Fabulous knitting content as always Selma (and I do not believe your house could be anything like a mess in other areas we don't see!!). But the snowy walk at the end, and the fabulous singer and song just made it extra wonderful. Very happy to buy you a Ko-fi and it's nice to say thank you in this way. xx
Well I would not podcast from most spots I must say… but that’s ok! I’m a piler upper as i call it… thank you so much Sur!! I always look forward to reading your comments!!
Selma, your vest is gorgeous! I am a Louise Penny fan, have read all her books and didn't think I would enjoy the Three Pines series but, I did. The casting is much improved from the CBC version from several years ago. One of the books does address the topic of missing and murdered indigenous women but I like how it is a consistent storyline in this series. I have just today ordered some suri alpaca to hold together with fingering yarn to attempt my first Ranunculus - probably sometime in March. I don't set a word of the year but for the last couple of years I have been working hard on developing my resilience - both physical and mental . As I am in my 60s, this means recognizing the limits of my energy, both physical and mental, and respecting them. I am also working on recognizing what fuels my energy tank, such as knitting, and ensuring I make time for those things. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful projects and nature walks. Stay well!
Your pink Stockholm Slipover looks fabulous on you Selma! 💖 And your Shawl is already looking fabulous! A lovely way to use scraps and minis. Can't wait to see the end result. Cheers!🥰
Thank you Selma! Wonderful winter scene footage! Holst supersoft with a strand of mohair - yes! So soft and light, no need at all to prewash- for me anyway. That bright pink - such a winner for winter wear and knitting!
Your knits are always beautiful. I always look forward to see what you are knitting and what new beautiful yarns you have found. You inspire me. I love the patterns you choose because they are mostly very elegant and you let the yarn shine instead of the pattern. You talked about being overwhelmed last year. I have been on that road. Sometimes you need to let go. By that I mean, turn off the tv and radio. Turn off the media and do something that lets your body relax and heal. Knitting is one, but reading is another that has helped me. Nothing that makes me have to think, but books that bring me joy. I love mysteries. I can remember, as a child, (I'm 70 now), how even when my parents were worried about what ever, I was busy in my little world creating something by coloring, or writing, or just going outside and doing flips in the yard. That is where us as adults have lost that ability to just be. As adults we can't walk away from life and what it throws at us. But we can throw back, and we can still be kids. I still color. I have color crayons, and colored pencils and markers and color books and sometimes I spend the whole day coloring. When I do that, my mind just blanks out and mind is busy thinking of what color will go well with the other. It really is meditative. I hope 2023 is a joyous one for you and I look forward to seeing all your podcasts.
Well it sounds like we were a carbon copy of one another as kids!! And I think you are right that applying that same principle as when we were kids is very important!
I don't choose a word of the year, but I choose Bible verses of the year. I memorize them and repeat them each morning. My verses for 2023 are: "Since God chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful." Colossians 3:12-15. New Living Translation
The hot pink slip over is fabulous, as is the white one, but oh that bright pink, just makes a person smile. Lovely knits and lovely gifts and acquisitions. How wonderful to have people know enough about knitting to gift you such lovely yarn and books and such (the tatting is lovely). I don’t make resolutions, as I am too rebellious and then end up not following through, but themes I do gravitate towards. Gratitude is an ongoing theme- as a clinical Counsellor I explored the research and just thinking of things you might be grateful for increases serotonin and dopamine- how about that- generate your own “medication”! 🤗 I am now in my seventies and when I think back there were so many years when strength and perseverance and stamina were the mainstay of my days, that I just want to spend my time in gentle ways and enjoy the beauty of each day now and knitting is still part of what saves me and sustains me- thankfully- may my hands and eyes never give way. I am just binge watching Three Pines and so enjoying it. I will listen to some of Louise Penny’s books, as I like her way of writing. Thanks for the recommendations. May 2023 be an easier one for you, Selma. I would not have described myself as a strong person, but must say I have surprised myself along the way, and I am sure you will surprise yourself too. I certainly see a strong person shining through.
