The dark fog matrix, I believe, can be used in the proliferators. You may want to use stackers, preferably up to 3 before the 1 set of splitters, coming out of the BABs to better transport the items into your filter. Of the items to be filtered you know there are some items that are either excessively collected or mostly unused, use the 4th port on the splitters and branch those off 1st off the upper splitter ports. I agree with the other comment saying you will want to push energy and/or missile & kinetic damage upgrades, but drone speed and capacity along with combat drones to put into the BABs will also assist greatly. I couldn't tell why your hive threat kept rising with each missile strike, that usually only happens if attacking the base, relay or the space hive with missiles, did you get any laser too close to the base? Better verify you missiles are only set to ground and low air,.. high air is relays and space is the hive( if the orbit takes it close enough). If you can't arrest the threat of the hive, then you'll want to have space on to fend off the hive ships when they attack. The shields take a lot of power to get up and running, and a lot to recharge from damage, but otherwise don't use too much when keeping steady. The new update verified that the hive will not land new bases under anything you've protected with a shield though, so that's something to consider. If things are getting too aggressive, you may want to take out all or all but 1 of the bases,.. running signal towers close enough is the easiest way,.. and setup an entire planet focused on farming fog.
Hm, I'll have to look into the proliferator thing, I hadn't heard that anywhere! I hadn't wanted to dip into stackers yet, but that could maybe work. I'm thinking of doing something else as far as refactoring loot sorting (starting in the next video), so I'm not sure which way things will go yet. Thank you for all the feedback, here and on other videos, I appreciate it!
The problem with your new defensive point is that you placed it so that the Fog essentially flanks it every time, since they all attack a single turret that is the closest. Whereas you have dozens of lasers there, only four greet the enemy. Adding analysis station won't help when lasers are nuked before drones can even launch. I kinda wonder why you haven't turned your setup 90 degrees to make them spread their shots. Alternatively, it seems that if you remove like 6 closest rows, Fog will ignore it completely, or at least mostly.
This is a good point. I try to do a bit more with it in the next video, but trying to realign the whole thing towards the fog more effectively is probably a good change to make in a future session. I'm currently pondering a larger change to how I have the defensive points placed, so might try to tear down that location entirely soon.
might want to invest in energy and explosive weapon damage upgrades in the research tree, will help the laser turrets, i think im like lvl 4 upgrades on my energy damage research and my laser turrets chew thru 120+ fairly easy. With the planetary shields, it takes lot of power to charge them, but if you dont have much power to feed them during an attack, they will go down, as the shield repair/recharge is based on available unused power on the main power grid.
In all honesty, I'd forgotten about the damage upgrades! Will definitely look into those next session. I'm pretty worried about the planetary shields/first space attack, I'm honestly not sure what to expect, so I appreciate the warning. Probably need a lot more power in the immediate future.
@@kalennoreth im running my main planet on a dyson sphere sails as well as geoThermal plants and i still maxed out my power network with 1 gigwatt capacity, but i placed down like 26 or so shield gens for 98% planet coverage. Once they are done charging, their power usage goes down to 12mw. If you can get a coal patch, i would get into making a geothermal plant farm running on Energetic Graphite to help boost your power network, and as you upgrade, you can upgrade what you feed the geothermal plants.
