- ----------------------LYRICS AND INFO----------------------------
** Lyrics **
It comes from the depths
of a place unknown to the
keeper of dreams
if it could then it would steal
the sun and the moon from the sky
beware
Human at sight, monster at heart
don't let it inside it could
tear you right apart
No guilt, it feeds in plain sight
Spirit Crusher
Stay strong and hold on tight
Spirit Crusher
Speaking in killing words
The vicious kind that crush and kill
no mercy, its pleasure to taste
The blood that it bled.
[Solo Schuldiner / Hamm]
When it's time to feed to fulfill
the need to consume a breath
some will rise standing tall
breathing out all the breath from
the voice of a soul.

2:17 All metalcore bands owe Chuck this riff
True lmao
and theyre all garbage anyway
Avenged sevenfold owes chucks family money
Now you ruined it for me...
I thought I was the only one that heard it, lol
Chuck makes it look easy and so does Richard Christy, incredible drumming
Steve makes it look easy
His drumming isn’t really hard, there’s just a lot to remember that makes it hard
@@Blickeymore wdym it's not hard? 😂
Richard this is your dad
@@Terminxman We'll see you later bub
He looks so majestic
20$ is 20$ ass mf
Definitely one of a kind.
I have like 10 favorite riffs of all time and 6 of them are all within this song alone.
2 years and no one asked about the other 4 riffs? What a disrespect.
@@viniciusamorim237nice pfp 🗿
@@viniciusamorim237which riffs?
Man, some killer guitar riffs in this track. Chuck = legendary guitar player.
Yess I miss him so much
"some" 😏
amen to that
Maybe the most UNDERRATED guitarist ever.
He was a legend!!!
This in maximum volume is the "sound of perfection"
lol
His scream "crusherrrrrr" was amazing!
Cranked treble, prolly 7 or 8 on midrange, 5 on the bass, full overdrive, and a touch of reverb for good measure. That's what I use when I want to sound like Chuck, and it comes across pretty well to my ears.
are you talking about your vocals?
@@fpcawolff no it's guitar amp settings
could you record a video playing spirit crusher or story to tell and her how it will sound :)?
I just fuckin crank it
The secret is a dimarzio x2n and a Marshall valvestate 8100 with a touch of a boss chorus ensemble pedal but most decent chorus pedals will give you that effect
I was Richard's drum tech ,best time ever man hes a great guy and friend 🤘
Were you his drum tech at this particular time?
@@ajmoore2201 yes sound of perseverance tour 🤘
@@123tonyking That's awesome! Random question but did you guys get to hang out with Pantera at all during this? Reason I'm asking is because I see Phil Anselmo at the side of the stage rocking out
@@ajmoore2201I seen him too , wonder how many others have seen him.
He’s my faaavorite
Chuck, while singing: *scream bloody banshee*
Also Chuck, at the end: "Thank you :)"
More like Scream Bloody Gore
they're trying to clap but the time signature kills LMAO
Of course it kills..... the band is named DEATH
I gotta say spirit crusher is probably my favorite death song
This happens when you dedicate your life to music.
Love it.
AND have natural creativity, talent and drive greater than average people. Truly had it all
1:18 one of the best heaviest riffs ever
There's so many layers to Richard's drumming. All the intricate little cymbal work blows my mind I don't even know how to describe it.
He is without a doubt an amazing graceful and intricate player.
As a bassist - came for Scott's bass intro, stayed for Chuck's playing.
awesome band RIP CHUCK SCHULDINER never forgotten godfather of death metal!!!! :-)
he was death metal himself
Best metal vocal imo
)
Not even close, but he was a great guitarist.
@@Edgy_Lthat's why it says "in his opinion"
IMO too
@@Edgy_L"not even close" are you serious? Chuck's one of the most versatile vocalists and that chorus really stands out on this track
I just read Chuck's story. It's so sad!! I can't believe that such a musician and person died like that! The World is so cruel. I hope he is in better place now !!
I had this concert in a VHS tape recorded from a friend back in the day. Never heard anything like this at the time... the intricate drumming, the massive riffs, the tempo shifts, the unexpected cymbal swells and chokes, the philosophical lyrics. Groundbreaking stuff.
Si estás escuchando esto desde el 2024 en adelante déjame decirte amigo mío q estoy muy orgulloso de ti.! 🤘🏻🖤👊🏻
Spirit Crusher
Richard Christy is such an amazing drummer ❤
The intro in high definition, with the volume turned up to max, sounds just fucking immense..
Até ao vivo o som era perfeito.
Você se foi cedo demais Chuck 🇧🇷😢
Total
Real
Chuck and Scott i miss You brothers , R.I.P
Such an amazing talent Chuck shuldiner was . It sucks that his life was cut so short . 🥺 RIP to the most significant figure in metal music .
Best band of all time
Nostalgia, Chuck ❤
One of metal's most iconic songs ever.
death is fucking brutal!!! ther the only band without a bad album ! RIP Chuck !!!!!!!
True??
@@ReddevilsFanNGainz86 death doesnt have a bad album
@@serpentscoil9868 didn't say they did
Tbh. Bolt Thrower aldo never released a bad album... They are both awesome bands
Human at sight, monster at heart. My tattoo is inspired by this lyric....
The best expression of metal!!!!
A LEGEND WAS BORN BUT THEN GONE TO FAST. 😢😢
his work would be at an unimaginable level today. films, games, not to mention immersive live concerts with great sound. gone too soon
Ive seen probably 200 concerts over the years. Never had a chance to see these guys live and I wish I could have.
Cadê os brasileiros curtindo essa obra prima
Does anyone know Chuck's reading focus by the time? He touches on some themes which I think had an immense impact on his compositions and general musicianship. There could be some testimonies out there.
