to damage this connection. Carefully roll the motor around until the ribbon is at the best geometry that allows you toslowly and gently work the end of the screw out along the easiest path inside the cavity (the nut is likely near the end of the screw, making this harder).
    2) If the nut has excessive friction with the screw, you will find that turning the nut also turns the screw (the screw being the driveshaft of the motor). You will have to hold the screw at one end to keep it from turning while you rotate the nut. After working the nut enough, it will be possible to let go the screw while you turn the nut to move it back and forth on the screw. This ensures the nut is free enough. I tried to wipe away from the screw/nut any gunk/fibers that appeared during this process, especially when the nut reaches the end of the screw.
    3) When you re-insert the screw into its cavity, you should move the nut down close to the motor (as shown in the video- if you watch closely). This makes it (A) easier to insert the screw in the first place, given the shortness of the ribbon cable; and (B) easier to line up the square tab on the nylon nut with the slot it needs to be in (runs down one side of the cavity). This also makes it easier to find the actual slot, which is not marked; luckily the square nut tab really only fits one way.
    4) A mysterious step in the video is when the speaker/microphone assembly disappears. The two wires for this assembly connect the motherboard to the camera body and seem fragile. It is therefore helpful to detach this assembly from the motherboard, freeing the motherboard and allowing it to be set aside as done in the video. Since I never did figure out how to do this, I was forced to leave it attached and be very careful in subsequent steps, to avoid breaking the wires.
Again, thank you for this amazing and very useful video! Definitely a more challenging repair, but very satisfying when it worked!

Fantastic video, really wish you had the model listed in the title instead of a generic "broken 4k camera." There aren't any other ZS50-ish camera repair videos on YT that I've found, other than some repairs for a ZS30, but Panasonic made changes since that model was released.

You are absolutely wrong and the white part you have taken off is very important part for focus, now you won't be able to get focus, the part push the lens and take off for focusing operation.
