@@ThatCyberpunkGuy it's actually quite a solid design the Russians ended up using the more conventional version as a test bed for years and the forward swept wing version this was back in the 40s
Im a glider pilot myself and I found your explanation very good for thermic. A heavier plane doesn't necessarily mean a plane that won't be able to fly further. It will be harder to climb higher
I'd be interested in seeing you play Automation/Beam NG or Sprocket if you have those. Maybe make land veichles for your prop punk world to see if any other tech changes happened.
To resolve the flight time issue, I suggest that if you have contact with the Flyout Devs that they add a Lossless physical timewarp like the one provided by the BetterTimeWarp mod in KSP.
You have perfected the formula, also I'm lovin' them small designs that can have more detail ^-^ btw I can see you have a preference for strutted wings
If you're looking for something else to play, i can suggest taking a look at Starship Evo It's an early access spaceship building game(also being made by one guy) that recently had an update that added procedurally generated planets! The building isn't as freeform as, say, Flyout, Sprocket or Children of a Dead Earth, it's more a Space Engineers style 3d grid based building system, but it allows for a _crazy_ amount of detail and scale, i'm talking people can make ships bigger than _some planets._ The game is geared more towards making good looking ships instead of realistic physics, so if you're looking for a game that could give some inspiration, but isn't as brain melting, i'd reccommend you check it out! Beware of some technical issues though, since the planet update also caused a good few bugs to pop up, but they are getting fixed, and the game is in early access, so it's to be expected.
Sprocket seems like the obvious recommendation for a different game to try. The original Crimson skies for pc is an amazing game if you can get it working. Airships conquer the skies is a good time if you’re in the mood for something steampunk.
Your videos honestly make my day and I think I speak for everyone when I say that the more uploads the better, however it is perfectly understandable that you are starting to get tired, if a short break means better videos in the future then rest for as long as you'd like! I've never commented before so im gonna leave a few ideas I've had for a while: the fastest possible air breathing jet, like what's the absolute fastest possible jet plane you can make in flyout? can you reach hypersonic? maybe mach 4.something? how about a large flying wing bomber similar to the YB-49? or maybe a high speed bomber like the TU-160 or maybe a U-2 like thing, highest possible cruise altitude If you'd like you could even go back to using the AI to make some of these planes or others, I found this channel and this game through the AI stealth jet video, and I loved all of those. That is all, once again I thank you dearly for making all tis content for us, while flyout isn't available yet I've bought simpleplanes in the meantime to start practicing lol.
You should try from the depths you can build historical or unrealistic planes, ships, tanks, or even space crafts. You can have the same customizability and even more when it comes to the weapon system and actual combat. PS love the content and loved being apart of the prop punk universe
i think some of the dev time before release would be dozens of times more worthwhile if they worked on a tutorial. and not just a here's how to drag the mouse thing, talking about the principles of the many areas required to get good. this game is a lot more technical than most, and I fear that without it many people would end up dropping the game after 30 minutes.
i highly recommend stormworks build and rescue to you, the game has alot of depth in its building and logic editor along with aerodynamics like flyout but its a different style and gives you a breath of fresh air.
If you want a chill game with some survival aspects, get satisfactory. It’s fun, pretty chill, and nice and relaxing as long as you don’t run into any animals in the early game
