    Very cool video, Richard. The ECoS and Märklin Central Station (1, 2, 3) are identical in just about every real sense of usage and utility. Also in price. The Märklin CS3 is probably a step ahead now of the ESU ECoS (even 50200) with it's expandability, but both are the elite for layout control, as you can run them even with the high end computer systems, and event he digikeijs stuff can be tuned right into them

    I wonder if you help with a problem I'm having, Ive just purchased a ecos controller and I have been adding my loco's, but when I tried to add loco's with a bachmann chip I get a symbol in the display dcc with a half green bar, the system reads the chip ok, but no control, any suggests?

      I would suggest put it on the ESU forum they should be able to help. I think it could be that the the chip has railcom turn on but not working properly. sorry that I can't be much help

    Good review, thank you. Is it possible to use digitrax block detectors with ESU ecos through lnet adapter?

      @TrainsintheAttic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not easily. The lnet adapter only put out half of the signal you need so I could not but i have heard of people getting it to work by adding the missing signal. Other brands of loconet equipment work with out any problems

    Ha! I wish I had found this earlier. I was just looking at the ESU and Digitrax systems. In the end I went with Digitrax partly for the cost and partly for their popularity around here. I do have a small layout with eight points so not too bad to keep track of. My last layout was forty years ago and I feel I may be in over my head! lol

      Both systems are great the good thing with digitrax is when your layout grow you just add to the system. If you have any questions let me know and I will try to help.

      If you contact esu they should be able to repair it. I have had a repair done before it will cost you much much less than a new one

    What a pity you don’t mention the second world war attitude of Esu, the mother company. Just forcing buyers to subscribe before you can download Upgrades as a newbuyer is as conservative as Germans can get. Secondly the manual in various forms and translations is about as educational as Basil in his Torquai hotel. Finally, the workbenches on TH-cam are so basic and explained in a manner that you feel that even the makers, including yourself haven’t a clue how to make things understandable. I’m not brainless and have worked with model trains, including Live Steam, for sixty years, but it took me a week to get a Littfinski R-88-n to shuttle a train for one end to the other. On one thing we can agree. ESU have made a wonderful piece of kit. Pity, it takes days, weeks, months to get stuff going.
