I have a tropic strap, and then learned about a major con: topic strap's pin-holes are far apart, making it difficult to get the perfect fit. Either too loose or tight... never just a right fit.
I just ordered that same seiko solar diver. I wws wondering if there were any issues with the spring bars fitting? Does the solar seiko use the larger 1.1mm tip spring bars or the standard 0.9mm tips?
@@MrBazH "Purist" and "authentic" are meaningless in this context. They are copy-cat straps no matter how you slice it. In any case how would a QR detract from the "vintage vibe".
@@daveLin104 these are not getting any wrist time these days. I actually prefer the quality of the San Martin tropic strap that comes on the SN0007-G-B (62Mas). I find it more comfortable and it also has the rounded ends like the JB. It might be a rebranded Wolbrook strap but I can’t confirm.
The inscription on the buckle (acier) means steel in French. 6:11

It’s easy to add holes with a hole punch kit. The material cuts easily and doesn’t crack like other rubbers.
@@realestwatchreviews thanks for the tip
Like the style of the strap but not a fan of all the holes. Really hard to find one without the holes tho

Seiko fat spring bars don’t fit in these straps.
Wish they were available with quick release...
That would be nice!
Not if you're a purist and want the authentic vintage vibe. JB made the right decision. Plenty of Tropic-style straps with QR bars.

@@MrBazH Are people checking your wrists to see you're authentic?
What is the best tropic strap ?
These Joseph Bonnie are good. I also like the Borealis tropic strap, which have a smoother texture.
@@realestwatchreviewsDo you think any of these can be snug into the 19mm lugs?
@@varbane the Joseph Bonnie ones can definitely fit on 19mm lug width cases. I have done it many times.
@realestwatchreviews do you still rate these vs the competition?
