I think the reason Alison is mentioning nasty comments is because in the last video, she got attacked for saying she is supporting Kamala Harris for president, instead of the narcissistic liar and woman hater. We are here to follow along with her cooking and baking… not to belittle or insult! I’m from the US and our political climate is getting angrier and more dangerous with each passing day. It’s embarrassing to even admit that I am American, because of the way these idiots put down and belittle our democracy. It’s sad and pathetic

@@lisaanderson135 Did you read your comment? You did the very belittling and insulting that you are commenting about. Look in the mirror because most Americans do not see it as you do and it's not because of racism or hatefulness. The right is not angry, but the left is which they have been for a long time. Too many are suffering in this country and very little caring from your side. That's why the tide changed. Start caring a little bit more for us and maybe the tide will go your way again. You are right it is sad and pathetic not to care about so many of us. It's okay to have a political opinion but it's not okay to belittle, discriminate and be hateful of others because you do not agree. Look in the mirror. Having said all that, I did not see her video, but I'm absolutely not surprise that she was on Kamala's side because she is not suffering financially, and she's always been obvious about her beliefs. So, I'm not sure why anyone got on her unless she got rude about the other side. Just look at the chili she is making. Using expensive meat. I can barely buy ground beef and usually don't. It's not just me because so many of us are in that situation. That is not her concern nor yours, but for many Americans it is. People that are worried about paying their mortgage, bills and trying to make it to the end of the month are not going to be worried about progressive ideals, but you are and so is she and that is why your side lost. I can still see Alison as a nice person even if she did not vote as I did, but people on your side are so prejudice towards anyone that sees things differently that I doubt that you would watch her if she was Republican.

    • @lisaanderson135

@@sandy-ke1kr listen, I don’t hate people who don’t agree with my views and beliefs. Heck, I have many friends who are republicans or conservative liberals. I just want to point out, the majority of the hate and racism came from him and some of his followers. He is the one who keeps calling people immature names (Sleepy Joe or Gavin New *Scum?) and using racist diatribe’s (calling AG Letitia James- Letitia “peekaboo James”, which is an extremely racist slur that starts with the letter J). He unleashes these things at people who don’t agree or share his POV. Again, I’m not here to argue… I’m here to watch and learn how to make a chili. I am also on disability. So I’m not in the same situation as Alison’s. I’m terrified of losing my healthcare and monthly stipend (as measly as it is). I’ll be able to get by without the monthly payments, but I’m screwed if I lose my healthcare. I think my original comment was directed at my frustrations of the outcome of the election. Not directing it at just one person.

Whew! I vented on the maga person earlier now I'm calm enough to comment on this video. The chili is delicious and rich, but, coming from the south, I'd not call it chili, I call it stew. I like ground beef, I know I know, Alison doesn't, and I like it a bit sweeter. I can't tell off the bat what was definitely missing for me to define it as chili? Anyhow, the cornbread, absolutely delicious and that was knocked out of the ballpark. Thank you Alison for your recipes. Your Thanksgiving stuffing is my go to. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Despite that fact that arguably more than half of the country is in mourning, I do have faith in America. The next four years will be tough, and yes, I wish I had the means to move to a foreign country and wake up when the nightmare is over, but that's another four years out of my life and I won't let THAT person ruin it for me. Yes, families and friendships are being destroyed as we speak, the country wasn't recovered from the first four years, yes, flirting with UBER rich to elect a POTUS smells of fascism, and yes, women and gays? Good luck to us. Nonetheless, I'm grateful to be alive, sort of.

I just made this recipe and it turned out really well, but there was one thing that didn’t quite work for me. My beans took four hours to cook and they were still a bit firm. I used Rancho Gordo beans, which technically you don’t have to soak, but next time I’ll definitely soak them. I’ll also halve the amount of beans I used because I thought there was a bit too much. And let me tell you, I’m a huge bean lover! But the cornbread was absolutely delicious! It was one of the best cornbreads I’ve ever had.

I was lazy (and short on time) and made the short version which did not disappoint!! It was delicious, even immediately after making. My only "complaint" would be that I also used a 5.5 qt Le Creuset Dutch oven and there was no way the entire recipe would fit. After adding the beer and tomatoes, it was almost overflowing and I had not yet added the 4 cups of water or any of the beans. So I had to get another large pot and divvy it up mid-way through cooking which was a bit annoying. But everything turned out great in the end! Just a note of caution if you decide to make the short version- prepare 2 pots or halve the recipe. In the end it was enough to feed probably 10 people.

Does anyone know which skillet she's using to bake the cornbread? I'm in the market for a smaller size like that.

Obviously you must see something most of us don’t but you’ve really made quite the community on here in your comment sections, atleast in my opinion anyway

This looks INCREDIBLE. Any suggestions for alternative proteins aside from beef?

You could try chicken for your chili, although that is not tomato based. You’ll have to ask veteran vegetarians for meat alternative or only beans chilis

@@sabinal17 happy to try different kinds of meat (lamb, turkey, chicken) or vegetarian alternatives that would offer the least amount of changes to the recipe cuz it looks incredible, we're just a no red meat household!

Mayo makes sense to me if its egg mayo. I use Greek yogurt because I never have milk in my fridge

Crazy the chili I grew up on barely has any meat compared to the beans. I forget that it even has meat sometimes

I don’t agree with our girl’s politics, and it impacts my enjoyment of her channel NOT AT ALL. I still love and support her work. I don’t need to align ideologically with every single creator whose content I find valuable and useful in my life. I truly don’t understand the desire to exist within a values vacuum.
