- I am finally home to consistently work on my BMW 325i drift car. I brought home a carbon-fiber Recaro rep with universal mounting brackets and sliders. Here is a DIY on fitting universal style mounting brackets and sliders into a BMW E36. Cutting, welding, and drilling holes to create a simple mounting point. Enjoy! Thank you for watching!

Duuuuude! Thanks so much for the vid. I was sick about the prices of seat brackets and after watching this, I'm totally making my own.
Glad to help! Did you get it done?

Right on! I'm working on figuring out how to mount new seats in my '77 Beetle. This is helpful! How come you didn't use long bolts to attach the universal rails to the square tubing?
Nathan Farhner Hey I'm glad the video helped you! I didn't use longer bolts because they would stick out and get in the way of mounting. Also just using what I have laying around the garage 👍🏼
Hello where did you buy your seats ?
What size square tubing did you use?
Dakota Quigley I used 1" square tubing
Where did you get the tubing
Where goes the seat belt nut?
Its bolted down with the seat mounting bolt
How tall are you?
