Honestly I love the sea on Maputo but Harare is beautiful
Let me give my 2 cents.... As someone who lived both cities. Harare has modern buildings and nicer real estate and beautiful houses and suburbs than Maputo Mozambique. You can feel the British influence in the way everything is planned out. Harare needs better city council as it was a great city back then. Maputo on the other hand is amazing. It's beautiful and I noticed that most tall buildings in Maputo are all residential. As beautiful as it is plumbing work needs to be sorted. Dating life in Maputo is fun. Both countries have long history though harare is a younger city and maputo has strong Portuguese influence. Mozambiquan guys are just amazing.. I'd say harare takes a win, though I'd love to visit Maputo again. Southern africa has a vibe of its own. Beautiful cities.

Was very surprised & impressed at the development & size of Maputo, had been told it was a dump, hotels on the beaches, buildings & shops etc. were drab & needed updating, a lick of paint & renovating. However the aerial view was surprising in a good way.
Prefer not to critique Harare - though also impressive from an aerial view & also in consideration of the longstanding political & economic problems and sanctions - still looking 👍. Last seen in 2003.

HARARE is on lead...But Maputo is improving it's infrastructure the government of Mozambique should improve also the Healthcare

Harare used to be one of the best cities in Southern Africa after Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Pretoria in South Africa , unfortunately bad governance and too much race based policies destroyed the bread basket of Southern Africa.
Actually Harare was leading to all those cities you mentioned, zero crimes, zero slams and modern buildings back then.
Harare used to be one of the best cities in the world 1980-2005

Maputo is beautiful and green full of trees, Harare is more developed but I don't like Harare's architecture, the new buildings in Maputo are more beautiful, in Harare the design seems to be the same. and you can hardly see any trees or green spaces. Africans are amazed by tall towers, but that's not what makes the city so beautiful.
So if it's just based on the videos shown here I prefer Maputo.
but outside of the videos in the outskirts and in the center, each upa of these cities has its dilemmas.

Bulawayo will never be out shined by any city in Zim Harare is unique in terms of modern buildings, I saw how you edited this video in terms of beauty my friend Maputo has nice Colonial and Modern buildings and nice bridges.
While Maputo was developed along the coastline,Harare is landlocked.There are many chances of Maputo flourishing with the sea ports and giving it an advantage over landlocked cities in Zimbabwe.Zimbabwean cities should have surpassed so many of these coastal cities way back before the year 2000 actions of our previous regime.Maputo had a chance to grow like any other costal and inland cities as Harare stalled.Its been 22 years after Zimbabwean cities stalled but what is happening now will put these cities back on track and Maputo together with other cities in southern Africa must watch out.Zimbabwe is well on track to it's trajectory.Mt Hampden will definitely put the case to rest while Kings City and the Hope Estate take shape in Bulawayo to the East and North respectively.Maputo looks beautiful as a coastal city but Harare will brush it aside with Mt Hampden.Watch the space.

Harare was developed by british government there are no new buildings built by zanupf but maputo was just a small city and the Portuguese destroyed many of their buildings so admit that maputo has developed more than harare on its own

As a Zimbabwean I say Maputo definitely wins. Zim economic turmoil has affected progress this city has not changed much in the last 20 years. Hardly see a crane or any building activity in the city. Besides the beauty of coastal cities is unmatched. Compare Maputo with Durban, Cape Town and Luanda
Sometimes you lose focus when you compare recent developments or when you consider whether a city is coastal or not. For us foreigners to both we do not need to know the politics our judgement is based on our recent visits and comparison I have been to both including the airports