Don't be afraid to take any breaks dude, you've been churning out content at breakneck speed for the past few weeks ever since the channel blew up. Just know we always appreciate any sort of new content no matter what but don't force yourself on it if you don't feel it in the moment. I know the algorithm can be a wild ride but sometimes it drives people to chase it to pretty unhealthy extent and that's not great for everyone. Thank you for all the brilliant videos and ideas you've been putting out and take good care of yourself 🙂
Nice to see the realism touches. As fascinated as I am by extreme minimalist missions in some simulators, the lack of realism puts a limit on how much I enjoy them. Affordability helps too. :) Creativity is a fickle mistress! lol I like to binge-read or watch stuff to get it back, but haven't really tried it that much. But other games... Kitbash Model Club looks like a bundle of fun! You get to make model cars and boats as well as planes, and play multiplayer. (Matt Lowne reviewed it.) I'm certain you're not going to get anywhere near 4 hours of boring flight in it, at least! :) I sort-of like watching landscape and experiencing changing conditions, but I'm never in the mood for taking it that slow, these days. Ah, so here's the lovely secret valley! :) I hope to see more of it. Uh... Because of health issues, I have to look away when the camera twitches too much. I understand it's impossible to avoid completely, but I do appreciate it when video-makers try.
@Messier 82 I'm not sure if it will be on any interest, hopefully it will be for a future build, I remember a story about the Wyvern. A British anti sub plane that had two engines, two props, everything in the fuselage, and could feather one set of props, and shut down an engine all to save on fuel. Again, not sure if it will help, but hopefully it does in the future.
Aircraft have used internal, and flush antennas before. That would help with drag a little bit, and would likely be used in an aircraft designed for this.
I really like the planes you've been building so far! Have you considered trying to make a blended wing aircraft? They're a really interesting concept, I think.
For his video some weather conditions should apply. I mean like all at ISA, no wind, no clouds. So you wouldn´t have to worry about about thermals, ridge flying etc. It´s far away from a real world scenario, I know. Still amating results. What is you aviation background? Because holy shit, this is so entertaining and also educative. Speaking myself as an airline pilot, flight instructor and also an ultralight test pilot... You´ve earned a sub instantly and I spend much more times with your videos than I´m willing to admit.
Do what you need to keep yourself happy, your joy is worth an indescribable amount of videos and I would have no problem if you left for an entire month. Your happiness comes first and never forget that. Do what makes you happy :)
If you're looking for games that involve designing and then piloting vehicles in detail, I'd suggest Kerbal Space Program, Sprocket, or even Children of a Dead Earth. Alternatively, for something much more crazy for design, you could try Besiege, or Instruments of Destruction.
Thought of a fun design for your Turbo-Punk setting, a (naval) carrier heavy fighter using Custer Channels and counter rotating propellers, maybe even designed to operate as a torpedo bomber or level bomber from the decks of a carrier?
Would love to see you try to make some aircraft in SimplePlanes and Juno new origins to compare the building and flight characteristics of those games to flyout
Hey messier, i have a game recommendation, play flyout, its basically simpleplanes but 100x more advanced. It looks amazing and is a fun game to play, you should really try it sometime
That’s how I feel in msfs I play it loads and then get board coz flying in msfs is so much fun but it loses the thrill when you do it loads so then I have to take a break for like a week and do something else before I can be interested to do it again and at that point I’m rlly missing I so it’s lots of fun
I wonder if you can make an Arwing from Starfox. I'm thinking, Pilot practically sits on top of the jet engine, and the wings have adjustable sweep like an f-14. The engine producing enough thrust to get close to or faster than mach 1.
Could you please build a plane with forward swept wings? I would like to see you building that.
Yes!
Like the Sukhoi SU-47
JU287 the original forward swept wing jet aircraft from the 40s
@@lucius6667oh god I both hate it and want to see it at the same time

