- The Minecraft Immersive Railroading mod has quickly become one of my favorite 1.16.5 mods to date! Paired with Immersive Engineering and my BSL Shaders (which was a headache to get going with Forge), it's a dream come true for a railfan like myself. It has iconic locomotives like Big Boy 4014, numerous freight and passenger locomotives like the Dash 9 and the ACS-64, and many more engines, rolling stock, and coaches. Combine that with the variable track gauges and the realistic operation, I had an AMAZING TIME playing with it all! If you guys know of any other Minecraft mods 1.16.5 has to offer, let me know in the comments below! Otherwise enjoy the video! :D

Brunel gauge is a broad gauge featuring 7' 1/4" track. The Big Boy ran on American standard 4' 8 & 1/2" track, so the Big Boy appears ~50% larger on that track.
I love this, the combination of the face cam, which you seem so calm about doing, and the fact you are not worried about putting out your opinion on a site that is infamous for hating all and every opinion, is kinda heartwarming. I like this style, and thanks to everyone else for not being toxic

I think that this as a survival series is an amazing idea! You definitely would have this guy as a constant viewer
do these mods work in survival, I'm not a big survival person, so I would die to put this together and make a massive world with a rail network

This mod is amazing and I'm so glad it's on 1.12.2. I also use Immersive vehicles and hbm ntm along with a bunch of other tech mods and the trains just add that extra bit of industrial vibe to my city, especially since they can actually be used to haul more cargo than most of the IV trucks can.

I can confirm the Union Pacific big boy is freakin MASSIVE. 133ft long and just the Engine itself with no tender weighs 1.2 MILLION lbs. that is 604 tons.
Recently the only operational big boy found itself on the same track as a stalled diesel locomotive, which it then helped push all of that train and its cargo plus its own into the next station.
It’s a beast.

As a railroader who works on full sized steam engines and miniature steam engines, I've never cared for most train games like train simulator, they get boring quickly to me. But this, looks like a ton of fun to me! I love that they have narrow gauge and model scales. that's awesome.

I could totally see this in a sci craft type or advanced hard core world to allow having a central base and a bunch of farms all around the world and facilitate mass transit of player and items without the use of the nether or super compliacted redston. Could you imagine having a creeper farm where all the gp is loaded into hoppers and transported by rail to your main base and dumped into a mass storage system with autocrafters to turn them into rockets. That would be so cool!

SAAAME! I'm modelling a loop to loop N scale version of the town I'm in (you can see the grain elevator from my backyard) and I feel his excitement. After I saw this video I decided to download the mod to re-create my model railway in minecraft.

I have always thought trains are a natural fit for MC. Especially with all the biomes, building large locomotives to haul materials from FOB's in different biomes would be cool, immersive, and fun
Minecraft definitely needs a rail update.
if you add in the fact immersive engineering tendt o force you ot make FOBs for endless material vains this mod pairs STUPIDLY well with it but it works with out it.BUt if you use immersives you will know just were to place say the leaver to disable the mechine to *or wires because immersive has redstone wires too

@@concept5631 late nights do that to me :P i do try to make thing readable but forget i need the specal keys, but the main deal. simple with immersive engineering and its sub mods, you kind of need to go quite far sometimes from your main base to get the ore vains your after, so you can get endless matterials, immersive railing is good for that.

13:38 The Big Boy did run through my town last week, and me being a confident 6'4", I think the train should be a bit more bigger because my height is basically the height of one of their wheels, and if comparing my height to Minecraft, that's gonna be really huge

Had a thought on how to steam these trains up faster: install Carpet Mod, then use the tick rate feature to speed up time in the game. Should work with IR just fine.

There was a mod similar to this wayyyyy back when, and I remember building a subway in my singleplayer world. it also had Monorail and a few other things. but the tracks wheren't as fancy and you couldn't run on regular minecart rail.
this is a crazy mod to see i enjoy trains alot too also im a huge fan of the big boy 4014 this would be perfect especially for moving lots of stuff and u wont be needing alot of redstone anymore

This comment probably isn't going to be seen, but a word of warning when using the big boy in survival, you may want do as he did and fill the fire box with coal and just forget about it. DON'T DO THAT!!! In my testing, it isn't the amount per stack that matters for the temperature gauge, but the amount OF stacks, Plural. Unlike the other steam locomotives, big boy's temperature gauge goes above a hundred degrees. Soo it will overheat and use water exponentially faster per degree to the point that at max temp it will go though its entire water supply of 68 buckets of water in 5 seconds. Now you may think "Alright, noo Biggy. I'll just wait until it cools down or just and more water." First it will take forever to cool down to the point of utter boredom. and once your tired of waiting for eternity you might try adding water to cool it faster or just to try to us it. DON'T UNDER ANY CIRCOMSTANCES PUT WATER BACK IN IT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!! It will explode much bigger than any base game explosion even with mobgriefing off. It was parked a good 100-125 blocks away from my house when I did that and my house was still somewhat damaged!
TL:DR Don't fill big boys fire box completly or massive explosion that will damage your rail line and surrounding structures.

theres a mod that adds more storage for all the liquids that u add so basically the best one has like i guess 30 buckets i used an auto clicker because boredom and its extremely useful its literally stacking water buckets into one slot and theres stuff from wooden to titanium and they connect when placed like optifine glass connecting for more space and its SUPER useful for auto water systems i also know this because of a server :3
The PRR Q2's were also an awesome steam engine class a duplex engine 4-4-6-4 non-articulated with almost 1,000 more horsepower than a big boy. Not larger than one though the PRR S1 was larger than the big boy though not including the tenders if I remember correctly. Idk just some interesting stuff. Great vid 👍

If only I had money for a PC. Anyway, this mod looks really cool, I like how realistic some of the things look. I film and photograph trains, and play with models too. Cool to see another train guy, talking about something he enjoys.

14:32 Small correction. You actually can run the immersive railroading trains on minecart track but not minecarts on the immersive track. I think its a new thing because I have the latest mod on Minecraft version 1.16.5.
