I'm following you & doing 8hrs eating window & 16hrs fasting from last 3 months . Stopped using sugar, tea, coffee, oily & package food. Lost 15kgs. It's very difficult initially but I do it to reverse my fatty liver grade 2. I was 88 kgs before & now 73 kgs. People who saw me only in photos before I started intermittent fasting, calls me & asks how did i transformed. My ans is to follow & do as Dr. Pal says.. 😊 Thanks Dr. Pal.. for showing us the path for healthy lifestyle. Forgot something - I got my confidence back as it looks good after I tuck my shirt. Only worry 😂 is I have to spend for new pair of trousers 👖 😂

Along with what u are doing do water enema for amazing results. Why is it so. Due to our previous mistakes of taking diary, packed ,refined , cooked food, NV our colon is coated with toxic material. This will push toxins in to blood stream. Also 71 critical points in colon related to every organ in the body will be activated only when u do water enema

@@chittithalli8367 Breakfast - 2-3 boiled egg white, 4 chappathi with dishes of fenugreek leaves/Beetroot with curd. Or 4 dosa/idli with coconut chutney. Lunch - 4 chappathi with any green leafy vegetable. Dinner - Big No.. as i reach home at 10PM. I drink black coffee without sugar around 11AM & 5PM. Avoids all packaged foods/drinks/fast foods/Chocolates/Icecreams. Using precautions not to consume oils in cooking, more than 3 teaspoons in a day. I'm temporarily avoiding Non Veg / Spinach/ Sprouts/ Mushrooms/Dal/Alcohol including wines as I had my Uric acid at 6.9 which was brought down to 6.4 in 2 months using intermittent fasting & diet control. PLS NOTE THAT IT IS DOABLE. I'm extremely thankful to Dr. Pal..

Thank you Dr.Pal for being my motivation.

Following a 12 hours eating-12hours dieting window; 07:30pm to 07:30am; since the last 8 to 9 weeks; with 2 non veg meals in a week and lost around 8 kgs come down from 84kgs to 78kgs. Thanks a lot Dr Pal. Most importantly I feel light and good, with no bloating as I felt before I started this.

I realised about intermittent fasting quite late , when I became 70 yrs old and 12 yr. Diabetes. Thanks to the method , I came to 6.1 HbA2c from 7.2 . I just use 13/12 window . Can not go beyond that since I started ie almost 2 yrs back . Dr has reduced my metformin (that is the only diabetes medicine I take) a little . Your videos motivate me to stick and improve my intermittent fasting.

Dr. Pal, you are really a friend to my health. ❤ I was feeling discouraged. I had stomach pain recently, I suspect a minor virus though there weren’t many symptoms other than bloating, acid reflux and pain. I fell off the fasting and high fiber and protein for a few days. It helps so much to see this is a marathon not a race. I’m going to go back to a 12 hour night fast again, high fiber and protein, delayed morning caffeine. When my stomach is normal, it actually improves acid reflux when I stick to just water a few hours after dinner, the acid calms down after digesting dinner and I eat again in the morning after coffee. It is a little tough with relying on my coffee to help bowels first thing. To delay coffee feels like a delay in the start to my day but you’re right that it helps my brain throughout the day to wait a little. Do you recommend drinking warm lemon water or plain water first thing? I try to journal and read for an hour while my brain is waking up before coffee. I heard limiting screens is beneficial around sleep times too. Thank you so much for all your work! 😊

    Dr.Pal, you are a game changer ..!!
I started to put everything on you if I have any restricted foods on my table. A simple statement I say is … “Arreeee Dr.Pal told me not to eat papad.. 😅😅”
I realised that my health is important to my family. Before time restricted feeding I took proper nutritional diet + basic walk which made me loose 9kgs in 3months. Now, After I am seeing results, I started with time restricting feed. 8PM to 8AM is a fasting window I choose which is very much do-able with a bit of planning. I could successfully complete 2 weeks of it and wish I follow through out my lifetime.

Hello Dr. Pal, thank you once again for sharing your personal experience along with your medical expertise through your subtle candid confession that adds a touch to your scientific narration. Because of this, I was able to forward as well as recommend your videos to my circle of friends and family to bring a small change playing the role of a catalyst.
My heartfelt gratitude for addressing my query for those working in odd shifts especially supporting the European and American countries.
I couldn't agree more with you on all the points as I mucked on adding the right food especially protein on the table that led to muscle loss attracted comments from my friends (including medical world) and family members were worried about me and now have taken corrective actions. Discipline is the key and certainly helped me and now in more than 95% of occasions I can stick to my diet plan.
Lastly, please help me use alternative words to thank you for each of your videos.