@@littlebigknits For sure! Today I am in California and had the wonder of reading books and cuddling with my two tiniest grandchildren and how great these little moments are seeing the world through toddlers eyes- simple pleasures that bring joy to my heart. 💕
I love you and your hot pink vest! How fun!! Your sharing was so poignant today, Selma, and I so admire you for sharing. My prayer for you this year is a blessing for you to have no more moments of “just too much” and a relaxing and healthy year with newfound strength and wonderment in all phases of your life! Hugs and more hugs!! 🥰
I too really enjoyTHE BLACK SHEEP KNITTER PODCAST and THREE PINES!!! Your HOT PINK VEST Is AMAZING ❤❤❤ GREAT PODCAST as always! Lovely music and footage at the end!! Looking forward to spending more time with you this year whilst I knit 😍
Also Selma, my prayers are with you that 2023 gives you strength you are needing … God is always there when you reach out to him and ask I look forward to all your podcast .. I look so forward to seeing you in my living room while I knit 😊
Thanks for sharing your struggles. So relatable. I think we assume podcasters have it all together all the time! LOL! Sending warm hugs and thanks for all you do!
We are all just ordinary people! At least the majority of us… I’m sure there is someone out there with it all together 🤔🤔 somewhere… 😆 but that wouldn’t be me!
Thank you, Selma, for your insightful look at the word of the year. Yes, I try to choose a word for personal growth. This year I have chosen "completion". I will be completing a 32 year teaching career and need to focus on finishing the myriad of projects that I have started. I think this will help me transition from the world of work to creating a balanced life of craft, exercise and strengthening relationships with friends and family. You look gorgeous in your pink vest.
Hi Selma - love that you shared about your last year - it resonated with me. Your ability to pick up and go (even with “design element mistakes” in knitting lol) is strength in itself. One mini goal of mine is to continue Winter walking even during our brutal Canadian Winters. It gives me peace and harmony being one with nature. Love 💗 your gorgeous pink vest!
Selma, I love the pink vest. Glad to see you again in 2023. Some days are tough. I’m glad that you are finding your way through your challenges. Cheers to a great year!!💜💜
Hi! I lived in Gander during the 9/11 attack. I’ll never forget the tons of people wandering up the side of the highway just lost in so many way, so sad.. also I love your pink vest !
Thank you for the lovely podcast. I really enjoyed it. I am making a ranunculus out of 2 strands of holst garn supersoft just about ready to wash and block. My word this year is faith.
Selma! That pink vest! Stunner on you!💗 Another great podcast! Funny, you should talk about your troubling past year! Mine was upside down, too! And I, too, found things hard to handle. In fact, I felt weak! That's why the words I'm clinging to this year are BRAVERY and STRENGTH, as I face some medical challenges. I'm just trying to put one foot in front of the other and take one day at a time. And I always find peace in the clicking of my needles. Happy week to you! 😉
Thank you so much for being true and honest, it touch me a lot 🫶 Last year my word was inspiration, that’s how I began to watch Podcast. This year my word is Joy, I decided that I need more of it in my life 😊
Pink is a great color on you & I love the subtle depth the 2nd color added to the vest. Selma, the connections MAL changed me & I thank you for that. We have a thrift store that supports a shelter for battered women I'm 1/2 way through the 6th hat for them. It feels really good. So sorry last year was difficult- here's to a better 2023. And thanks for your podcasts!
I haven’t thought about a word for the year but I’m encouraged to give it a go last year was full of ongoing health issues thanks to long covid this year so far has been dramatic to say the least with a breast cancer scare I’m ok but facing an operation in March to stop anything from going rogue so my word is going to be RENEW All the way. Thanks Selma for such a great idea much kinder to your soul than setting resolutions which make you feel you’ve failed if you don’t follow through. Pink vest is glorious looks great on you. Loved the music and beautiful scenery uplifted my mood on a grey overcast day in the U.K.
Thanks for another lovely podcast, Selma. My word for the year is growth. I feel the need to grow as a person after too many years of treading water. Hope your 2023 is all you want it to be.
