I have this one and it's low key very good especially for a cinematic look. 2.8 is good enough for this one, still gives amazing bokeh. Still fast enough imo. Especially on a apsc and with bloom filter portraits during golden hour. Love your new camera! And the vintage lenses. That's a good idea thanks for sharing! Happy new year!!!
Happy new year to you as well :) People chase numbers and 1.4 is better than 2.8 for some. But to each his own. I’m very happy with it. The vintage lenses have been very fun and has made going out a little more interesting. Take care 🙏🏻
Between the compact G primes and the Sigma I series, just about every focal length is covered. If you need a zoom the Sony 16-25 and 24-50 are compact enough to not feel out of place on a C body. I feel like pretty much everything is covered except for maybe a compact 135 f4.
I’m stuck between this and the Sony 85/1.8 right now for the A7CII (or adapting something from M Mount, but that’s going to be manual focus). The 85 is pretty small for an 85, but not like this Sigma.
Love the photos - my only suggestion is for the kind of portraits you showed i would've probably stopped down to 5.6 or 8 since depth of field wasn't really a factor in the composition. I learned that the lens is pretty sharp at 2.8 though!
All I have is third party lenses and these new sigmas pair up perfectly with the AI autofocus. Even with cheap samyang 24mm it never misses. The A7cii has AF down.
@@xhynetuseinovski I'm using Sony A7iii, 35 f/1.8, 50 f/2.5, Sigma 85mm f/1.4, and going to replace the A7iii with A7cii too, and I am thinking about replace 85 with this 90mm. f/2.8 is enough for me. Thanks for your video and reply
Okay so I honestly have the perfect video for you. Go back and watch my video on the Yongnuo 85mm. I compare the sony, yongnuo, and viltrox. In summary, the cost to performance ratio, the yongnuo kills everything. I recommend the sigma 90 over the yongnuo if you want top tier build quality and an aperture ring. If not get the yongnuo. It’s newer and better.
This lens is so sharp and has such a unique look plus no focus breathing
Yeah the lens is super high value
The bokeh looks amazing, and very easy to achieve a 1.2 look in Camera raw these days, from that 2.8 which already looks amazing
Absolutely stunning!!! 😍
thank you!

there are still few lenses for A7c II that are small, thats why people are interested in it

Thank you for the video
Great photos! Thanks for showing what this lens can do - Im impressed with your shots in low light
Thanks eric! This lens is a long time keeper for me. Thanks to IBIS was able to keep iso noise really low.
great video! Love those lenses which are not that popular, but crazy good!
i know man i want my whole kit to be from that line. Just need the 50 now.
Beautiful photos! Thank you!
glad you enjoyed thank you!

I’ve used the Sigma 85/1.4, though. It’s amazing but huge.

it distorts like crazy without correction

Great video! QQ: how is the autofocus performance on a7cii? Since it’s a 3rd party lens, I wonder if the eye focus is slower than a Sony lens. Thanks!

I’m actually selling mine if you’re interested!
Is this lens fast enough for street, moment photography Xhynet? tks
yes the autofocus is very very fast suitable for street! especially with the newer autofocus

I’m still torn berween this 90mm and the Sony FE 85mm/1.8… what is your pick?

Do you still use this lens a lot these days bro?
i mostly use it for my videos, getting close up product shots and b-roll. not so much for street or travel. i just gravitate more to 28 or 35.
@@xhynetuseinovski Thanks for the response. Would you say it's still a good lens for portrait especially the compactness
i have the old 90mm f2.8 AF macro and i am very happy with it performance
yeah it’s such a good lens. don’t think i’ll sell this one for a while
