Thankyou - My Prodigy Express has finally expired, your crystal clear explanation of how the WiFi is setup and used has convinced me this is the way to go......👍
Very good Mark. I've got the cheaper Gaugemaster version to run my top track and to program locos. Easy to use and great for reading cv's etc. I got it to replace my bachmann system that died. Still got the digitrax on the main layout so run 2 together which is great when the kids come as they can run a layout each. Nice system oh and even my cheap one has the WiFi. Catch you on your stream atb Andy
Ahhh, I was wondering why you needed the phone control when you have the control panel. It makes sense now for ‘kids’ to use an old phone to have a go. Thanks for sharing 👍
Happy with mine, Though the cost seems to have rocketed for no good reason, I added the wifi unit to mine as extra handsets go for 80+ used, and adding the wifi means any old smart phone is now an extra throttle
Hi Mark, The Gaugemaster controller is a nice bit of kit one down side is the flat lead it tangles up to easily be better with a curly retractable lead haven’t got the Wi Fi don’t want to use my phone cheers Al
Hi Mark. Are there any simple wiring plan anywhere for connecting gaugemaster seep points to the advanced 2? Simple drawing plans for all these would be more helpful than pages of written instructions. Many thanks
Hi Andy if using it on DC then I believe it is not recommended to use a DC Gaugemaster controller. If using DCC then the Hornby DCC 7000 should work with any DCC controller. Hope this helps.
I have the basic Gaugemaster one so it doesn't do peripherals. But i still find it good enough for me for now as I wanted to power my points etc off a Gaugemaster DC controller I had unemployed after I switched. But i am still a bit jealous lol :)
No I didn't I just looked at the mainstream ones. The Gaugemaster seemed straigh forward to install and setup and had good feedback from others who used it.
@@DonegalDadRail Many thanks for the reply Mark. I do like the look of the mainstream units, but its hard to argue with the cost saving and functionality of the DCC- EX system. Maybe once ive actually tried it, (getting ready to start my layout)...lol

I'm glad it helped and thanks for watching.
Cool piece of equipment, Mark. Very glad to hear you are very happy with it!
I love it! Its runs so much better than the Rail Master System.
Hello Mark!
Really nice piece of kit
Big fan of gaugemaster products.

Yes want to get kids (and big kids) involved when at shows.

Really happy with it, works so well so far and using old phones as extra trottles is handy.
Does this system run down the power of the I phone
I am only using android devices and it doesn't run them down.
Looks good easy to intstall and use
It was easy to setup and use, now need to figure out CV programming on it.

Yes agree with you think a curly lead would be better.

Going to do a video on this as part of my new monthly questions video
Hallo Mark. Can the Gaugemaster be used on Hornby DCC 7000.? Many thanks 🎉Andy

Hello Mark. May I ask if you considered using DCC EX, since it appears to do the same thing at considerably less cost.?
No I didn't I just looked at the mainstream ones. The Gaugemaster seemed straigh forward to install and setup and had good feedback from others who used it.

Very nice. I was considering the ESU ECoS Command Station at about €600 or so. Did you look at ESU and what do you think of it ?
Had a look at different ones when at shows, like the gaugemaster and they always seem to do good products.
I want to get into dcc but looks really expensive.
Yes can be expensive to start. buying the system and decoders for each loco. But makes running easier and no need for isolated sections.