I think we had similar 2022s. I also felt like it was too much to handle, just so so hard. But we made it through! May 2023 be a smoother ride 🙏🏿 My word for 2023, which I hadn't chosen yet, will be ease. I'd like life to be much easier this year and however I can accomplish that will take priority 🙏🏿 So lots of nature and knitting! On a lighter note, I adore that bright pink combo! Such an unexpected and beautiful color for a vest! I'm planning a black Cargill with brushed suri alpaca but the swatch seemed to show the stitch well enough. We'll see if I regret it 🤣 I also really want to make that blanket you showed, and the Sark(sp?) book looks like something I must pick up! So many things to add to my queue!! And Eddie Vedder was my high school crush. He just didn't know it 🙃 Finally, thank you so much for shouting me out! I appreciate the warm welcome ☺️
May 2023 be a year of ease for you!! I am sure thé Suri will relax and given the pop of the dip stitch it probably will more than usual. I’ll be watching to find out!! Eddie Vedder!! I’ve left two concerts of theirs now feeling so full of goodness!! The energy!! You’ll have to check out I Am Mine on audible (if that’s your thing)
My two favorite authors are Canadian: Guy Gavriel Kay and Louise Penny. I don't have Amazon Prime so I couldn't watch the TV series, but after hearing the comments I don't really mind. Do keep on with the books - some of them are better than others but the character development over time is amazing!
The hot pink vest is fantastic! Makes me want to knit a slipover, though no pink for me! Thanks for the nice video, the music at the end was just long enough for me to finish my row.
Love that vest, gorgeous color. I also enjoy Louise Penny very much. Thank you so much for all the inspiration you provide and the wonderful video footage and music at the end. Take care, stay strong
A bit late with this, I’m catching up with knitting podcasts. I have to tell you, my husband bought me the first 5 Gamache books for Christmas . Now I’ve been an avid reader all my life but 2020 pandemic - I stopped reading! Totally! Me that could crack r novels on a week! Anyway, we steamed through the 5, bought the next 5 and have just bought numbers 10-15. We love them! As well as being cracking books we’ve learned lots about Quebec too. And I have to say, Selma, that while reading, I have YOU in mind when I m reading about Reine-Marie! I know she is older than you but her calmness and kindness seem to be epitomised on the you I’ve come to know through the podcast. I think we have 2 more books to go…but hey, I’m back reading again! Thank you `Louise Penny! As for the Three Pines series, well, , I thought the casting was quite good and I understand the purist standpoint but hey it was a bit of fun. In other news - love that vest! I think there may be one in my future! Thanks for a lovely podcast!
Beautiful, beautiful vest. The colour looks amazing on you ! I'm not one to set New Year Resolutions, instead I am looking at 2023 as an exciting , fresh start...... now that we are out of Covid restrictions. In order to clear my plate for projects, currently I am working on turning WIPs into FOs and spending some time mending and darning those items which need repair. Items which can continue to give others and myself joy, but would make me sad to throw away. We cannot expect to share happiness with others, if we do not have happiness in our life. Thank you for another entertaining Podcast !
Selma, your podcasts just get better and better! I hope 2023 shines brighter for you, just like you do in your lovely pink vest! I used to be a Louise Penny follower having read all but the last two. Personal opinion. But I didn’t know there was a movie about Three Pines. I tracked it down on Prime as a someday. That was good book. Always look forward to your video!! Thank you!
Hey Selma! Vest is fabulous. I love your word of the year! I to hear ya on weird and trying year. I had so many bizarre ailments including teeth and a bubble in my eye- I’ve lost count…. I just try to be happy day by day and take one day at a time. But some focus on strength would be good. Speaking of strength get the book Endurance out of the library by Ernest Shackleton. It’s his first hand account of his team’s to make it to the South Pole. It becomes an epic survival story. To his credit he didn’t lose a single man and the final navigation leg is the finest example of navigation ever undertaken that we know about!
I was so intrigued by your salt lamp I immediately went and tracked it down on Jana's channel! Finnish Knitting Stories, Vlogmas 2022, Day 17, around 14 minutes. Thank you for mentioning it, I've now come back from that rabbit hole to finish watching your episode 😊
Hi Selma! Your pink dress looks so lovely on you. I also did the "pick your four words" and mine were: connection, power, self-care and family. I will keep those in mind throughout the year 🙂
I do understand your need of knitting. I am in the same way, even if I don’t generate so many FO, I do knit every day. During my lunch break, after dinner, but my favorite time is in the morning. I wake up every day at 4:45, I get ready, I make my coffee cup and I knit in the silence of the house with myself! I also prioritize things in my life. And knitting clears my mind and helps me cope with all we have to handle. Do I have dust on the shelves? Probably yes, but does it bother me? Not too much! Once every 2-3 weeks I invite people over “on purpose” so I am force to clean…. And then back to my needles! I hope I will be able soon to make more sweater I love ….
