Hey, what about a pre-build challenge? Build a city with a set amount of money, like 5 million. Then pre build everything, using same settings, once the money is used up, start the time, and watch the city grow by itself, no touch, you can only zone land after building, thats it! challenge another youtuber and see who can build the most profitable city. Who ever the most money or least debt wins!!! Wow how fun! (Of course all items must be unlocked right away) :P
True though that curve radius getting a bit tight right before a terminal located at the end of the line anyway isn't exactly unheard of in real life either not much point in having a curve that can support speeds far higher than a train could pass through it without being in danger of running out of rail anyway.
this map really reminds me of my hometown. there was one big city on the coast, and tons of tiny little towns surrounding it. the diverse landscapes too, except for the desert.
Funny you mention having abandonments despite having no abandonment on, I'm having the exact same issue. Entire industrial parks abandoned because nobody to sell goods to and shopping districts not having enough people to sell to. Thankfully it was mostly in areas of the city I was never bothered truly detailing.
I love this series and the railyard layout.... I wouldn't change it Also congrats on the HUGE influx of subscribers! You're up 10k since the DLC?! I voted for team A for the buildoff... I think a lot of people found your channel from that I liked the Sydney inspired skyline!
Okay I just started watching this series, and the oilfield being near the downtown and also being uphill from it urks me, pump jacks shouldn’t be any where near a big populous, because of the H2S gasses they sometimes produce, now refineries are usually closer to the city.
I wouldn’t have placed the oil storage close to the maintenance buildings especially in the risk of fire, I’d have put a bit of distance between the oil storage and the maintenance buildings
When you build the neighborhood along the coast, you should name it Mar Vista which means sea view in Spanish. If not the neighborhood maybe you can create a small coastal town instead and name it Mar Vista.
On that last little shot you did over the planned commercial hub (CBD), where that light rail comes up from the freeway, made me think you could play around with a pedestrian only mall with a lght rail running through the centre (think Bourke St mall in Melbourne). I'm only new to your channel but have you made something like that in the past?
If you're approaching the city from the mountain area (near the commercial end of the map) it appears that you do not have access to the city from the highway.
I'd like to use this map but the cliff texture is really dark for me. I'm really new to map themes so probably something I'm doing wrong but any idea how to fix it? Loving the series!
I tried downloading the map and when I opened on my computer, it looks no where near as detailed as the look you have. What am I doing wrong. Specs for my PC: Processor: Intel Core i5 - 4440 CPU 3.10GHz, Quad Core Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTC 1050Ti RAM: 16.0GB Display: Dual 24" 1080p Displays Any ideas as to why it looks so bad on my computer?
Don’t you have to have the oil resource there already to get it to produce oil? I tired doing ore and oil but the ground completely runs out of resources on the first night I set it up, I don’t see any way to make a permanently working oil industry area? The farm and forest industries are the only ones I can get to keep producing.
You can make import oil industries, where they use oil from outside, but that often doesn't make as much money (I think). You could always just use the infinite oil and ore mod included with the game
I build leases for oil company's and we build lots up in the hills. Just more dirt work to level out the lease. What he built isn't realistic at all though. At least not for the fields up in Canada. Nothing is that crowded together.
Why don't you have a industry meter a d biffa just had a discovery about the normal city skyline industry you can double zone and make them work for whatever industry your going for
You have to remember that most of the TH-camrs that play this game have it sped up when displaying. When you have a lot of mods and assets, the game will run very slow. So, yes, you can run it the same as he does....slow :) If you run Vanilla, you'll get much higher FPS.
😂Is crazy man I got this game on my Xbox one x 🙄THINKING it was going to look like this but is ugly so this time I'm getting a ibuypower pc 😍 And finally play this game as it should be 😇
Temptation to load more mods and assets I shall resist! I just deleted 200 assets and some mods as something was crippling the laptop! One mod I'd be interested in is whatever allowed you to change the height of props last episode with the logs. I've got Moveit and Prop Anarchy but when I change the height of an abandoned truck in map editor, it always raises and lowers the land node too! Is it because I'm in map editor not game, or am I missing a mod?
@@danielcrowe8748 No, I put it down and move it to the road. But the bottom half of the truck overlaps. I would need to raise the truck without raising the road too.

@@explodingmongoose529 nah, there would be 1000 us troops there. And there would be a civil war in the country because of that
Sometimes you don't need tons of detail to make something look good. I like everything you build so far, keep it up :)
I would have put the oil field in the desert. Maybe a second one can end up being there at some point :)
mmmm. dessert.
desert has 1 's' because you want to get through it fast, dessert has 2 s's because you want to enjoy it slowly.
@@RobertSavello Gotta love my autocorrect on the phone.
That railroad bend is quite dramatic, I'm glad you changed it. :D Maybe a few old dead-end tracks to some local industries?

Great series! I am really happy you finally reworked that unrealistically curved train line to that depot, it really stood out like a sore thumb.
i love this series it brightens my day
train tracks are mostly parallel to a trainhub so you could do that and also use one way tracks for details
love this series

Are you intentionally leaving out half of the highway ramps?
You should make a commuter train route between towns, it would really look nice with some rail traffic
Bon Bon B just critiqued your map! 😁
Idea: have a really old-fashioned european neighborhood called "Oltsike"
can you pleas make a version of the map without mass transit?
i wish this could be a daily series, or even every 2 days..
When you build the neighborhood along the coast, you should name it Mar Vista which means sea view in Spanish. If not the neighborhood maybe you can create a small coastal town instead and name it Mar Vista.

I haven’t! And I might!

Correct me if im wrong, but I think in almost all of your creations you can see some kind of gta V inspiration :D
If you're approaching the city from the mountain area (near the commercial end of the map) it appears that you do not have access to the city from the highway.
There's a couple places where highway exit/entrance ramps are missing. I'm curious about this myself.
What US state do you think this would be in, I'd guess Washington
Kind of looks like Los Santos

I think an oilfield on a hill is pretty unrealistic. If you care, oilfields tend to be on flat plains or rarely valley bottoms.
I build leases for oil company's and we build lots up in the hills. Just more dirt work to level out the lease. What he built isn't realistic at all though. At least not for the fields up in Canada. Nothing is that crowded together.

Your lack of direct access to the bridge over the river is going to create a headache as the population grows.