"Beyond the passion for the music, Chuck Schuldiner was an avid reader. In his list of books there were biographies of his favorite bands and also some books about which he used to keep on the headboard. Among his favorite authors were Joseph Murphy, Leo Buscaglia, James Herriot, Caroline Knapp, Aristoteles, Socrates, Nietzsche and Steven Baker. He and his mother used to talk “about life and all it meant, his concerns about world events, hunger, wars, all of it in his mind to worry about and wish to make a difference. Indeed he was a philosopher, thinking, questioning, writing”."
I extracted that info from www.emptywords.org
Dopeul Oxous -Thank you so much! Definitely Chuck stands out among metal musicians. I guess such genuine concerns makes a world of deference.
One of the reasons I ever picked up a guitar. Awesome track!
His soul lives on
No youtube , no tiktok and no instagram back then and still the best composition ever made in the Death Metal industry ever. \m/
qué gran canción! lástima que jamás podré escucharlos en vivo. Genio Chuck!!!
Richard baterista incrível, deve ter sido muito difícil pra acompanhar a total perfeição de Chuck
one of the best death metal bands ever...... said that he had to be taken so young!
I love this band. This has been popular in my high school days...
4:04 BONITOOOOOO
It's great to watch this in 60p. Such a kickass show.
Chuck was taken too early, he had a lot more to share with us, but I am eternally thankful for the treasures he left us with! RIP CS!
Amazing riff at EVERYWHERE MYNIGGA!
Mah faaavorite
The riff stolen by all the metalcore bands..
GanjaPharmzor I wish...
GanjaPharmzor great point
There's like 80 riffs in here you're gonna have to be specific
@@dystopiant7793 it’s the one where everything but chuck stops playing. after that riff it goes into the “speaking in killing words, the ruthless kind that crush and kill” part
@@paulhayden8948 oh ok
how can bro still look so majestic doing it all? its so unfair 😭
That gallop riff before the second verse is so goddamn cool. 💯
I'm not really into death metal as a genre, but Death just hits in a way that no other band in the genre seems to.
It's exactly the right level of intensity and technical ability for me.
Cannot believe that someone could write this song, as well as 3 of their most epic albums. And noone treated perfect 5th as excellent as Chuck did it... RIP the most perfect songwriter of Death metal...
Chuck was a gift watching him shred and sing blows my mind still gives me chills watching it
The original riff on 0:43 is from Johann Sebastian de Bach. Chuck composed it very professional. It is a riff melody.
Nice, what song exactly?
HD! wow. this is insane...3rd version I've seen of this performance, and finally the audio is properly synced with the video. thank you so much.!
It´s incredible - this genious in this genre. Very complex song structure, great artist in guitar playing. I don´t know any guy like him. He is unique and he was a great loss for metal music. RIP Chuck Schuldiner! We miss you!
Grande banda , uma das melhores !
These guys hit so hard!! Can't believe I miss out on these guys in the 90's.
Shoutout to Richard Christie from The Stern Show, on drums.
Chuck is for sure the godfather
Thank´s you Chuck and Death!! Long live To death! Roll
thank you so much for the video, chuck you will always be in my heart
the destimy of this genius crushes my soul... RIP Legend, your legacy remains 'til the end
i can’t stop listening to this masterpiece. i do not think anything is wrong with me.
What a fuckin voice...Chuck was something special
Talented and goddamn good looking. Taken too soon. We love you Chuck!
Shannon's Pile o' Skulls Dinky has been one of my favorite axes since I was like 10, I love that fucking guitar!!!!!!
0:16 guy gets dropped on his head
Lmao
Perfeição 😍
Screamed so hard he almost went back to singing
espetacular, execução primorosa ...
1:59 this drummer is not human
Guy plays the most interesting drum parts ive ever heard
Such a masterpiece 💯💯💯
Although he left this world too soon, he is now in a better world. Rest in peace, Chuck, forever in our hearts
The original master shredder. 2022 you still get blood boiling 👊🤘
drummer is crazy
Imagine dimebag darrell , vinie , cliff burton and chuck schulinder 💣
THATS IT, BLOOD!
Efsane ortam, efsane zamanlar. Rahat uyu Chuck. Belki bir gün bir yerde karşılaşırız.
was born before chuck died... but i will still be a fan no matter what. They are the best for me and knowing that Muhammad of Necrophagist looks up on them is a big fucking plus.
I would have loved too go to a concert like this
Bandaza, crear el death, y luego mesclarlo con progresivo y jazz, Chuck era un genio.
Chuck was so ahead of his time
he wore a smart watch in 98
Listening to this reminds me of merciful fate, their guitar player was on another level like these guys were.
Que buen estilo para tocar la viola que tenía este genio de Chuck !!!!!!!!!!!
Too awesome!
1:06 This part is so difficult
My favorite line up
O Death chegou a outro nível. Acho bizarro como a galera não consegue entender que Chuck inventou outra concepção musical no metal. Encaixar o Death no death metal é de uma pobreza sem limites. Viva Chuck Schuldner eternamente. Grande gênio da música.
legendary Band !!
A true story of metal forever 🤘🤟👹🎃🤘 I will never forget you chuck the ultimate metal head 👹 Scott
Bass is an Ibanez SR-05. Absolute legend tone.
Phenomenal band so sad what happened to Chuck.🤘🤘🤘
,,,,,, THE INVENTION OF THE BEAST MODE ,,,,,❤❤so long ago.
so heavy and i love it 🖤🖤🖤
Qué canción tan genial...
It sounds f****** good live !
Le pone color el vocalista le gusta ser admirado
Breathtaking!
