Dude, I know how you feel. Sometimes it’s one thing after another. My 03 Ram 2500 had the lightning bolt flashing even after changing the TB (Hitachi new) and doing the relearn like 20 times. Nothing worked. I left a few comments and you really tried to help me; much appreciated for all that, bro. Turns out it was my intake gasket was leaking, and that was throwing everything all out of whack. Works now. Thanks again and best of luck with this issue; I’m sure I’ll have something similar come up soon too (hope not though lol).
My truck is the 2002 5.9 Mag but was made when Dodge was going to the 03 body style. Luckily for me my accelerator wasn’t changed up to the style you have here. My throttle is still controlled with a cable lol. That being said under my dash there is some type of senor that connects to the steering shaft and for the life of me I can’t find it anywhere online nor do I know what it’s called. I would assume it’s a neutral safety switch or something to do With the cruise control
Hope you get it figured out man....I feel you Just did brakes on my 2011 Ford Ranger and I think i messed up ABS pump or something front brakes are draggig
There is a fuse called imo or something like that that reset the computer when you pull it. Otherwise maybe a hard tipm reset. Damn bro. Hang in there I'm here for you . I'll research forums etc

411k miles. That’s just love and care for it! They’ll go! Fuck what people say V8s and diesels especially older ones can go on and on. Surely it’ll get issues being so up there nothing lasts forever. But it can last a hell of a long time. Still have my 2003 1500 hemi with over 270k miles but I wanted to rebuild everything so I did when it hit 253k best to do it as early as I could. It would of went how it was for sure just needed some misfiring took care of think it was fuel related or air.
Can you read the APPS live data voltages? Might want to check the connector at the sensor. I would try the relearn holding the pedal half way down to see if anything changes.
I did the exact same thing. For no particular reason, I did a throttlebody relearn on my scan tool. The same exact thing happened. The truck would start but nothing with the pedal. So what was the final fix? A new throttle body?
I had a Jeep cherokee that kept dying, like start an die. Took it to dealer which I dont usually recommend but anyway they had to "reflash" one of the controls. It fixed it as long as i had it it never did that again. maybe something could be reflagged on that

@DanielShelton-bm5el so the first thing you want to do it check for vacum leaks around throttle body and intake. Do this by spraying starter fluid around intake and throttle body. If and when idle changes your vacum leak is in that general area. If not that the throttle body could have gone bad on you sir

So I thought I had this problem solved...been going through same problem since Dec 22...I have changed every sensor in my 03 dodge ram 5.7 l...I have spent $1900.00 from catalytic converter to every sensor...even thought my PCM bad...Finally after all that...I changed 16 spark plugs in that 5.7 l hemi...yes 16 and after 3 1/2 hrs later...I have drove my truck for over 200 miles and no LIGHTNING BOLT...This has been the worse problem I've come across on this truck...save your money...change your plugs...coil packs will read 0.00 ohms if good on the two pins...just helping with this journey...but this one hurt the wallet
Have you try to disconnect battery and reset system. When mine was flashing I replaced the throttle body and problem solved. When the lightning bolt was on steady and not flashing it was the pcm
@@autoguydiy4244 it could be a vacuum leak I'll check later but I doubt it's that because I replaced the throttle body all my gaskets are good and tight
I have a picture that describes where you need to solder on the back of the gauge cluster to make your RPM work again. If you want me to send it I can send it to your email otherwise no worries

@@joewilson2968 it sounds to me like something is going on in your top end. Like a valve spring. That's what my 03 sounded like when I dropped 3 of my valve springs
I haven't taken the covers off, I can check that for sure. It was sounding rough today but I haven't started it in a few days. I'll check that and see what it looks like in there, thanks for giving it a watch man!

@asfowenn start your truck spray starter fluid around your intake. If the idle changes you gave a vacum leak around your intake

The throttle body should be sold separately from the gas pedal. Is your etc light flashing or steadily on

When you cleaned the throttle body, you dont think moving that butterfly cause that huh
When I did the Throttle relearn procedure it went down hill fast. Fried the pcm. When I cleaned the Throttle body it ran good
I did the exact same thing. For no particular reason, I did a throttlebody relearn on my scan tool. The same exact thing happened. The truck would start but nothing with the pedal.
So what was the final fix? A new throttle body?
New pcm
Dang, that's above my pay grade.
I'd pay extra for a good 4 barrel and some points and plugs and a cable on the gas peddle.

Why did you have to unplug the throttle body I thought when you touch the positive and negative cables together it clears all computers
