Today I saw some helicopters circling over Venice. The area was taped off with the caution sign lots of police a homeless man just stabbed a bus driver in the back. Really sad situation. - บันเทิง
Homeless people are risky. Not because they are homeless, but because their homelessness often is caused by addiction and (severe) mental problems.
It’s frustrating seeing all the ppl who blindly believe that homeless are innocent victims of circumstance. In reality the vast majority are addicts who refuse the plethora of resources available cuz they don’t want to give up their drugs or take on any normal adult responsibilities to provide for themselves. They also have to burn a lot of bridges to have no family or friends to stay with. I hope the driver makes it, it’s insane what they have to deal with just trying to do their job. All buses should have a bullet proof case to protect the driver’s area, and the drivers should be allowed to carry a gun to protect themselves and others from the addicts and nutters.
The majority of homeless in LA are out of their heads on drugs and many also have chronic mental illnesses - some which pre-dated their addictions. It's not just people down o their luck begging for food. This is a whole different thing

@@mrs.h2725people mainly become addicts due to serious trauma. It's not just a case of saying they won't accept help as oftentimes, regardless of how good or extensive available help is, people aren't yet mentally able to move on.

They’re not gonna tolerate it much longer. The pendulum will start to swing back to the center. Not anytime soon. Venice is a neighborhood of LA. For the city of LA the homeless population increases 11% up to over 52000. For the county which also includes this it's over 82000

I am a disabled older woman and I am afraid to ride the bus. What is the solution? I think we need undercover cops on buses but that takes extra man power and money. Although I wonder, Marijuana dispensaries bring in a lot of tax money in Vegas so what is that money being used for??? We need more shelters, mental health centers, rehabilitation centers and especially police patrols on buses.
Wonder how many times that dude has been arrested and if he should still be in jail for a past crime? People need to start a class action lawsuit against the state of California for their incompetence to protect the residents.

What's sad is that in lots of urban areas, the public is generally on its own, no knights in shining armor to come to the rescue. Worse of all, the knights (or good guys) will be treated like the bad guys, the bad guys will be treated like (if not the good guys) the guys who need a tap on the shoulder, a pat on the head

The bus drivers are required to pick up the crazies .It is unfair that they can`t use their own minds to exclude passengers.Buses have cameras on them so a witness is not needed. I drive a school bus and I have been attacked by children and they were allowed to get away with it with only minor trouble for them. We refuse to pay with money to solve problems so we pay in other ways.

@@bananabicycleseat6796 I used to work for the top rated chemical company in the U.S. A lot of business is done with contracts from the government, they have reduced spending on mental health and closed a lot of facilities that housed the mentally ill. The government put a lot of these people out on the street and some they put into state funded nursing homes which has resulted in some mental and physical abuse of the elderly. Taxes paid from my earned income and property taxes I pay is what financially supports the government.

I live near Detroit and it's basically the same thing. Detroit and Venice are both incredible cities that unfortunately happen to have some people who hurt others, but as you said that's honestly really anywhere nowadays. I'm sending a lot of love and support to that poor bus driver.

Most of LA is not the same like it used to be. LA used to be very peaceful including Venice. Now with the aftermath of Covid and lots of homeless people lost their jobs and got evicted from their homes. Its very sad.

You always have to be aware of your surrounds. LA is not getting bad and unsafe it already is really unsafe and falling apart. Coming from a brother bus Operator we are out here everyday doing our job getting LA to work ,to home, to the market etc. But I'll tell you one big thing that all operators know. We are unappreciated and disrespected constantly. We are humans just like the rest of the world. Working hard and doing our job. Prayers to my brother for a full recovery. Watch your back LA.

This is one reason I never use public transportation. I always wanted to visit California in the past but hearing about all the crime and homelessness has completely changed my mind. It just seems like a dirty place but I live through your eyes so thanks for the videos and please stay safe. I just found your channel and really enjoying it. Bad stuff can happen anywhere; here in New Zealand we have a small population and like to think we are safer than the USA, but recently we have been trialling safety screens for bus drivers to protect them from increasing amounts of random abuse!
You are exactly correct! Had a guy I grew up with, got in a bar fight, and the guy he hit fell head first on the concrete, and died later. The guy I grew up with went to jail.