I am 59 years of age, 5feet 10 inches height, I was137kgs weight till September 6th of this year. In last 75 days I reduced to 132 Kgs. so lost 5 Kgs. Very slow process. I am a strict vegetarian, used have food 3 times a day. Usually I have breakfast at 9.00am, lunch at 1.00 pm and dinner at 5.00 pm. My usual eating schedule is 16/8 schedule since 20 years. I will have coffee only once, after one and half hour of y lunch. I am not a diabetic, but had BP since 2 years. My HB A1C is 4.9, Trying to reduce weight by walking exercises in gym, no results, but got knee joint pains. So I stopped having dinner. So it became 20 hours fasting window 4 hours eating window. Even not taking coffee, also not having sweet items. I reduced 5 Kgs in 60 days. In last 15 days we have 3 marriages in our family, I maintained the timing but had coffee and some sweets in the 4 hours eating window. My reduction of weight stopped. When I noticed no changes in my body, I terribly disappointed myself, lost confidence. But motivated again writing down my calories intake and trying to maintain to identify the carbs, fat and micros in my food in take. At the age 22 I got TB meningitis. Then my weight was 65, Had Rifampicin and other medications and body reacted to gain weight. tried so many weight reduction programs, found no proper results. I have another problem that I will not feel I am at the age of 59. My brain is not thinking of my age. But body is at more than 60 years of age I feel when I am walking, because of the weight. I kept target to reach back 120 kgs in 6 months time. If I succeeded, I will set further goal to reduce another 10 Kgs. I am not getting any cravings in fasting window also I not feeling hunger and weakness even, Let's see. If any one advices a better option, I will check it.

Need to share this doctor. I was on night shift duty at age 19 in India way back in 1979 ,p&t department.and from a pallakkad tam brahm family. So 'gundu 'was translated as health. But our dinner break was at 7.30pm, 4 hours before sleep time. So without even knowing about a fasting window I was following it. Fast forward to now, I am 63ekdum fit. No belly fat. I am a grandmother to a 3.5 year old. Later when I changed to a public sector bank, normal timings, lot of walking, and never street food even today. Your videos are a grt support for my siblings sir. Thank you.

Whatever you tell is my Bible. I followed everything you told very strictly. So I did not make any major mistakes. Thanks a lot for making us learn from your mistakes. I concentrated a lot on time restricted feeding, protein, fibre, calorie deficit. I lost 7 kg in 45 days(from 62 to 55) which is in healthy range. The mistake I did was not concentrating on calcium and iron intake. Now I corrected that. Thanks a lot for your guidance. It means a lot to me!!!

Hello doctor, strictly following intermittent fasting for past 1yr now, lost near to 18kg in the whole duration. Initial days mistakes which I was making was:
    1. Started feeding on anything in the eating window specially biscuits which contained maida and sugar
    2. Was taking coconut water in the fasting window
Throughout my journey I was intensively focusing on weight loss and playing lots of badminton, not focusing on muscle building. Now started doing strength training along with cardio and now I feel time has come to move to the next stage where I need to lower my body fat from 24% currently to 18% and focus on muscle growth as I seen in another video of yours. You Dr Pal has changed my entire life, being an obese throughout you brought me from XL TO MEDIUM size shirt, gained enormous amount of confidence and belief in myself. A big thank you sir. God bless you😊

Hi Doc - fumbled onto your videos of the last couple of weeks and really enjoy watching them - simple, to the point, and specific. Have a few questions:
    1. Is intermittent fasting OK for people over 60 - what duration of fasting etc.
    2. What about post menopausal women - is IF different for them - should it be?
    3. In your videos we hear about the best combination of proteins, vegetables and carbs - but not about fruit - what fruit should be had during IF feeding and when should fruit be eaten
    Looking forward to your responses.
PS: Have been doing 16.5hrs IF and changed my eating habits over the last 2 years and lost ~12Kgs in year 1 and have been stable in year 2. Need to lose more weight.

