I did a blog post a few years ago, "Things I wish I would have known before I started counseling". We don't share this kind of wisdom enough. 5 simple points: 1. Let go of whatever idea you had that being a therapist would be 2. every roll, no matter how shitty, will bring you value 3. know your ethics, and live your ethics 4. it’s okay to be scared 5. Know your place, and also let your place know you
Freaking out before each session as a newbie! I thought it was just me. Thank you for admitting that. It makes me feel more ok to be scared and feeling like an imposter and still continuing on this path.
I finally passed my exam and became a LMHC. I’m gearing up to start a pp.

Dr. Marie Fang - thanks so much for creating this page and providing a wealth of knowledge!!
I actually loved this field trip/talk style! The microphone wasn't bad for me at all... and I'm deaf in one ear 😉 Thank you for this information!
I’m deaf in one ear, too!
Excellent advice, thank you! 🎉
I can see more clients if I’m focusing on EMDR or BSP. If it’s a mix of those and talk therapy, 25 scheduled is my cap.
Epic!
