I'm a first-time gun owner and I own a Springfield XDS-9 mod 2 and this video helped me out dramatically on taking my gun apart cleaning it and putting it back together again for the first time. Thank you so much for the knowledge.
First time gun owner as well and I was able to clean my XDS Mod 2 .45 to your instructions. Thank you. I really appreciate the time you took to make this video.
1 year later still good information and a straight forward video I have the mod 2 .45 instead of the 9mm Will clean the same way thank you for taking the time to remake this
Nice video! Thank you!?I didn’t see the first one but there’s always going to be grumblers and complainers, so don’t worry about them. The only thing I can add is that the XDS-9 manual recommends disassembling and cleaning the magazines every 4 months or sooner if needed. Again, thanks for this helpful video!
@@cascios it's a cts-1500 . It came with my xds mod2 osp as a package deal. I didn't end up using it anyway. I like the iron sights better as I have a hard time adjusting to the red dot on a pistol
When I reassemble a slide I place a pencil, eraser down, then press the trigger. The impact of the firing pin usually forces the pencil up and completely out if of the barrel. On the XDs it bumped thr pencil up a little. It was then I thought I did something wrong when I reassemble it. I went to the range and chambered a round and squeezed. The gun discharged. I was relieved. I'm fairly good a disassembling and reassembling my guns with any problems but the XDs has an extra part or two in the slide. These videos help save us $$$ in repair at a gunsmith.
Just picked this pistol up last Monday and have been carrying it IWB with a Desantis Pegasus Slim-tuk and it's been a great choice so far as I do a lot of maintenance work from painting to lawn work and snow removal here soon too and I'll tell ya folks I'm 6ft tall and 150 lbs like a twig and this thing barely feels like it's there! Barely even visible "printing" in a Tshirt wearing appendix. XDs Mod 2 OSP in 9mm with a 3.3 inch barrel is a phenomenal carry and a great shooter to!! Also got it in time for the Gear up promotion which gives 3 mags and a range bag and my Viridian Reactor 5 red laser with holster is on the way too!!
No thank you for the video. I just used my Springfield this weekend for the first time which was exciting but I had no clue how to take it apart to clean it and this video broke it down perfectly. It’s Much appreciated!!
Nice video Rob! I have almost the same gun except it has the factory RMR slot cut and Crimson Trace red dot. Thinking my son has his eyes on it though.... keep em coming !
Thanks hillbilly, I have to admit you're the one of the people I look up to as far as how you run your TH-cam channel. I appreciate all the information you put out there. And let's not forget the entertainment.
@@HillbillyMusings I think that's one of the reasons I enjoy your channel so much. You're just doing it because you love doing it and it's something fun. And that shows keep it up.
Thank you all the great tips. How often should you clean the gun? I am really inquiring for when the gun may be not used and sitting in its case. Have a regimented amount of time in which you clean inactive firearms?
If a gun is clean and you just have it in storage I would pull it out about every 90 days and just inspect it and make sure you're not getting any rest and maybe wipe down the outside with some oil and put it back away
@@HamiltonOutdoors Thanks. New gun owner and I have not had a chance to take it to the range. But wanted to make sure I could disassemble and clean the gun for up keep. Thanks for the tips and info.
"You don't wanna oil your magazine" 5 seconds later "umm........ just put a little oil on em" lmao tf kinda message you trying to send here?? everything you say is a literal contradiction smh I mean you showed me how to break it down at least so at least I didn't totally waste my time lol just bustin balls man good job, didn't totally suck I guess lol
Well I should have been a little clearer on that. I meant never oil the inside of your magazine. I like coating the outside is fine. It will also prevent blued magazines from rusting.
I have a brand new Springfield XDs mod2 chambered in 45 ACP with everything intact from the factory. I have put zero rounds through it since purchase. It was legally purchased but admittedly an impulse buy that I have no use for since I have many other firearms that I actually prefer. I am currently located in South Florida (Ft. Lauderdale area). I am willing to negotiate and, if a good enough offer is made, I'd be willing to take slightly less than what I paid for it. Again, keep in mind that you'll be receiving what is essentially a brand new weapon. No rounds through it, no scratches or blemishes and still in its factory box with all manuals and warranty card. If interested, respond with your email address and we can discuss. I'd be happy to try to work something out that's fair for both sides. I got pics!
