Our best advice: Travel how YOU want to, if you want to travel by staying in a resort, you do that, if you want to couch surf and live like a local, you do that.
Don’t let anyone tell you how you can travel :)

Staying in a resort is more of vacationing not traveling.

Freedom Strider I booked Bali for June. First days in the rice fields of Ubud in an Airbnb bamboo hut. Next couple of days in Sekumpul in the Jungle with a very simple Homestay and surrounded by waterfalls. Last couple days will be staying in a resort in Uluwatu near beaches. Little mix of everything. Only „problem“ is i don’t have a driving license so will have to have expensive pick-ups everywhere. Excited!

This goes allong with #10: DO REASEARCH PLACES TO EAT BEFOREHAND. This has saved my trips so many times, I can't even begin to tell you! Use websites like tripadvisor or similar. This just frees up so much of that valuable time and money. You will not be cought in trourist-trap restaurants that are just the worst aand you will more likely taste some amazing foods. This doesn't mean that you can't ask the locals ones you get there, but just researching a few places beforhand is very helpful.

I have just recently turned 13 and i travel to London every summer from America to see my dad and I would love if you made a video to help out young travelers that travel alone

As a person already doing that, you are in the BEST position to share that information with other young people who might be nervous about their first international flight! Maybe you should make one, if you feel safe/your parents allow you to put your face on TH-cam:)

  • @abbeymensforth5453

i booked my flight to England at 3AM, here now and its pretty chill, don't overthink travel just be human and yourself. I saw a girl my age by herself crying at the immigration office in the airport asked her whats wrong and she said she was overwhelmed. Don't over think travel you'll be surrounded by humans and... your human.
Best tip: Pretend like you know what your doing, within 2 hours of being in England i got asked about the underground system by someone from Manchester. ( Fake it, till you make it )

I wish someone would make a video of how specifically to book your vacation online. Seems simple to do, but some of us have never done that before and I think a video explaining in detail how to do that would be very helpful. I have always used a travel agent, but would like to try to book everything on my own one day. Thanks.

    • @TheFunnyCamGuy
      @TheFunnyCamGuy 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

First and best tip, look and book only in incognito mode, saves you money. Anyway, Booking online is like a second job lol. If you want the cheapest price, you're gonna have to stay up late and look look look and compare compare compare lol. If you're flexible, it makes it so much more easier. If you want cheap, you're basically gonna have to look at almost every single airline, (domestic & international airlines depending on where you're going), and every single flight search engine etc. Same with a place to stay. Dont forget to look up reviews! Just because something is cheap, doesnt mean its good. It sounds like a lot, its actually pretty easy, it just can be a bit time consuming.

I understand your questions. Unfortunatly every websites work different. So its not possible to make just video that works for all. All websites make you fill in all the fields you need. Before you book really most give you a chance to read all you wrote before you actually book.

I hope you enjoy it as did. The Maltese people are lovely. Although they have their own language, they all speak English because of their long association with Britain as a naval base. All the signs, restaurant menus, and everything else are in English. You can travel anywhere by bus and fares are really cheap. Valletta is amazing, with lots of good restaurants and bars, and daytime entertainment in the town square. Malta is a very safe place to travel. Recommended dish for omnivores, rabbit stew.

Well theres some obvious ones like Edinburgh castle and hollyrood palace. In the festival you have to walk down the royal mile, theres a big chunk of it with street performers and buskers and people hand out leaflets for thier shows- theres a fringe catalogue with all the shows in it that released closer to the time but if you cant get that before they have a website www.edfringe.com where you can get tickets to shows. You should walk up arthers seat or the sailsbury crags and see the whole city from the top. You should go to South queensferry see our famous bridges Forth road bridge and the forth rail brige and the new one the queensferry crossing. Queen Marys close is good, edinburgh dungeons, we have an artificail ski slope at hillend! Theres lots of nice bars and restaurants so depends what sort of thing your looking for some of my faves are voodoo rooms, le monde, The Dome (beautiful building) all for cocktails. My 3 favourite restaurants are the Mussel Inn, Miros cantina Mexicana and Candy bar. All of those bars and restaurants are pretty in the city centre! Theres so much stuff its hard to narrow down its a beautiful city. You should take a trip to the highlands if you can too!!!

This video is perfect! I'm planning to leave for a RTW trip in March and I've been panicking about what I could forget. I'm hoping to start in Thailand and decide where to go afterwards by how I'm feeling in the moment.
When it come to electronics, I want to bring my DSLR around with me to take photos and videos but I keep getting anxious that I'll be targeted constantly. I was wondering, how have you or your friends handled carrying lots of gear in different countries? Do you guys run into trouble often? I'm so nervous about my gear but I don't want to miss the opportunity to document my trip either!
Thanks so much for this video, Nadine!

I'm greek living in Greece and I guarantee you there are a lot of great places to visit both on the main land and the islands. Mykonos and Santorini are almost the only islands I tend to see on travel vlogs here on youtube. Both are beautiful islands but too crowded and touristy. Hydra is a nice choice but not for a long period of time, 1-3 days is enough. Athens is a must see, but you can also visit Thessaloniki in the north.Anything you would like to ask about your time here I would be happy to help. :)

Lena Papanikolaou thank you. I thought Hydra would be cool because it is less traveled and will be there for just about 4 days total. I'm seeing the Peloponnese this time will have to visit again to see Thessaloniki. I will definitely reach out with questions.

The experience we made with travelling is that everything is mostly going well. Like if you are hitchhiking and you really need that ride, you are likely to get it. Or if you haven't booked any hotel or hostel in advance there is a room left for you. If not there are always locals helping you out! So just go our there explore and follow wherever the adventure will take you! :)

Riding buses can be quite different from country to country. In Europe there are many bus systems where you have to buy a ticket in advance, and then once on the bus it's incumbent on you to stick it in a time stamp machine or you risk an unlikely but very hefty fine. In Thailand, you board the bus and pay a ticket collector who comes to you. On Taipei city buses, 75% of the time you pay when you get OFF the bus.

Aone Sebinanyane That’s where I was planning! I just need to look into transportation and activities. I heard South Africa was an incredibly beautiful country. Is English very common there? I’m worried to show up and then not be able to communicate or read signs.

Yeah everyone speaks English in Cape Town. Geographically its a magnificent and beautiful city. Its like the Rio de Janeiro of Africa and its clean, rich in history, has some of the best wines and vineyards in the world. Just check some of the travel guides and vlogs on it. been there twice

    Nice video Nadine!!
Your souvenirs in the background didnt go unnoticed!!
    More tips:
carry hand sanitizer to be little guarded...
    Dont carry valuables during travel..
Few places buying tickets is not only important but accessing them too.. else end up paying fine!!
Before trying a local food please enquire about its contents as few may be allergic to certain food!!
Learn few words of the places you travel!! Merci beaucoup!!
