The issue with Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts is quite simple. It is a direct competitor to Rule the Waves (1, 2, and 3), and Rule the Waves always cost ALOT. AAA game prices for what amounts to a spreadsheet naval sim. I personally am fine with that, and adore Rule the Waves. It only costs that much because of just how absurdly niche the game is (even compared to Sprocket and Flyout), and the fact that it isn't a single guy, it is a small studio behind it, which had amazing customer service, and handled each sale's DRM on an individual case by case basis. They were basically games developed and released by a much older generation who just love naval history, so much so that the main guy who owned everything and did most of the dev work died unfortunately before Rule the Waves 3 released. Now, the problem this causes is that Sprocket and Flyout are NOT seen as competitors to Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts, as it is in truth basically just a 3d version of Rule the Waves. Quite literally almost a carbon copy just given a proper GUI and 3d rendering. Further, UAD isn't developed by an independent team like RTW, the parent company is the one dictating price, and looks at RTW and goes "We will just match their price", not understanding that it is a combination of outside factors which made it acceptable for RTW to be priced that way. Hell, said parent company are also responsible for MP not being an update, but a DLC, and are also responsible for the "release" of the game. The devs were notably pissed off by this, but the parent company decided the game wasn't bringing in enough money and wants the dev team to move onto new projects. Despite the fact that the devs don't think the game is nearly done.
My main problem with UAD (which I still play and love) is that most of the community pretty much agrees that the game HAS to be modded to address the huge balance flaws with the campaign and shipbuilding yet the devs just go hue hue hoo and add more hulls or (to your point) release a paid dlc that most people don’t even want instead of spending what might take a month to recalibrate the game. Shit you could just ask a CC who has a mod and I’m sure they would say yes to let the devs use their already made balance mods.
Brings back memories of playing the F.222.2 in war thunder with a few friends and completely annihilating the enemy airfield from low earth orbit 5 mins into the match
The trifecta games for making fictional or non fictional vehicles are(for me at least): - Flyout for planes - sprocket for tanks - Navalart for ships(and a lil bit of subs)
And there are 3 games to make good rockets. -kerbal space program (sequel? KSP never had a sequel…) -Spaceflight simulator(fun, 2d rocket builder) -Juno=new origins(like KSP, but with the style of SFS)
I was also shocked when i saw that UAD announced multiplayer DLC. Its totally not ready, i havent played it in a long time because i feel like itsa buggy mess that they tried to jam too many mechanics into. I liked it a lot more a few major updates ago
Have you thought about making a flying boat for chisford? I think it would make sense given their large coastline and with flying boats being very popular in the interwar period irl.
Thats the best time for aircraft builders. Anything goes, thats why in Flyout i try to stay in 1910-1960s all beyond that lack of childish imagination.
You can still have some childish imagination with modern planes, stuff like forward swept wings, moving wings and wacky fly by wire trickery. But you cant make a bus with wings and send it skywards like back in ye olden days

Im late, so idk if youll see this will. From the Depths is a naval based building game with terrestrial and aeronautical additions. Its not as in depth as sprocket/flyout but i think it'd be a good option for a naval based builder.
I think that the devs of these games should work together ngl, would be cool to see a game like Sprocket or Flyout, but you can make ground, air, AND naval.
Don't forget the lads at Naval Art, now that would be one hell of a game! Imagine mp matches with home made vehicles across all three theatres. I will be dreaming about this for weeks

It's buggy, unfinished, unbalanced, and the publishers are awefuly greedy. I fully support your decision to not make videos on it, neither would I.

Is it Admiral Dreadnoughts? (Never heard of it) i think the game sounds like it's made like 90% of the AAA developers games, overpriced, underdone, and me having both sprocket and flyout, i love both too much to get another game lol

play the game man. Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts has a full map and campaign, while I think it's a bit overpriced it's far more of a -game- then either sprocket or flyout which are just builders, or with sprocket a few simulated battles and a builder. you are comparing apples to oranges patch
