21:28 Suchong's tape here, for some reason, has always stuck with me. He comes across a black swan event, a 'wtf.' A parallel universe steampunk tech thief. And what does Suchong do? *He starts stealing right back.* That's some kind of ambitious, I gotta admit.
Bioshock is the greatest game series of all time and nobody can cause my mind. What game is as unique as this? What game has a location as iconic and unique as rapture or Columbia? I can’t think of any. This is just my opinion. I just love it! It’s nice to see so many people are still experiencing this series for the first time. I’ve been waiting so long for a new bioshock. It’s been rumored for years now and I’m so excited to see what we will get from a next gen bioshock game.
I wouldn't feel too bad for this Comstock. Remember, it was only after he had built Columbia and had been working with the Luteces for quite a while that he found out he was sterile. He was still almost the same Comstock in the main game.
@@Mandalore_ultimate Yeah, this. This is why I refer to this one as Bookerstock lol because he was more of a cross between the two. This is definitely where Elizabeth really lost herself to her rage and trauma, and she knew it later. The main game already pointed out that Elizabeth has issues with misplaced rage due to trauma because of the way Lady Comstock was siphoned into her world as a tormented "ghost" from her own anger, so this isn't ooc for her, either. She's been severely traumatized, and after she also lost Booker - the one she really cared about - she lost herself. She even hallucinated his voice after a while because she missed him so badly. It's incredibly sad.
Really enjoying this playthrough. You actually enjoy the lore and the story. And most of all, you catch the little things that pulls the whole thing together. So important in this series.
She’s probably the most intelligent and enjoyable Let’s Player I’ve ever watched. Does not stare at a distracting stupid Twitch chat while playing and actually discusses the stories.
Just FYI, when you were at the area with the electrified water, u could have used old man winter to freeze the water and safely walk over it to collect bucking bronco and some gear. Really looking forward to part 2!
The ingestible plasmids and "alternative" names only exist in Fontaine's I believe... Suchong developed them while under his employ but after it was sunk, Ryan Industries took over development and released them purely as the injectible kind - Devils Kiss became Incinerate, Shock Jockey = Electrobolt etc etc I could be wrong but that's how I always understood it
I thought this too. And I also think you can hear audio commercials in Fontaine's were ingestible plasmids were presented as a new thing. I think it was a fairly new 'invention' by Suchong that wasn't in full development, certainly not at full stock on the market. I understood that because department store sunk to the bottom of the ocean and on new years day the fall starts, the injectable plasmids remained the go to plasmids. I have no explanation for the Lutece infusions though.
I _think_ this might be a different Elizabeth...from one of the other time loops... ...Because your Elizabeth had the cage necklace, but this one had the bird necklace. If I'm ever obscenely wealthy, I'm totally building Rapture; it's so gorgeous.
The necklace is not important, once Elizabeth became the only Elizabeth she used the bird pendant always, so it's always bird in burial at sea, no matter your choices. Also, Cyn played Infinite main story in PC and she is playing the DLC in PS. (I know I'm late)
You've become one of my favorite youtubers so fast. Your content is so nice and you actually analyze all the games you do. It's a different, fresh kind of fun compared to most who roll with the punches of the game.
I'm doing a university creative writting course and a lecturer said "Computer games don't tell good stories." I told her to come start watching your play of this.
What a treat, all of EP1 on one go! EP2 is undoubtedly my favourite piece of BioShock, besides from the original game. For me it just ties everything together perfectly, and on top of the perfect story there's interesting mechanics and so on too. Can't wait!
I have a feeling you probably already finished the DLC by the time this is uploaded, but if you haven’t then I know you’re going to love/hate how this ends. It’s the perfect epilogue to Infinite and perfect prologue to the original bioshock. IMHO
That moment at 3:05, when we FINALLY....FINALLY get to see Rapture in it's glory before the collapse. See how truly amazing and beautiful it was. That moment was magical!
Another great playthrough and reaction. What I liked about the DLCs war the scarcity of ressources and they designed it with less, but more impactful, encounters. Had kind of a feeling of classic survival horror games.
If Comstock was smothered before his birth, this doesn't make any sense. Even a failed version of him that killed Anna wouldn't exist. Therefore this part seems be one of many failed attempts that Anna/Elizabeth tried before the one in the game where Comstock really was eliminated. Constants and Variables.
Best play through commentary so far! I’ve watched so many and few have the same level of wonderment and plot connecting/referencing as I had when playing Burial for the first time! Looking forward to watching the rest!
