I grew up in Hinkley for a long time... that store was the meeting point for us kids.. and that was my gma in the video this is the closest thing to real I've seen of her since I left for college back in 2012 .. love you gna RIP and this man was amazing took care of us so sad :(
I personally knew this man, I used to see him and his clerk Romeo with his two cats every day, or at least thrice a week for years! I miss his store, I sometimes have dreams about my old home. This makes me so very sad for him and his family. ...Darrel ♡
As a resident of Hinckley in Leicestershire England I feel genuine sympathy for this store owner in our (almost) namesake town in USA he has worked hard but the American dream has failed him and from what I see he provides well for his community - come on over there support him to continue doing a good job, he hasn't let you down don't let him down .
My parents bought 20 acres on Mountainview near Community Blvd. in 1959. We lived there till 1965 when we had to move. The Hinkley store I believe was called Fern's Mkt.
Where exactly did you live? I lived on Mountain View, near Community as well. Had to leave in 2012 when PG&E bought us out. Just curious as to whether or not we lived on the same land, or near it.

Torn down now. Just an empty plot.
Ugh what a mess, I hate to see communities die like this.
Sad 😞
