I got my first job at age 14 in 2001, and I used my first checks to buy a PS2 and a couple games, including MVC2. Played this game faithfully, and I even went to local arcades to take the high scores on their cabinets! I sadly got conned by an adult neighbor into letting them borrow this game for a couple days, not knowing that they planned to move asap and had no intention on giving my game back. 20 years later and I still think about how much I miss owning that game. If it ever returns (remastered or remade), my inner 14-year-old will cry and cheer with celebration to everyone around me!
Dude I was in the staircase near the floor when Darby jumped onto 2.0 and Sting was right in front of me (you can catch me in the broadcast for a few seconds) and Sting is freaking huge! I’m only 5’6” though.

Honestly it might never happen. A lot of people didn't think Infinite would happen and after how poorly it was received Disney might want to go a different direction with the Marvel name in regards to fighting games. That's why we want MvC2 to be rereleased so bad because it's a lot of peoples favorite and if we're not getting anymore MvC games we would at least like to play the most regarded one with an active playerbase again, even if just for one last hoorah.

Litterally it's because Disney. Not even an exaggeration considering that company's reputation for being absolutely scummy. Hell, I'd argue that they're the biggest reason for why Infinite failed as horribly as it did.
Disney being in the picture just makes me so skeptical this will ever happen. They’d probably rather try and make a newer game with newer movie characters (vision, scarlet witch, Winter Soldier Loki etc.) and try to bank on their popularity. It would be sick to get a MVC2 re-release with some balance changes though so more of the roster is really playable instead of Storm, Cable, Sentinel, Magneto etc.
MVC2 was the first game I really learned about mechanics, combos, and characters. I remember getting yelled at for printing the FAQ on GAMEFAQS for MVC2 because I used up all the ink.

I played this at an arcade for the first time earlier this year, and it was love at first sight. I need it on my switch, pc, and Xbox SO badly. It’s just fantastic. I also just wanna get my boy Amingo back in general but that’s another topic for another day.

Found it in my closet and played it for 7 hours. MvC2 and Capcom vs SNK 2 have to be two of the best fighting games I have ever played! Bring both of them back!!

Literally this is the game that got me into fighting games. Absolutely amazing game and it's sad to see it like this. Ruby Heart, SonSon, Marrow, Sabretooth, and Silver Samurai are some of my favorite characters and I just enjoyed this game so much.

The devs, and eventually Disney is going to realize there is a huge market for this, they're going to go all out for Marvel 4, and we're going to get an amazing sequel eventually. Literally this is the game that got me into fighting games. Absolutely amazing game and it's sad to see it like this. Ruby Heart, SonSon, Marrow, Sabretooth, and Silver Samurai are some of my favorite characters and I just enjoyed this game so much.
Switched my title card on umvc3 to "take you for a ride" most mvc2 thing I found to rep the cause on there
