Today I had the rare opportunity to climb up to the worlds famous knickerbocker hotel rooftop in Hollywood Many celebrities stayed in this hotel from Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Jerry Lee Lewis, Marilyn Monroe, and many more I matched up pictures on the rooftop where Elvis had a photo shoot in 1956. I also show you their location where Harry Houdini’s wife tried to contact him in a séance I show you the apartments with Stan, Laura, Oliver Hardy, state Elvis Presley and his manager Colonel Tom Parker. GERMAN IN VENICE IS THE NEW KING LOVE FROM GRACELAND
Was given a tour of the Capitol Records Building by the Studio Manager, (Paula S.) & Her Assistant, also from Montreal. The building is amazing, on the 5th floor were several SonicSolutions Mastering Stations, people were busy going about there day on every floor. Great Memory, late 1994 (Worked @ Conway Studios & Paramount Recording)

Love all the historical buildings in Hollywood. Long may they exist. Hollywood Boulevard may be grungy & grimy but most of the original buildings are still there.

I'm just like you GIV. I'm 67 years old and I've been this way since I was a kid. I get excited about being in locations such as the Knickerbocker. Went to Hollywood a few years ago and I had a blast doing the kind of things you're doing now. Used to live out there when I was a little boy so it was great to go back. Not everyone gets how we are, they say "why would you get excited over something like that? " Or, a person told me recently "those people like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis were just human beings just like us and there was nothing special about them."
They may have been human beings but they definitely weren't just like us.
@@robertrocca6595 No, I am the same too. And when you live in LA yes, celebs are all over the place and you see them everywhere. But a major difference for the older celebs that are no longer here. They've become icons and yes, they're just like us but then they are not. We all have to have some good addictions in life that isn't harmful. And what the GIV shows us and his excitement & enthusiasm is contagious.

I love it when you go to Hollywood. I grew up there,graduated from LeConte Jr. High and Hollywood High and just had an awesome time. Where were you in ‘62? You’re young and probably wouldn’t understand, but that time in Hollywood was awesome, stress free and just a wonderful place in which to grow up. Hope your Mom is doing ok. PS AND all the beaches we could go to.

It sure was, remember the smog alerts on really bad days? Warnings not to go out to walk or run. And the air was so thick and smokey. Things are better now at least.

Amazing video! The big sign atop the Knickerbocker was altered slightly when it was converted to apartments, the portion on top has 5 letter blocks, as it used to say "HOTEL KNICKERBOCKER". The 'O' and 'L' were removed and the 'H', 'T', and 'E' were repositioned to read "THE". I lived in one of the buildings you see in the background 30 years ago. Miss it greatly!
