Neither feeling is right, neither is wrong... For me it just depends on the day. Even Bobby Jones wrote that he needed different swing thought every time he played. If he needed that it's good enough for me. And I appreciate that you teach both the specific details and the individuality involved

Every aspiring golfer MUST watch this. Thank you for explaining this so clearly. I seldom find a video the explains the big picture of what happens in a golf swing.

As you say, a complex motion but one which you describe very well - in particular the feeling that the shoulder motion could encourage an over the top path which can inhibit the correct movement. You are really hitting the sweet spot with this type of content Jonathan.

The feeling i use is extending and contracting my obliques during the back & downswing. Been struggling with side bend motion alot. How to move from left side bend at top of backswing into right bend at impact this motion is very complexed. Overthinking the motion has got me in to trouble. Simplifying the feeling has helped alot. Interesting how everyone uses different feelings to get into certain position. Good vid. Keep up the good work

For some reason putting a club across my upper back held in my elbows gets my lower body/back working best and a club across my upper chest gets my upper body working.Unfortunately i havent found a way of doing both at the same time!
But sequencing is the Key and for me the right side works fractionally 1st to give the left side space to get working.
But its the result of this, getting my left oblique/lat/shoulder blade to load/ work dynamically back and through the ball thats got me down to my lowest ever hcp of 3 + JTs great videos!

This is really helping me with areas I have understood intellectually but not being able to feel or execute. Only problem is when practicing this I am experiencing some pain in my lower back on the right side. Would some axle tilt in my stance help with this?

I think you just have to make the change slowly and let your body get used to it. My next video will help you get a bit more stability in your lower body which will support your lower back.

@@JonathanTaylor63 Again, this makes sense. Thank you. I am still curious about the concept of 'axle tilt' in the stance. Looking forward to the next video

Focusing on turning hips will automatically turn shoulders

It really won’t, and your shoulders are likely to turn on the wrong plane.