Hello from Denmark 😀 I knit a lot with Holst Supersoft. I do wash it before I use it, but I just put the cakes in nylon stockings, wash the yarn in the machine and let it dry on the radiator. After half a day, I cake up the yarn again so that the inside of the cake becomes the outside. Love this yarn 😊
Thanks for admitting to prioritize knitting over tidying up sometimes. 😁 Now I dont't feel as guilty when I spend my evening knitting and ignore the clutter.
I believe that a lot of my physical and mental health is directly related to how much I move my body. I invested recently in an at- home gym. I wish that I had done so long ago! It’s so wonderful! I put a TV on a mount on the wall directly in front of my elliptical and I watch knitting podcasts (including yours!) while I work out. I can swing the tv around so that I can still watch while on the fitness trainer (universal). This has made a huge difference in my life. A good workout makes me feel like a different person. - Thought that I would share. ~
My word is live. Live in the day, the moment. I've had some hard years in the past, and I'm learning more and more how important it is to be present. Your vest is beautiful. And I'm loving the slowing down of projects. I feel like less is more and they probably fill us up more and we're proud. Thanks for talking about the chickadees, lol. I was like how do I get them to eat from my hand? 😂 All the best, kimberly
Living in the moment feels like a life-long challenge!! The conditioning to be in many places at once or projecting into another time is so strong!! Thank you for sharing!
Selma, I agree with you that the Shibui mohair is probably the softest and most "flooffy" I have ever used but I have recently knit a swatch with Rowan Kid Silk Haze and that is fabulous and their colours too. My word for the year is simplicity. I'm looking to simplify my sewing and knitting as well as other routines in my life. Also simplifying steps (eliminating some) from other things I do whether they be in camping or in the gym. I have listened to all Inspector Gamache stories and love them. Sometime this winter I'll watch the season as many others have recommended it too.
Hi Selma, regarding mohair yarns, the two luxury ones I would recommend are Miss Click Clack Casterton Kid Silk (50 gm skeins) from Australia and Nurturing Fibres KidSilk (50gm balls) from South Africa. The most economical all rounder for me is Drops Kid Silk.
Wow! Pretty in pink! You have found your colour. Thank you for another great episode. I love your honesty about your house keeping. I often skip the deep cleaning in exchange for extra knitting time. Thanks for sharing!🥰
My daughter strukkel with mental illnes amongst other she, have had been diagnosed with depression more than once. Every evening she writes 3 good things, that happened during the day in her dairy. That generate positive thinking. So a grattitude journal helps, I know, I've seen it work
So sorry about your loss. I know how hard it is to see the potential for joy as you move forward but I promise you it is there. Wishing you all the best.
Hello Selma. Your vests are just beautiful! Thank you for adding your mods to your ravelry page. I’ve been on the hunt for a vest for quite some time so I’m really appreciative of all your info regarding this one. Well done!
Let it fly is a fantastic lesson for me today - spoken straight into my soul - I absolutely love hot pink, you look wonderful in that colour - stay strong and know you are very appreciated, I love your podcasts.
Ottawa has some of the most beautiful areas to walk in. It's like you got the best of both worlds..a city area and a beautiful woods. The pink vest is a beautiful pink. Love it.
Thank you for an informative and oh so pleasant podcast. Bunny on the mug actually looks like a lamb! (I raise Wensleydale and English Leicester in MN). Cute.
🥰 I love to knit and watch or listen to an audible book. Thank you for answering my question! I have decided to crave out time to crochet for 30 minutes each night in February and continue to knit my various wips!. I am also on a non-buying kick. I am telling myself that it is okay if I do not know what to do with some of my yarn stash.