Thank you Dr. Pal for changing my life. I have been following TRE since April(5pm to 7am). My fasting time was 14 to 15hrs on average.I lost 17kgs. I entered my daily calories in my fitness pal app TILL July. That helped me to track my protein, fibre and other nutrients intake. Two weeks before my BP became slightly on the low side and had mild dizziness. I went to GP and found out that I had low B12 and ferritin. I feel everyone should be mindful in their vitamins and nutrients intake. I think my MISTAKE was not entering my nutrients in the app for the past 2 months. Bcoz in the first 4 months I was so mindful in eating more veggies in my every meal. Iam a vegetarian. That also contributed to my b12 deficiency. I started eating more fruits and vegetables now.. I am feeling better now….

Hello doc Pal, i am trying 12 hrs from august. I saw your videos by chance while scrolling and i really like it. I started doing it . First few days were so difficult then in 1 week i started feeling good. I was bloated all the time for first 3 week. I included milk with ghee in the evening within timeline and it helped me. I reduced 6 kgs from then offcourse along with mindful eating and walking 6000 steps atleast. Thank you. Also i am waiting for your challenge. I want to reduce few more kgs before newyear. Please upload your challenge

I grew up with my grandparents in Cuddalore (I am talking about the late 1960's, 1970's and 1980's). My grandfather routine was like this.
Wake up at 4 in the morning.
Go for a walk 5 kms with a walking stick ( walking stick was to shoo away the street dogs. Those days no proper Street lights and stray dogs occupied the streets).
Return home, do some domestic work and have coffee at 8 am.
Since our grandfather's house was huge, he used to do some gardening and fire the boiler for hot water (no geiser in those days)
Have another coffee at 10 am
Have a bath and do Pooja for an hour.
    Have lunch at 1 am.
His lunch consists of 2 servings of vegetables (mainly consisting of beans beet root carrot pagarkkai but no vazhaikai and potato), correct quantity of rice and out of it larger will be curd rice. No pickes and appalams.
Take a Bcomplex tablet walk a little within the house, hear the 2 pm news on the radio and sleep till 4 pm.
Wake up and do some office work (as he had business), take 4 pieces of cashews, dried grapes fried in ghee and an apple and walk around the house for half an hour. He will insist me to eat apple when I am around, but I will not eat since I don't like it. He used to say, ' an apple a day keeps the doctor away '.
At 7 pm dot, have 2 chapati with little dhal ( you can observe his fasting window was 13 hours, from 7 pm to 8 am)
Go to bed at 9 pm sharp.
This was his routine till the age of 89 and he had never visited the hospital or doctor once. Till his death he was able to take care of himself without anybody's support.
At the age of 89, he slipped and fell down while walking in the house and his femur bone was fractured.
    The next day he died.
I also sometimes used to go with him for walking ( because he will buy Pongal from the hotel in the morning which will be hot and tasty) but I have never seen my grandfather eat hotel food.
His stomach was flat (nearly 6 packs) till he died. No BP, no sugar, nothing.
Now I am following him religiously and now what Dr.Pal says, my grandfather following it during the years 60's, 70's and 80's.
My age is now 61 and I am following my grand father's foot steps. My aim is to be on my own till my death. My stomach is also flat like my grandfather's).
I think, my grandfather would have come in Dr.Pal's dream, just a joke 😂. It's similar to what my grandfather had followed.

Thank you for the concise explanation of potential pitfalls folks might encounter during the journey of weight loss via Intermittent Fasting. Watching this and your other videos, it has helped clarify the reasoning behind eating before sunset and its connection with the body's circadian rhythm.
I would appreciate if you could clarify a bit further either in comments here or in a separate (whichever is more convenient) - how does the changes in seasons (and hence changes in sunset time) affect the eating window. For instance, in Northern America (especially Northern States and Canada), in winters, the sun can set way before 5pm. In this instance, if someone were to start Intermettent Fasting with a window from 7am - 7pm, the sun would have already set 2hrs prior. In this instance, would eating as late as 7pm negatively impact Intermittent fasting results as that might conflict with "night time hormones" like melatonin etc. and work against weight loss efforts as explained in your other video?
Would really appreciate if you could help clarify how one can adjust the eating windows due to seasonal changes in sunset times and, in turn, changes in circadian rhythm.
Thank you for everything you do and all the advice on this channel.🙏

I am a working professional and lives in a remote area. However, there is a canteen type facility (food is good - less spice and oil & variety in vegetables). I am trying to bring the eating window to 12 hrs but it has been 11 hrs since a few months now. I am 29 but I have a belly fat that I really want to get rid of. I exercise 5-6 days a week (30 mins a day). No added sugar. No packaged food items. I am not sure how long it is going to take but I am putting in the best of what I can do at present.
