I have a 2016 ST and liked the sound too at first (sounds almost the same). But commuting daily on the Autobahn, it got loud and annoying. Fact is, the euro spec ST do no have the sound symposer thing but rather produce fake sound via the speakers, I used Forscan to disable the sound and I do not really miss it but it's gotten so much quieter in the car.

Ford really stepped up their game. Fiesta ST, Focus ST. All best in their class by far. And their build quality stepped up insanely the last 15 years. Even Audis i drove in had cheaper interior quality.
Just sold my MK 3 RS and that pile of shit was literally rusting away. Build quality is very poor. There's no way you can associate quality with rusting out after the first 2 years of ownership. That being said, mechanically it was perfect but that's useless when the car is rusting away.

@@kw2519 cars I've smoked in a 2013 tech package speed3 (100% stock, 100k miles): newer GTI, GLI, WRX, Ecoboost Mustang convertible, R/T Charger. Ran neck and neck with new Audi A4, 1st gen Golf R, Kia Stinger, older BMW 335 Sedan on rims (not sure it was running right bc shouldve smoked me). Theres plenty of cars driven on this channel that are on the slower end of the scale. Still fun. If you dont get that, then you have lots to learn.

Only suggestion I'd like to give to whomever owns or will ever own a turbo petrol like this one, don't use the turbo too much to gain speed in the mid range or make a pass, you will wear it down much quicker, like at 150kph don't just pull in 5th gear, drop it gain about 1000rpm and then go back to 5th, your car will thank you

Don't pull in 5th gear at 150k/90mph? What nonsense are you on about, its already on boost at that speed, it doesn't cause any additional wear on the turbos. Trying to go Wide open throttle at low rpm, high gear is a recipe for disaster, not at 90+mph/150k. Drop down if you want max acceleration, not because the turbo will wear out more lol.

Check the "GPS scoreboard" in the description to compare. It's even quicker than the mk8 GTi with a dsg.