Lovely podcast, Selma ❤❤❤ what about a “strength” MAL? Tackling that daunting UFO, learning that new skill (for me: colourwork 😬), breaking the back of a big project? x x x x
THanks for another lovely podcast. Pink is such a ray of brightness in the winter! (All of my winter coats are pink - I know I stand out when I wear them but I don’t care - it a colour that makes me so happy). Neil Pasricha’s book You are Awesome helped to redefine my thinking through a challenging time a few years ago - a book that I would recommend anyone in their early to mid-career read. My word of the year is “love”.
Beautiful vest. Appreciated your opening up about yourself and your challenges near the end, can relate, especially as we get a bit older (health, energy). When you said what words pop into your head for a word-of-the-year, the one that immediately came up was "gentle", which at first surprised me, but it makes so much sense, as I often have too high expectations and am too hard on myself. Wishing you health and joy in abundance this year, thanks for taking the time to share with us. Loved the song at the end and share your joy of appreciating Canadian winters. (Calgary).
Sorry the year had been hard on you I know after Isabel hurricane e knocked a tree into my house which meant it was a 14 month journey of rebuilding and repairing. I had to think hard about coping which I did not always do well. But I just had to think about how my mother would have behaved..that helped . I also learned you can do much more than you think you can do…anyway love the pink vest..I am thinking of the same color but it does make you look great! Thanks for all your project ,book sharing, here pines is good and will be brought back…it’s a new year!
Ack so sorry to hear that!! That would knock anyone off their feet! I am glad your mother was there with you!! They always find their way to support us no matter where they may be! I suspect hot pink is just a great source of joy 🤩
I like you just love the Kate Davies sweater from first sight. Also like the dust of snow shawl. The pink vest is perfect. I’m interested that you chose strength as your word. You were very expressive about your thought process. I think your mind set has a lot to do with strength. Your intention and purpose play a huge role. How do you face challenges? I’ll be interested to hear where you go with this.
Hi Selma, I have been reading Louise Penny’s Three Pines for years. Actually I got my husband interested in the series. Every year we wait for the next book to come out, she is a fabulous writer. We loved the Three Pines series, now waiting for season 2.
I admire you, Selma, for admitting that last year was difficult for whatever personal reasons; that's a hard thing to share ! Life is not always easy and breezy as we hope it will be, but I like how you decided to live with intention every day. You inspired me to consider my own thoughts about gratitude and intentions as I navigate 2023...I think maybe I need a Hot Pink Vest to rev up the new year...yours is so Beautiful :)
... 🫶👏Agreed, the Sole response from a Knitter's soul : " I Need to Knit"❤️ and knitting as one breathes ...

Best to you for this year!! Although you have some challenges ahead I hope that you can face them with stride and gravitas!! 🤗🤗
Thank you so much for being true and honest, it touch me a lot 🫶
Last year my word was inspiration, that’s how I began to watch Podcast.
This year my word is Joy, I decided that I need more of it in my life 😊
😊😊😊
Pink is a great color on you & I love the subtle depth the 2nd color added to the vest. Selma, the connections MAL changed me & I thank you for that. We have a thrift store that supports a shelter for battered women I'm 1/2 way through the 6th hat for them. It feels really good. So sorry last year was difficult- here's to a better 2023. And thanks for your podcasts!
Oh my goodness!! I am so glad the MAL gave you (and others) so much!!
All the best to you this year!! All the necessary renewal!!
The vest looks so great on you. that color looks good on everybody.
Thank you!!
I like to have knitting in my car so I can knit while waiting for my teenagers when picking them up.
A good plan!!
Thanks for another lovely podcast, Selma. My word for the year is growth. I feel the need to grow as a person after too many years of treading water. Hope your 2023 is all you want it to be.
And enjoy the journey as you walk the path of growth!! I’ll be there with you!
Wow! Great color on your look and piece! Loved the Chickadees, lol
Thank you! Cheers!
I love your vest, so much and your Bobbie lace bookmarked and keychain
Thank you! 😊 me too!!
That final song is beautiful. Nice to visit with you and get caught up again.
Thanks for watching 😊😊
The vest is gorgeous!! Lovely in pink you are! Always love your updates....so inspirational. I must try the vest pattern.
You should! 😊😊
First time listener. You had me at Pearl Jam!
Hello Selma, Thank you
I think we had similar 2022s. I also felt like it was too much to handle, just so so hard. But we made it through! May 2023 be a smoother ride 🙏🏿
My word for 2023, which I hadn't chosen yet, will be ease.
