Why do people keep saying that Ocean is weak in the inner lands? It's like saying sharks are weak on dry land. Does one spirit have to do everything? Ocean can take care of every single coastal area on the map. Shouldn't someone else at least try to deal with the inner lands? Just because each spirit starts on a specific board doesn't mean they sign their name on it. All spirits are responsible for the entire island. Ocean can go on any board. It's not a trade off, that's just where Ocean has presence. Other spirits can deal with inner lands. Just because Ocean starts on a board that contains inner lands doesn't mean they're his responsibility. His responsibility is dealing with coastal areas.

Thanks for the nice video, you make it looks so easy. Is it possible to beat rivers solo without fast tracking bottom lane and lumping up invaders on a coastal city? Everyone says this game is easy on difficulty 0, but I can't see any solutions other than the general strategy you provided.

How does “blood draws predators” give 3 damage when there are only 2 beasts in the land. The card reads “1 damage per beast (max 3). The land only had 2 beasts, so how was the city destroyed? 10:17

Thanks for the video. I do like a lot the idea behind this spirit. However I think it's a bit complicated to start with. That's why I think that Horizon of Spirit Island have the best spirits to initiate new players in Spirit Island Game.

Keeper is my favorite so far, including thematically. Just building up a wall of wilds and smashing anything that comes close. Close contenders for theme are Lure and Ocean of course

Wait wait wait. I'm very confused about thunderspeaker. I've the tabletop version in italian. Nowhere Is written that dahan, everytime you push them in a Land with your presence, inflict damage. Can you explain It? Somewhere on the Spirit tile or in the rulesbook Is written something that i missed? Help me please, this game make me Nightmares.

Amazing game! It looks like a slightly unconventional play is needed to tackle England.. I was thinking of drafting Encompassing Ward over Elusive Ambushes and then reclaim Rain of blood to threshold Paralyzing, but I guess we would have run out of energy to sustain that.

Just played my 5th game of Spirit Island using Vengeance, and Vengeance is my favorite so far! My wife and I just got into the game a few weeks ago, and after the first 3 games, I went all in and bought every expansion. She played Ocean's Hungry Grasp, and I was itching to try the Fire Lizard (I love Lizards so I had to try Vengeance immediately). We played with Events (it was only our 2nd game with Events) and we randomly selected the Blight card (it was All Things Weaken). The game ended with the Blight card flipped (and only 1 Blight left on the card), all Cities destroyed (with only a couple Towns and a handful of Explorers), both of us with only 3 Presence (each), and SO much Disease and Blight spread across both boards. It was the most intense, on-the-edge-of-our-seats game we've played yet! It was SO fun to see what I thought was going to be our first loss (we'd won all 4 games so far), only for me to realize the Major power I drafted that very same turn generated 2 Fear; we needed EXACTLY 2 Fear to flip the Fear card and get Terror Level 3. We immediately met the victory condition, as all Cities were already destroyed. It was such a satisfying game! Your videos have been a joy to watch as a new player and have helped a TON in understanding the subtle intricacies of this game. Keep up the great content!

Around 24:32, I think because the event says, "Spirits may prevent...." then it is considered a spirt action, but I agree it is counter intuitive.

Tried the strategy and defeat lvl 5 Sweden. Watching this tutorial video twice with pause pays off. Thanks

Such amazing guide videos for Spirits! I wanted to ask what program you are using to play Spirit Island as you do in your videos?

Seeing you take over the world and unifying humanity only to have everything surrender to the aliens as nothing more than slaves and tribute leaves a bead teste in my mouth. I hope that you will make a humanity first playthrough at some point.

I would have use Darkness Swallows on the Explorer in Land 8, because Mantle of Dread could push the other one *and* its town out of Land 5