That X-34 feels like something that came out from Ace Combat
just give it a 1100 meter long wingspan and the ability to carry drones and AAMs and Lasers and a fucking forcefeild.
Reminds me of the Martin 262 Convoy fighter.
I'd be interested in seeing you play Automation/Beam NG or Sprocket if you have those. Maybe make land veichles for your prop punk world to see if any other tech changes happened.
yeah, with automation and beamng these challenges can also include the community, and they would fit right in with the other content he is doing
I second this, Automation and BeamNG are some of my favorite games
Yeah! It could make Automation fun again!
Agreed on all three of those!
Alternately, maybe hold off on Sprocket until the early August patch which will introduce geometric internals.
Or dream car builder
You should make a vtol transport in the prop punk timeline, and instead of rotating the propellor rotate the wings to achieve vtol
On mobile
Hb a freakin X-Wing Fighter!
th-cam.com/video/vLyfNXpuUwo/w-d-xo.html 👍👍
That's called a helicopter. 😈
Tiltrotor Cessna.

I love this channel so so much. I can watch for hours! I can't wait till flyout comes out.
Ye
It makes me sooo happy to see your channel grow, i got here at 13k ish subs and i just love how much its growing
16:40 4 or 5 people flying to a clinate conferrence to talk down to us and ban plastic straws
The plane at 23:20 looks awesome
This is my second favorite plane you've made after the AI stealth one :D

Now make one as efficient as a Honda scooter, 115MPG. Round down to 1000 miles on 10 gallons.
I wouldn’t have minded a longer video. Love you content man! I like all your builds and this challenge is cool too!
I think automation/beamng would be fun, its like flyout but with cars

Ultimate admiral dreadnoughts is a recommendation it would be interesting to see what warships you make.
Stormworks is a fantastic addiction if you're looking for a new game.
Damn dood you Keep Putting out So Many vids i Cant even Keep up

I think having the multi hour video with music would be cool, even if it's unlisted and you can only access it through here. That's my vote for it!
Said it in discord but THSA’s X-34 is so gorgeous
From The Depths is a fun timesink. More about designing weapon systems than hulls but it's a good time.
just purchased this and am pretty happy with it.
Could you try some aircraft of any sorts that utilises electric propulsion?

Honestly there's a lot of the Optica and the Celera in there. Looks pretty neat!
Nuclear option is a really fun game that I've been getting into with my friends
As a glider pilot, I think I can get this far with 0 gallons of fuel
Haha nice
synthwave flying sounds rad lmao
Make a plane that starts as a F1 cockpit, so the pilot has the head exposed, sidepods either side and is just crammed inside of a thin nosecone
honestly, i'd watch Hyper-Efficient Beats to Study/Relax/Glide to
Not sure if possible but maybe the pilot could be prone or something to reduce drag from the front
Turn a f-15 or other new aircraft into a piston engine prop plane
That X-34 in the montage was very cool looking, you could try and make a plane with a similar setup with the engine in the middle, but maybe bigger
Yeah, that was a very sweet-looking plane.
Kind of looks like a dragon fly
sup messier! love the videos
I like it when he uploads
Enjoy your break!
Ah yes, the Gulfstream 500, the jet that all "Save the planet" people use to go to conventions
This competition was the final kick to get me excited to try and play Flyout, looks like they have closed the ability to get keys.
I love that X-34 design
From The Depths is a good game. It is very free in its design parameters
Here’s an idea, odd shaped aircraft, instead of standard triangular and ‘pointy’ aircraft, hexagons, squares and whatever else
Do what you need to keep yourself happy, your joy is worth an indescribable amount of videos and I would have no problem if you left for an entire month. Your happiness comes first and never forget that. Do what makes you happy :)
Ultimate Admiral Dreadnaught might be worth a look if you like ships
I also love the game but a good mix is from the depths because both naval and aviation
A fighter inspired private jet would be cool

So basically the 10 Gallon challenge is who can make the best ultralight aircraft.
this looks like it would be really fun to fly irl

Surprised no-one built an Edgley Optica, although yours is fairly reminisecent
good morning!
I cant tell you how desperately I want this plane
X-34 was pretty badass
Would love to see you try to make some aircraft in SimplePlanes and Juno new origins to compare the building and flight characteristics of those games to flyout
I was thinking if you added a V tail there would be less weight and drag plus dihedral for roll stability
I really like Hardspace Shipbreaker! Not really something I'd say is as much fun to watch as it is to play though.
The x34 looks cool.

Sea plane build? As for game suggestions theres sprocket or maybe DCS if you wanna stay with planes
I'd listen to Synthwave Hyper-Efficient Plane Beats to study to tbh.
Aircraft mechanic simulator, simple planes, Kerbal space program. I think these would be great for your channel.
ngl, a rotordyne would be pretty good for this
May be a tunnel wing might work
Ik the long flights suck but would it be possible to build a plane to circumnavigate the flyout Earth on a single tank?
It may or may not be on the list already...
That’s how I feel in msfs I play it loads and then get board coz flying in msfs is so much fun but it loses the thrill when you do it loads so then I have to take a break for like a week and do something else before I can be interested to do it again and at that point I’m rlly missing I so it’s lots of fun
maybe try simple planes
since this game is for building planes, you should try and beat the land speed record and / or flight speed record
when you do return to flyout here is an idea. Try making a turboprop powered aircraft as efficient as you can.
Definitely take a break that’s important; for when your back though a cool though would be a tri engine jet or prop fighter
Cool concept!