He just didn't know it 🙃
Finally, thank you so much for shouting me out!
I love your podcast!!!!!thank you!!!!!🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
Yay! Thank you! 🌸💕🌸
Your vest looks amazing!❤❤ So glad to finally have time to catch up with your episode. 🎉😊 22:36
Yay! Thank you!
My two favorite authors are Canadian: Guy Gavriel Kay and Louise Penny. I don't have Amazon Prime so I couldn't watch the TV series, but after hearing the comments I don't really mind. Do keep on with the books - some of them are better than others but the character development over time is amazing!
I will!! I will have to check out the other author
The hot pink vest is fantastic! Makes me want to knit a slipover, though no pink for me! Thanks for the nice video, the music at the end was just long enough for me to finish my row.
Perfect timing then!!
Love that vest, gorgeous color.
I also enjoy Louise Penny very much.
Thank you so much for all the inspiration you provide and the wonderful video footage and music at the end.
Take care, stay strong
Thank you so much!
The vest is gorgeous 💕 love your scarf colours r beautiful fabulous knits xx
Thank you! 😊
PINK! looks fab on you! Also love all the pottery you have around you, I’m a collector myself!
Pottery is the best!
Thank you!
Awww thank you!! 😊😊 I’m glad if the podcast is getting better and better!
Sorry the book is called South his ship was the Endurance
Thank you!!
My word of the year is simplify
I was so intrigued by your salt lamp I immediately went and tracked it down on Jana's channel!
Finnish Knitting Stories, Vlogmas 2022, Day 17, around 14 minutes.
Thank you for mentioning it, I've now come back from that rabbit hole to finish watching your episode 😊
I probably should have looked it up before mentioning it so thank you 🙏🏻
Thanks for posting that, really appreciate it.
Your pink vest is fabulous! And one word, sleepover -- say no more! 😅
Hi Selma! Your pink dress looks so lovely on you. I also did the "pick your four words" and mine were: connection, power, self-care and family. I will keep those in mind throughout the year 🙂
Love that!
I love your strategy!! 😁😁 and I wish I could wake up early like you! I’m sometimes the last one out of bed in the house!
@@littlebigknits to be alone in the house, is the real motivation
Hello from Denmark 😀 I knit a lot with Holst Supersoft. I do wash it before I use it, but I just put the cakes in nylon stockings, wash the yarn in the machine and let it dry on the radiator. After half a day, I cake up the yarn again so that the inside of the cake becomes the outside. Love this yarn 😊
Interesting tactic! Thank you for sharing that!
Thanks for admitting to prioritize knitting over tidying up sometimes. 😁 Now I dont't feel as guilty when I spend my evening knitting and ignore the clutter.
😆😆😆 I generally don’t feel guilty 😬😬😬 happy to enable 😉😉
I believe that a lot of my physical and mental health is directly related to how much I move my body. I invested recently in an at- home gym. I wish that I had done so long ago! It’s so wonderful! I put a TV on a mount on the wall directly in front of my elliptical and I watch knitting podcasts (including yours!) while I work out. I can swing the tv around so that I can still watch while on the fitness trainer (universal). This has made a huge difference in my life. A good workout makes me feel like a different person. - Thought that I would share. ~
I agrée!! And the more one moves the more the body and spirit craves it!!
@@littlebigknits it really is. Hope this year is good to you. ❤️
@@thekindles1183 and to you!
Yes Black Sheep Knitter is amazing. Nice to add to my group of podcasts. The snow covered forest is stunning
Great to hear it!!
Rowan kid silk is fabulous as well and it slipped my mind!! Simplicity is a great word!! It brings sanity and peace of mind with it!! 👍🏻👍🏻
I’ve never heard of those so thank you!
My word this year is grateful. The pink looks lovely on you.
Thanks for the post!
Wow! Pretty in pink! You have found your colour. Thank you for another great episode. I love your honesty about your house keeping. I often skip the deep cleaning in exchange for extra knitting time. Thanks for sharing!🥰
Exactly!!
My daughter strukkel with mental illnes amongst other she, have had been diagnosed with depression more than once. Every evening she writes 3 good things, that happened during the day in her dairy. That generate positive thinking. So a grattitude journal helps, I know, I've seen it work
I am glad to hear that it has worked for her 💕💕 and I hope it continues to!!