I love how your first comment on booker is "we have a gambling problem, booker why is this a constant?" Seriously it's funny as hell to think no matter the universe booker is just a self destructive, yet surprisingly capable, addict.
Your Bioshock playthroughs are awesome and you're really insightful. It didn't even occur to me that the dance in this was a parallel to Elizabeth in Battleship Bay in the main game.
Fun to watch someone else experience this game for the first time, and try to peace together the plot. I’m only jealous you arrived when the game and all the dlc has been released. It was a nightmare having to wait for both episodes of Burial at Sea.
Great videos with your Bioshock playthroughs! When you are done with the DLCs you should try the predecessor to the Bioshock series System Shock 2. It's a great game that has a good story. Likewise, Prey (2017) would also be a good game to do after Bioshock for the same reasons.
It's the same dimension as the first game, the digestible plasmids, big daddy's with grappling drill were just recent additions and were short lived because of the civil war
Well that's the next 2 hours of my time SORTED. Burial At Sea is just one of the most PERFECT things to come out of the Bioshock universe , Cyn , and your playthrough is top notch as always. Revisiting Rapture in its prime is a TREAT BEYOND WORDS.
What a treat it was to accidentally find your channel then binge watch your BioShock Infinite playlist. You're smart, observant, skilled at gaming, pretty, and you stop talking immediately when the Luteces appear. Congratulations on being my latest internet crush.
I literally commented on your last BioShock video about three hours ago that you need to play the DLC. I come back to TH-cam and see this video released exactly 1 hour after that comment. Nice.
I've never played bioshock before, but after having watched every episode of yours, I'm just as excited to see Rapture in its prime. I want it to stay like this.
I'm about halfway through this video, so I don't know if you later come to this conclusion on your own or not, but it seems to me that Suchong was only testing Columbia's "plasmids", and only in Fontaine Futuristics, because he was still employed by Fontaine at that time - and then when Ryan hired Suchong for the Big Daddy/Little Sister pairing project, Suchong abandoned that next phase of plasmid development with Fontaine and his department store, so none of those were found elsewhere in Rapture. I wish that had been explained better in a separate audio log down there, but I suppose that was more or less implied.
Drowning Booker didn't eliminate every version of Comstock. So she had to hunt them all down. Because every Comstock has the potential to ruin the world. You were the final Comstock in this dlc. She wasn't doing it for bloodthirsty revenge. The work is done now and every reality is safe thanks to Elizabeth
It was for revenge lmao. Elizabeth even said it was in Episode 2. Columbia ceased to exist and this Comstock went back to his preview identity and took in a young orphan girl. Lol what damage was this Comstock doing to the multiverse?
1:12:20, Yeah I think it would've been better if Fontaine had said "would you kindly inject that plasmid" or something along those lines when you inject your first plasmid at the beginning of Bioshock 1. It would've made more sense when you finally understand what effect those words have on Jack.
Something about the mix of Modern civilisation and the late 50's style. Makes this DLC one of a kind. Imagine (if it would work) Living in those times.. Such a fun time
No, that WAS a version of Comstock. He had already accepted the baptism and had attempted to get a child, except in his version of events he couldn't hold onto the child and instead of pulling her through and her losing a finger to the other side, she lost her head on his side. That drove him to not want to face his actions and he instead asked the "twins" to send him some place to start a new life for himself, and once he was in rapture, he shaved his beard and "became" his old self again, creating new memories to block the old ones. tl;dr: you were never playing Booker in this part, you were playing Comstock and "our Elizabeth" was, in fact, cleaning house as it were.
This is the first time I've seen the Bioshock twist really catch you by surprise. Yeah, as far as Elizabeth's concerned this wasn't Booker, he was a Comstock and so had to die. Also, this isn't a different version of Rapture but it's the Rapture that you as Jack will play through. The in-universe justification for drinkable plasmids is that they are actually pretty new and just put out on the market. With the Rapture Civil War literally less then 24 hours away things go to hell very quickly and they stop production on the new drinkables to focus on the older but cheaper injectable plasmids. By the time Jack shows up all that's left are the injectable ADAM and EVE.
The let's player says it's their Elizabeth because she wears the bird pendant, but I also watched a few of the main game let's play and I'm quite sure they chose the cage not the bird.
Couldn't get into BioShock 3, it had a few issues I couldn't get over. This DLC though was a saving grace for the game. It fixes most things and is kind of amazing.
About the plasmids/vigours - personally I wouldn't read too deeply into that, the game was based on infinite and they weren't going to re-do all their animations etc.