For this year I'm trying to live my best life. I lost my partner this past year after a long illness and so it's time to start looking up!

Well done!
You are so welcome! Glad if they help!!
The Hot Pink Vest looks amazing Selma, a perfect fit 😊
Thank you!
Love the pink vest! I’m not one who would ever choose pink but seeing your vest has changed my mind😊
Happy to enable!! Every time I wear it, it makes me happy!!
Funny thing . I’m in my home alone , heard clicking of spoons and got spooked . Lol 😅😂
🤣🤣🤣
Let it fly is a fantastic lesson for me today - spoken straight into my soul - I absolutely love hot pink, you look wonderful in that colour - stay strong and know you are very appreciated, I love your podcasts.
Thank you so much 😊
Love the hot pink vest. And your word of the year. Have a good one Selma.
Ottawa has some of the most beautiful areas to walk in. It's like you got the best of both worlds..a city area and a beautiful woods. The pink vest is a beautiful pink. Love it.
Couldn't agree more!
Thank you for an informative and oh so pleasant podcast. Bunny on the mug actually looks like a lamb! (I raise Wensleydale and English Leicester in MN). Cute.
His identity has been questionable but the potter made him to be a bunny so that’s what I’m going with!!
It's a beautiful vest, you convinced me to make one ,you should make an episode with your yarn stash 🥰🥰
Eeek that would go in forever!!!
Love, love, love the vest also my colour, I may be copy cat.🐱 ❤️🇨🇦❤️
Absolutely do!!
The vest and colour choice looks lovely on you!
Thank you so much 🙂
🥰 I love to knit and watch or listen to an audible book. Thank you for answering my question! I have decided to crave out time to crochet for 30 minutes each night in February and continue to knit my various wips!. I am also on a non-buying kick. I am telling myself that it is okay if I do not know what to do with some of my yarn stash.
Thanks for the question 😊😊 you have good plans!! 30 minutes of day will bring lovely respite from daily life!!
I too am addicted to audiobooks and knitting. Don’t know what I’d do without these two hobbies.
@@karenfeek1706 meeee tooooo.
@@karenfeek1706 me too! I am listening to It Girl by Ruth Ware! It is so good.
Lovely podcast, Selma ❤❤❤ what about a “strength” MAL? Tackling that daunting UFO, learning that new skill (for me: colourwork 😬), breaking the back of a big project? x x x x
Great suggestion! I will think about this!! Great idea! I’m somehow not quite ready for a new kal quite yet but I like the idea!
I thought it would be an excellent read/listen for a young adult for sure!!
(Calgary).
I Hope that your year will be a gentle one all around!!
I also enjoyed Three Pines, and hope they are making a second season.
🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Thank you for sharing!
That’s an interesting and thought provoking question!! I will have to ponder that!!
I Love your pink vest. I made one this year in nearly the same color and I really like it. Enjoy your podcasts. Lynda
I think everyone should have one!! 😁
Your vest is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing that you don't fix some of your mistakes...they still look great without having to be perfect!
Exactly!!
Hi Selma, I have been reading Louise Penny’s Three Pines for years. Actually I got my husband interested in the series. Every year we wait for the next book to come out, she is a fabulous writer. We loved the Three Pines series, now waiting for season 2.
Wonderful!
Thank you for your vulnerability, Selma. ❤I always enjoy your makes and your spirit.
Thank you so much! 😊😊😊
Love your podcasts and the lovely footage you présent. Thank you so very much! ❤

The nature footage was just beautiful; Selma you need to wear hot pink all the time it looks so so good on you. Another great podcast as always.

Heloo from România!💝
I admire you, Selma, for admitting that last year was difficult for whatever personal reasons; that's a hard thing to share ! Life is not always easy and breezy as we hope it will be, but I like how you decided to live with intention every day. You inspired me to consider my own thoughts about gratitude and intentions as I navigate 2023...I think maybe I need a Hot Pink Vest to rev up the new year...yours is so Beautiful :)
A pink vest helps a lot!! 😊😊😊 thank you for your kind words 🤗🤗🤗