21:28 Suchong's tape here, for some reason, has always stuck with me. He comes across a black swan event, a 'wtf.'
A parallel universe steampunk tech thief.
And what does Suchong do? *He starts stealing right back.* That's some kind of ambitious, I gotta admit.
26:46 has anyone else noticed that the footage is just that of the roise we see at the start of bioshock 2 just before we pick up the rivet gun?
This might be the series I'm most excited about right now, and one of the top ever, this video in my feed equals glory
Bioshock is the greatest game series of all time and nobody can cause my mind. What game is as unique as this? What game has a location as iconic and unique as rapture or Columbia? He actually wasn't though since he really cared about Sally and was truly sorry for what he did to Elizabeth.
@@Mandalore_ultimate Yeah, this. This is why I refer to this one as Bookerstock lol because he was more of a cross between the two. Your face being lit with a smile the entire episode was awesome. Like you, many of us wanted to see Rapture in its prime and this DLC was a treat.
When you said in the first Bioshock that you'd love to explore Rapture before its fall, I knew you'd love this DLC.
Just FYI, when you were at the area with the electrified water, u could have used old man winter to freeze the water and safely walk over it to collect bucking bronco and some gear. Really looking forward to part 2!
Thing that I didn't notice when I played through: Elizabeth didn't react when Booker did the execution-style kill
The ingestible plasmids and "alternative" names only exist in Fontaine's I believe... Suchong developed them while under his employ but after it was sunk, Ryan Industries took over development and released them purely as the injectible kind - Devils Kiss became Incinerate, Shock Jockey = Electrobolt etc etc

we just all want Elizabeth to be happy... yes, we all do.
I _think_ this might be a different Elizabeth...from one of the other time loops...
...Because your Elizabeth had the cage necklace, but this one had the bird necklace.

That look of sheer joy when you heard Kevin flying around again.
You've become one of my favorite youtubers so fast. Your content is so nice and you actually analyze all the games you do. It's a different, fresh kind of fun compared to most who roll with the punches of the game.
Oh Cynth... you thought this was a shocker? This is only the beginning.
Great to see you play this! You and me share one thing: a great love for Rapture! 🤗🤗🤗
I'm doing a university creative writting course and a lecturer said "Computer games don't tell good stories." I told her to come start watching your play of this.

Have loved all your Bioshock playthroughs, Ms. Cyn! A series I think you'd like is Dishonored, similar vibes and gameplay. Cheers!
Oh! I second that suggestion! Corvo and Daud are my most favorite enemies!
its such a joy to watch someone experience Bioshock, Wish I could do the same again!
Another great playthrough and reaction.
What I liked about the DLCs war the scarcity of ressources and they designed it with less, but more impactful, encounters. Had kind of a feeling of classic survival horror games.

I'm curious to see how soon she puts it all together. Probably pretty fast.
I think she wrote the script without realising it when she was like 7, that’s the only explanation
“It’s a Kevin!” Lol
I think we just witnessed the "Afterlife" Cyn want's to end up going
Even in the brightest parts of Rapture, it feels so claustrophobic
Best play through commentary so far! I’ve watched so many and few have the same level of wonderment and plot connecting/referencing as I had when playing Burial for the first time! Looking forward to watching the rest!
I love how your first comment on booker is "we have a gambling problem, booker why is this a constant?" Seriously it's funny as hell to think no matter the universe booker is just a self destructive, yet surprisingly capable, addict.
Across any time stream, the Luteces were known to mark certain character traits...
I feel sorry for the last comstock
Love how enthusiastic you are about these games, your a kindred spirit.
Fun fact : that is the female angler fish. the male is much smaller and merges into the female's body permanently.
Death ray. :D
*Splicer minding her own business
Cyn: *Shoots splicer in the face
Cyn: I took that personally
I love your face when you see rapture in its golden age
She ultimately sealed her fate with this one though.
Finally!! I been waiting for this for a whole damn week!!
Great videos with your Bioshock playthroughs! When you are done with the DLCs you should try the predecessor to the Bioshock series System Shock 2. It's a great game that has a good story. Likewise, Prey (2017) would also be a good game to do after Bioshock for the same reasons.
Those would be perfect games for her to play through, +1 to this suggestion.
It's the same dimension as the first game, the digestible plasmids, big daddy's with grappling drill were just recent additions and were short lived because of the civil war
It's been a long time since I've anticipated a TH-cam video this much. Bravo.
For some reason I really want to see you take a crack at LA Noir
Ooh, yeah, Cyn would most definitely enjoy L.A. Noire! And I know I'd enjoy watching her play it!
I would LOVE that. And Tomb Raider or Control if she hasn't played those in her free time already. Dishonored would be a great one too.
Hello I'm from korea :) Algorythm leads me to here. Have a nice day :))
Again, loving your genuine surprise and enthousiasm. Some may have called this fan service, but it`s certainly the best kind of fan survice.
Cyn's face when she opens the door to Rapture... Pure joy😍
Never occurred to me how much Cohen seems to emulate Vincent Price.
Love your videos. You look pretty in your videos. Can't wait to see next episode.
26:45
That's a clip from bioshock 2
Been waiting for this, happy it's up. Will be watching tonight at work.
Well that's the next 2 hours of my time SORTED. Burial At Sea is just one of the most PERFECT things to come out of the Bioshock universe , Cyn , and your playthrough is top notch as always.

You have 2 wishes lift
35: 07 Love the Will Byers haircut. Love.
Been waiting for you to get here since i watched you fall in love with Rapture.
this is one of the best DLC you can ever play both this and second DLC Burial at sea 2
Finally! I have been looking forward to this. This is going to be great!
Enjoying the Play Through! Hope you had a great weekend! 🤗
Moving dimensions, the mind will make memories where none exist
I've never played bioshock before, but after having watched every episode of yours, I'm just as excited to see Rapture in its prime. I want it to stay like this.
I'm so excited Cyn!!! I've been waiting for this one ❤️❤️❤️
OMG I’m so glad your playing burial stuff sea, it’s so good
omg she knows the lore so well
Thank you for this series. I've started to follow your videos recently and you're pretty good with your way of thinking/theories!
Ah, the glorious call of the Kevin. Such a marvelous creature.
Also, 1:37:47 - lmao I know, right? The samurai is so wonderfully random. I want a BioShock with more of a Japanese setting now.
What do you call a group of rabbits that are hopping backwards? A receding hare line.
Drowning Booker didn't eliminate every version of Comstock. So she had to hunt them all down. Because every Comstock has the potential to ruin the world. You were the final Comstock in this dlc. Hehehe you're so excited seeing this again eh Cyn. Can't wait for you to see the end, and part 2.
Fitzpatrick, the guy dancing with Cohen's muse, is the same person playing the piano when Cohen blows him up in Bioshock 1
This DLC is honestly my favourite part of the entire bioshock series (part 2 moreso than part 1)
Yaaay finally see you play Burial at sea
Love your playthroughs, your enjoyment of the game is very communicative ;) !
Yes! I was waiting for you to play this after watching you're other bioshock playthrough!
Something about the mix of Modern civilisation and the late 50's style. Makes this DLC one of a kind. Imagine (if it would work) Living in those times.. Such a fun time
Tenenbaunt image reminded me of X-files Scully
really looking forward to part 2!!
You got me, I replayed the OG and got the DLC. Looks great on a modern gaming PC turned up max and its still great fun.
@4:45 I was wondering how long it would take you to put that together. Loved this.
Like kid in a candy store, I'm sure I'm happy I'm not one of our dear gamers parents 😉
No, that WAS a version of Comstock. Kind of spoilery considering all of this is explained in Episode 2!
This is the same city, just developers decided to associate infinite and Rapture
there are answers to at least some of your questions in Ep2. There is also a Bioshock 4 apparently in production.
Burial at Sea, yay!
yay !! so excited for this, such a good dlc.
I don’t know if you’ve ever been told this but your voice sounds like it’d be great for voice acting characters and such.
after you finish this, I recommend you play Prey it's not bioshock but it's pretty similar and is an awesome game
What makes these letsplays perfect, it's Cynth's thoughts after play 🤓👍 good to hear smart person
Does that Elizabeth know of the bioshock infinite main campaign? She said sky hook which I think is from the main campaign
I love bioshock infinite such a great game
About the plasmids/vigours - personally I wouldn't read too deeply into that, the game was based on infinite and they weren't going to re-do all their animations etc.
Looking forward to Episode 2. Another wild ride!
Heck yes I’m so happy you’re playing this masterpiece of a DLC..
How is Cohen so unself-aware of how embarrassing he is?
IM SOO EXCITED You should make a community Discord for your viewers and yourself for closer connection!
There is a Discord server! If you go over to her Twitch channel: www.twitch.tv/cyntheticss you'll find the link in the panels of the About section!
It seems that Cynthia is "En-Rapture-d"
